Saw my first Red edition in the flesh today! On a personal 57 plate! Blagged my head for a second! What a stunner it was! If only :(

I've plenty of photo updates but the android app has decided I'm not allowed to upload them! Will come eventually!

Purchased a new jetwash! A nisfilk Titan. Absolute beast. Foam was like shaving foam.. until the lance got clogged up :( haven't stripped it yet.

Today I prewashed using Inspired automotive snow foam with wax. I then hand washed using turtle wax Zip wax (trying to use it up). I used Inspired automotive (noticing a pattern?) Extreme stance wheel cleaner . Washed that off and then sealed the car using Inspired automotive Finalise! The shine is unreal!! No waxing for 6 weeks either :D. After the machine polish and new bumpers I'll be sealing the car in carbon collective sealants (I already use their glass sealant).

Interior; I used Inspired automotive "refresh" fabric cleaner on my seats and fabric door card inserts. It's done an amazing job! I then hoovered my car mats and used Inspired automotive "rubber and dash care" on my dash, door rubbers and interior trim. The finish makes the plastic look alot less inferior! Tonnes better than black pack and the likes.

Quite a successful cleaning session I'd say.

To top the day off, I've ordered a nisfilk wet/dry vaccum from amazon for £75! Arriving on Monday! Can't wait to get some striping going on!

Once I get a good batch of photos I'll upload them off the PC. I've got college work to transfer onto the PC too so I suppose I should really get a move on... Haha

Here you can all see a quick, early preview of my latest project whilst I decide on what's to happen next.

The top row are practically perfect.. the bottom row on the other hand.. well, we'll see. I should have put the ones I actually use on the top row haha!

Also.. my smoothed front bumper has began! Still waiting for some plastic welding to be done on the rear.

So this happened today!

Not my car.. but it's the exact corner & house that I crashed into!!! He even wiped out the bl00dy £300 fence I paid for!!!!!! Not happy!!!!

If anybody's interested I'll share the full article in a bit! Mentions how bad the corner is.. Doesn't mention my accident in an identical car though! The homeowner kept his word to say the least!

Finally found the energy to upload a bunch of photos from the phone seeing as the app is c4ck!

Basically just been trying different cleaning/detailing products and methods, along with several homemade cocktails worked out quite well tbh.. The beading is getting abit mad.

Still deciding about alloys and the suspension..

All depends on money once the car is paid off! Could do with a machine polish before Ford fair once ive finished the smoothed bumpers and had them sprayed

I bet the man of the house peeped out the bedroom window in his jocks,

Wife from bed says: "what is it dear"

Man says: "ow its just the boy racer came through the bl00dy fence again da bass tad"

So today I decided to fit the mintex discs and pads from the old car.

I removed the brakes from the old car and then jacked up the front left of the new car. "Clunk". Look at the shock and the spring was hanging down!!! This would explain why that corner of the car was SLIGHTY lower.

It's been broken for some time as the breaks in the spring have thick rust on them.

I decided I would remove the spring off the old car and replace the broken one on the new car. The broken spring was a cheap replacement and the strut had marks on the actual piston where the cowboys had changed the old spring! Idiots! Then some smart !Removed! said there was nothing wrong with the old shock on the old car.. even though the tracking was miles out and kept shifting. After spending the day replacing and swapping things I finally packed up and started driving home! Only to feel like j was driving the crash damaged car! The steering is complete crap and the tracking is out! Looks like it's a trip to Upullit tomorrow !

Also. My ABS light has now come on so I'll have to swap a sensor off the other car! And my lower bearing has developed alot of wear which will cost me an additional £15!

Up bright and early this morning and got a lift 27miles to a not so local breakers yard. Removed a shock and spring and headed home! An hour later, it's swapped and the tracking is now better than it was before the broken spring! So I'll leave it a few weeks till I can afford alignment.

As for the ABS light. I found a break in the wiring for the front left sensor. I stripped the two cores and soldered them. Then insulated with heatshrink! Got back in the car, ignition on.. ABS Light didn't go out :(

Tried to clear it using my phone and it wasn't having it! So I held in my tears and set off to the girlfriends..

And behold.. as soon as my wheels started to turn, the light went out!!!!!! Bargain fix!!!! Happy as pie! :)

It is an amazing feeling performing the fixes yourself saving alot paying a mechanic to source the problem then source the part then more expence in labour costs, your doing really well mate top respect.

Honestly so chuffed about the ABS sensor! Hopefully it'll last the life of the sensor now :) . Didn't fancy removing one from the other car.. althoughive started soaking them in penetrating spray just in case

Update; Premier In booked for the 2nd August after Ford fair!

Plan for the day; leave Bridlington at 4am.
Group with convoy at woodhall at 5:30am.
Arrive at Ford fair asap for the club stand.
After Ford fair finishes, off the premier in for a good nights sleep (I hope) before driving back and maybe going to meadowhall the day after!! Wooo

  • 3 weeks later...

Another busy day today. Decided it was time i tackled the NS lower ball joint as it flapping around like tin foil.

First problem; The pinch bolt holding the old one in place snapped off in situ. thislead me onto my second problem;

Second Problem; The ford parts Guy was a stuck up snob who really didnt want to know.. Untilli asked him for a brochure for all the new models (only interested in the fiesta and focus but i fancied some reading).

Third Problem; Im too lazy to do the job in one so I removed the old ball joint from the arm and then had an hours tea break in the sun!

Got the job done and the Track rod ends loosened off ready for tracking on tuesday, Started the engine when i was greeted by a horrible rattling from the exhaust. The noise has always been there, But after the car being jacked up and bounced around it had gotten worse. It had always been there if i floored it in any gear. 5th gear doing 30 so no real sudden acceleration and it would do it. Irritating.

Turned out to be a heatshield come loose in the center of the car, Now held on with cable ties. And the rear heatshield for the backbox had fallen off completely!! I still have the sporty little blow from the exhaust.. But i now have a blow without the rattle! >D VRUM VRUM.

Due to finances & starting a small detailing business I've decided that I'm going to get my old alloys refurbed for Ford fair. I'm also going to tackle my smoothed bumper with an aerosol due to the costs involved with getting it done professionally. If I mess it up then I'll strip it off and try again! :)

Just remember it's all in the prep. Take your time and build the layers slowly. :)

Thanks for the advice :) I'm not expecting perfect results! As long as I fool you all at Ford fair into thinking I'm not a cheapskate ;) hahaha

Took the car the for the 2 minute drive to work earlier to collect some pieces of wood that were being binned! Parked the car out of the way (shouldve taken a nice picture on the seafront, The stage loading dock opens out onto the beach, haha). Came to leave and my front offside tyre was completely flat! Went home to get one of my old alloys and got on with the job in hand.

Only to find a huge nail in my tyre :(

Ouch!

Had the nail been in the side wall would be a new tyre job mate,

A good tyre place can put a plug on that for you though.

It's pretty much in the sidewall!! Took it to a family friend tonight and it's basically knackered :(
