Tyreleader.co.uk is the best deal for tyres I've found. They're shipped free in 48 hours, and then just get fitted wherever you want (£172 for 4 Falken ze914 in 205/55 R16, fitting was £20 for all 4 incl balancing). Sub £50 a tyre + fitting when the cheapest I found in the UK was £50+

Just had a quick look, depending on the tyres you want depends on how much you'll save although looking at the 225/40/18 they are practically the same price everywhere I've looked.

Sold mine to a buyer in the uk on ebay lol

Packaged them up like baby bell cheese, shipping was 67 euro for all four,

I made 340 pounds on them bought the RS focus tail lights from sandicliffe

Here's pictures of the packaging process

You have pictures for everything? (Must say they are very helpful) lol. Some very neat packaging that I'm just glad I won't have to do it lol.

Although I do have some of the old parts which where removed from my car at the time of adding the bodykit which I might need to package if they sell. Still need to pick these up from their Garage gonna get my brother to use his van :P lol

Check back every so often - their prices change sometimes daily - I waited 3 weeks til the Falkens dropped to a good price.

Just had a thought over night as you do...... If I upgrade to the 18's what if anything do I need to do about the spacesaver spare wheel in my boot? Just in case I every have to use it.

Your overall rolling radius of the wheel will remain the same mate,

When changing from 16" to 18" the side wall of the tyre becomes replaced with alloy rim,

16" have a 55mm profile (side wall depth)

18" have a 35mm or 40mm profile (side wall depth)

Overall size is the same, but if you ever get a front puncture as always you will have to take a rear wheel off to put it on the front, then fit spare on rear for safety.

Alternativly like me you could ditch the spare and join the AA

IMG_20150603_083713_zpswotwapvo.jpg

Ive fitted a foam wad from a Mk1 RS Focus in mine no spare.

Sleep tight ;)

Thanks for the heads up on that..... I've been reading up on the 18's and having to fit the Steering Limiter which has cast doubt on getting the 18's now as I've read you lose about 4ft in the turning circle which seems quite excessive and makes 3 point turns near impossible.

So I've been thinking about 17's but I can't find any which I think will suit the car.... Anybody got a Zetec S with 17's which you can show me some pictures?

I could go for the 16's http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-Ford-FOCUS-MK3-11-ON-STUNNING-MODEL-F79-4-BLACK-Alloy-Wheels-5x108-ET52-/371218412380?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item566e57735c but I'm not sure on the tyres they'd require and then maybe lower the car by 30mm.

Decisions, Decisions!

You will be sorry if you go for 17's, after all, how often do you do a 3 point turn? 16's look daft with the kit. I am more than happy to put up with my turning circle to have a better looking car.:)

I haven't done one in my own car for a while, i tend to find a side road and reverse in / out or something like that.

+1

The handling by far outweighs the turning angle,

The turning angle would be the same had you bought a transit,

Roads are designed to allow for it.

That's quite a negative thing to say Wes. My focus looks far better with the 17's than it did with the 18's it started life with. Plus it rides better too. Ok mines a tit x but I'd say mine handles every bit a good as an zetec s and even a RS.

Wheel choice is an individual thing.

Lower the front,

Put some 16" snow flake on front,

Dont lower the back, leave it stock

And fit some 18" snow flake

Proper Racer

Has yours got the kit on?

Im sorry but theres no way a Titanium X handles as well as an RS! If it did then they wouldnt spend thousands developing different components!

Dont forget to add a brake light underneath to light up the underside when you jump on the anchors, retro cool!B)

So my question is to you people with the 18's how much does it affect the turning angle? I can't believe it'd be as much as the 4ft I've been reading surely?

I'm in and out of works car park most days would I notice the limit of the steering?

It just means that where as you could drive or reverse into a space in one go it takes an extra manoeuvre with the limiters fitted. No big deal.

The standard turning circle for a Ford Focus is 11 meters adding the limiters and 18" alloys look to increase this to 12 meters (Source: https://www.carwow.co.uk/blog/Ford-Focus-Dimensions-949)

I think I might have to see if I can find someone with the 18's and have a go so I can see the difference that's the only way I can see my mind being sure to go for the 18's.

If I go for black alloys I'm looking to change the wheel nuts to black as well with also having a locking wheel nut on each alloy (Obviously) any suggestions for these?

Easiest way to change the nut colour is to purchase a set of 19mm plastic nut caps on eBay,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271669166658

Also purchase a set of black McGard lock nuts

Confirm fitment prior to purchase

The only problem with black nuts is that as soon as you put your wheel brace on them they will get scratched and look a mess. The nut caps sound a better option although ive not see them myself.

These caps slide over the existing 19mm nut,

If the tin cap should come off your existing nut it will then be an 18mm

I hate ford supplied nuts there made of cheese,

I swapped all out for McGard but cost me over 100 pounds

The caps on my factory nuts came lose then twisted on the inside nut thus becoming warped

Had to use a hammer and flat head screwdriver to remove the warped caps

Image2006.jpg

Resulting in the nuts looking like this:

IMG_20130324_153641_zpscf248324.jpg

These capless nuts are 18mm

Found this out when i tried to remove them using the ford wheel brace.

The 18mm nut warped the 19mm socket in the brace rendering it useless.

Had to purchase new wheel brace and new nuts:
