All the parts I need have arrived except two rear bumper mounts. I'll be fitting the new wheel bearing on Saturday. Meanwhile the wheels are with a mate being resealed as I had pulled two of the tyres off the bead.

As soon as I'm paid I'll be getting the bumpers and wing painted for around £200. Then it's the rest of the damage on the car that needs respraying, the prep to which will be done by a family member

I've been thinking.. the rear passenger quarter wheel arch is slightly dented. Now. Do I try repair it myself and flare it slightly? As I don't have to worry about cracking the paint. The only issue I'll have is doing the other side as that doesn't really need a respray at the minute! Decisions.

One thing is for sure. The freshly painted bits are being waxed like hell and sealed using CarbonCollectives to give them a chance in life. Then I'll be getting abit of swirl removal done on the rest of the car at shine & Drive in Howden

Unfortunately the car's just recieved the final nail in its coffin. The boot now closes and the light structural damage at the rear is now fixed. Upon further digging under the bonnet, I found this

For this reason I'll be looking to buy a new car (another fiesta) next month. All my mods will be transferred. Hopefully I'll be getting a Zetec S as strangely its 600 cheaper on insurance!

If anybody wants any parts then the cars up for breaking , all ORIGINAL parts are available.. although I can't gaurentee the condition until I have checked

Yet another bombshell, the car has done 161000 and the owner doesn't have the logbook, only the V5C they were given upon their purchase! Was the perfecr little thing too :( New clutch, timing belt, water pump 800 miles ago but still wanted 1000

Is it a Zetec S? Sweet! Keep us posted. I have sat shotgun in a Fiesta through the twisty roadsof Wales and it was such fun. Reckon with the Zetec petrol it will be even more.

Don't forget to transfer all the Focal stuff. Better have found that issue now than later Kieran. Safer to get another car.

It was just a 3 door flame. 2005 on a 54 plate in grey. But it was the most beautiful shade of grey! Haha

Looked great, was going to view tomorrow morning but the mileage just isn't worth it.It's also a previous cat C write off and has been repaired to a lower spec than it left the factory with. I'll Transferring everything possible and selling the rest

Some really bad luck you are having here. Such a shame.

You could always look at picking up a mk4 (or even a mk5 :D) for the time being, just so you have something until funds allow you to return to a mk6?

I hate to admit it but I've been looking at a Rover Mini city! Haha

I just want my freedom back!!!

Now you've mentioned it Ill have to have a look at an older fiesta. If it wasn't for insurance I could have had an XR2

Id never have a mk4 but looking at them I honestly wouldn't mind a mk3!

XR2 would be nice now the weather is getting better :)

I'd give the rover a miss though, I hear corsa's are cheap to insure and buy :P

I can't afford to claim as its 250 excess then another 400 young drivers excess then the rest and then there's me loosing my no claims and not being able to afford insurance for 10 years. It's just not worth it :(. I haven't even notified them as the actual accident ended on private property I suppose, and the damage has been paid for

I'd love a classic, I wanted one before the mk6 but the Mrs wasn't happy about the idea :(

I'll get one eventually even if it means guilt tripping her ahha

Same thing for me, if i ever had an accident it's 500 excess, which for the mk5 is more than it's worth, so not much point :(

I'm desperately after an XR2i before they start going for silly money but can't have another car - 3 is too many as it is :D

I'd happily go without insurance if it wasn't a legal requirement and just pay out if and when!

Just had some quotes for an ST150 Just for the laughs

Thats crazy amounts for the ST any idea why its so high? , I am getting quotes around £1500 for a ST and I'm only 18 with 1 year no claims. I would love to have one but simply can't afford it at the moment.

I know how it feels to have ridiculous insurance quotes. Paid €1300 or thereabouts for a Renault Megane 1.4L Petrol here a few years back. It was ridiculous as I was over 30 at the time but with no NCB. Utter pants!

It's gutting as ive found so Many fiestas in mint condition. But the engines are too big for me to be able to get insured! Smaller the engine, the more they are to buy :(
