Confusion Over Which Fuel Filter Is Correct

Hi guys.

I was browsing through the euro car parts website under fuel filters because I am going to change oil and fuel filter aswel as drop the oil and renew.

Anyway, it came up with two different types of fuel filter, a black plastic one and a metal cylinder type.

Now when I blanked my EGR, I removed what I thought was the fuel filter (big metal cylinder with in/out pipes and electrical connection) for ease of access.

So my question is, which is the correct filter to change? I personally think it is the metal cylinder so what isthe black plastic one and where is that located?

Mike.

Thanks Mick.

18 month old girl running around prevents me from replying straight away! LOL

So there are two metal ones on euro car parts site. One normal filter and one "performance" for £20 extra.

can you see any benefit to buying the more expensive filter??

standard would be fine, unless your outputting more horses than the factory put into it, standard would more than suffice.

The sporty ones are more for a well tunes, remapped kind of engine! :)

Hi Jeebo.

Well as it happens my car is being remapped on monday to compensate for having no DPF. :)

A standard would still be ok in my case wouldnt it as its not like im adding an extra 100 hp! (Wish)
