On download website scroll down to Troubleshooting and there is a download tool to create a log file on USB  stick.

    That just generates the XML log file to upload to Ford servers. Same as the one you can download separately if needed.

Hi Comares2001, that's what I tried but I get the error PKG_ERR04

Worked ok for me and others. Guess your stick is still formatted ex fat ?

@Pleo2005 PKG_ERR04 is Package revoked. Are you sure you are using the latest version of the Troubleshooter

The Autoinstall.lst file should look something like this

Quote

; SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.0.13 - Only for Nav/EU assemblies.

[SYNCGen3.0_3.0.18025]
Item1 = GB5T-14G386-AC
Open1 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AC.tar.gz
Options = Delay

Note , it refers to the file GB5T-14G386-AC , the earlier version is GB5T-14G386-AB and MAY not work on a system that has been updated to 3.4

edit: To be certain , I've just downloaded the troubleshooter from the Ford site and the Autoinstall looks wrong to me. It contains

Quote

Item1 = GB5T-14G386-AB
Open1 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AC.tar.gz

The Item1 line is wrong , it should be as my example above.

I must admit , I already had the troubleshooter downloaded and so didn't revisit the Ford site when I had to run it earlier

Thanks ianincheshire

So do you think if I edit the Item1 line to end in AC instead of AB it will work.

That is exactly what I downloaded to generate my log file after I completed the maps update. It worked perfectly well for me.

Strangely enough, when I examine the autoinstall.lst file for the original map download, item 1 does end with -AC, but this failed to generate a log file!?

I'm 99.999999% sure there are less voice commands in 3.4 than 3.3

Previous when I had a flash drive plunged in and indexed, I could use the voice comand "Play Album -  title" and it would start to play the named album, now it just totally ignores me.

Exactly the same for me. So, since I already had the -AC file , I manually created the autoinstall.lst as indicated in my post above and it generated an xml file just fine.

I had the same problem with the instruction” Play artist - album”.   It just took an age to re index!

Thanks ianincheshire for your help, managed to get the log file by editing the autoinstall.lst.

Makes you wonder, if Ford can't get the download for the Troubleshooter correct...

Hi,

I just received confirmation today from Ford Denmark, that the F9 map update has been taken offline from the Ford SYNC update website, due to errors in the update.

This is why, when performing VIN lookup via the Ford SYNC update website, you get a message saying that everything is up to date - no updates available, even though in your Ford accaount you can still see that a map update is available.

It should be available via VIN-lookup again in approximately 1 month, from the SYNC update website.

Anyways, the update via link from alex seems to work for me, and I guess that I will just update again, when Ford releases the next build.

Probably the fact that they forgot to include the updated voice and logo files🤨

I hope you don't believe them!! Some of us have been getting that message for almost 2 years being stuck on F7 and not getting F8 when it was released or F9. Only Alexp999 saved the day with his download. In military terms its a Cluster***k on the part of Ford.

I am currently downloading the F9 maps. It took a while for Ford to release them for my car.

From the Ford website?
Were you getting the “up to date “ message previously?

Yes, from the website. I had for weeks the message “up to date” and today I checked the website and it was available for downloading.

How much time does it take to update the maps? I am now at 45 minutes.

Anybody know of a fix for this? I already tried a master reset after the software update (but before the map update). As far as I'm aware everything has been indexed as I'm able to browse via album etc.

Further Update:

hello everyone,

As promised, ford CS have managed to sort my dad’s car issue. They re enabled live traffic in ford pass account which was missing and that enabled the traffic option in fordpass connect option. Only issue now is that I can’t enable Hazard option still.

Been advised via twitter from ford uk to turn on my auto update. For F9 maps. Has anyone actually managed to get the full thing OTA?
I have a weak wifi signal on my drive.
Connected to FordPass App...does that just mean phone paired with sync? Like it is everytime ?
