karlos1987
As promised, here is the video - 30 odd minutes, but you get the drift! I will try and put some timestamps of the first points, but the first 7 minutes are the worst. http://youtu.be/pIFi-RODNcc Video is not coming up. jeebowhite
HAHA yeah so very true Karl! Hopefully everyone can see the video! it seems to take longer loading in firefox than other browsers if thats a helpful hint! Couldn't agree more Alex, I am just trying to gather some information and will be passing the details and the video on to the police. Worst case scenario they cant do anything, best case, he can be done for any or all combinations of FPN's for: > Speeding > Driving without a seatbelt > Driving without due care and attention Even better if he could also be done for: > Taken Without Owners Consent > Criminal damage Although the latter two I suspect would be almost impossible to cater for. Pete80
Glad you managed to start sorting this incident out, think you have coped well I'm not sure I would have shown the same restraint, if someone had done that to my car I would be tempted to rip his spine out! Let's hope the police can take it further that would be the icing on the cake mate Sent from my SM-N9005 using Ford OC mobile app
jeebowhite
Dropped an email to Kent Police enquiries team, providing a description of what has happened and asking if they belief an offence has been committed. I dont want to take their resources unnecessarily by speaking to them when someone else would need them so preferred the email. I look forward to the result personally, and will keep you guys in the loop of course! :D
jeebowhite
Cheers Pete! Last night I was fuming, I someohow restrained myself from going straight to the police, gathered my thoughts and had a lot to think about - would the trader take their side and refuse to honour the warranty repair for things, then when do I report it, how do I report it. I would be lying if I said that I hadnt considered the idea of going to track his house down, if nothing else but to put nails under his wheels, or to punch him square in the face. I think I was too angry to do anything, there is something odd about me, that even if I feel an over compelling feeling, or urge to do something my brain shuts down and waits until the options are all processed. most of the time I at least do something straight away, but last night I spent half an hour deciding the route to go down then couldnt stomach it any longer. Called the trader up at 21:30 last night to discuss the issue, then sorted the garage today. We will see what happens!

jeebowhite
Wow... is all I can say - Kent Police, I have never had as quick a response... I sent the email to Kent Police, within 3 seconds of me sending the above post (seriously, no joke) saying we will see what happens, low and behold - Kent Police are on the phone. Took my details, registered a crime reference number and they have booked me to have an appointment with some patrol officers tomorrow, not sure if its the traffic division (probably most appropriate) but anyway, they are booked inf or a 20:00 appointment tomorrow. Now, what surprises me is this: The chap who called me to discuss this issue spoke with his supervisor. They believe that there will be sufficient evidence to persue the accusation of Taking Without Owners Consent, Driving without Insurance and Driving without due care. The patrols will take more information and be able to advise further! haha, you know what the most ironic thing is - I will potentially be the very rare victim who can provide the police with evidence of first hand evidence in the form of DVD of the theft / TWOC'ing of my vehicle and with the full flavour of the idiocy in driving. :D B) :P

Stoney871
If an Officer considers that it is affecting a drivers ability to maintain safe control of a car then yes. Someone got prosecuted a while back for eating an apple on a motorway.

jeebowhite
Taken without Owners Consent, The difference is that Theft is outright taking of someone elses property, TWOC'ing is basically abusing your position of trust and "stealing" or "borrowing" it by abuse of that trust. i.e. if you have a full license and the car, and you live with your girlfriend and she takes the car in the middle of the night (say she only has a provisional license) then if she gets pulled, she can be done for TWOC, as well as driving on a provisional without supervision, and driving without insurance.
