kossofffan
I should put it in context that work is only 3 miles from my house! 10 years ago with a nice car I brought, I put 23,000 miles on it in 12 months working at the same place 😃

GMX
I do like fitting in an extra walk with Pipper this afternoon. We went down the old roman road to the Council owned property of Upton House, where among other things is a small lake come large pond, just for dogs to play in..Pipper loves water. Pipper's reaction to spotting the lake as we walked through the adjacent wood was rather amusing. Having walked in stoical plod beside me for the 3½ mile walk down there: she suddenly took off, leapt over a gate, swerved around 2 old ladies with a small terrier, then went through the legs of tall heavily built bearded man (ZZ Top style beard) with a greyhound and sprinted directly to the pond. Whereupon, she launched herself upwards towards the middle, joining the 2 fellow liver and white spaniels, a near white GSD and a marl grey collie who were already splashing about

kossofffan
I like having the hottest weekend of the year off work & fitting my Fathers Day gift of EBC green pads :) Edited to add, Job Done :)
GMX
I do like that my phone had just randomly switched itself off whilst I was asleep: rather than it had died. It was very hot though, too hot to actually pick up, when I awoke! Pipper and I commenced her extended weekend walk at 4:30am to keep out of the forecasted heat (30°C this afternoon the Met are claiming). We walked down to Wareham and on the heathland around Arne, before turning back and going north. Returning home via East Morden and Lytchett Minster. Pipper is currently reclining in her paddling pool on the lawn. I'm going over to the rescue centre that Pipper came from the this afternoon, to be formally inducted as a volunteer. It's basically running through all the health and safety stuff for the site that you'd need to be aware of; common sense really. Although I'd applied a while ago, they wait until they've got a few new volunteers to run the induction class
GMX
I do like choosing a route that was shaded through Ferndown Forest and West Moors Plantation rather than open heathland for Pipper's extended walk. Whilst it was relatively cool on the way out at 5am as we walked up to Ferndown. By 7am it had begin to get too warm for brisk walking, so we went right into the heart of the forest. Of course it was even hotter as we came back across open farmland, and then Wimborne's outer suburbs. On the way back Pipper opted to make use of a pond, that I've not actually noticed before in Delph Woods, but in hindsight I'm wondering whether it's actually one of the water obstacles in the adjacent golf course Broadstone golf course runs alongside Deplh Woods, I have found lost balls before now on the bridleway. I also like this, the specialist search dogs of the LFB and the Met http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/818323/London-fire-Grenfell-Tower-dogs-shoes-fire-police-rescue-mission

GMX
Following her stifling evening Pipper is now cooling down with a chicken neck slush puppy on a bed of ice cubes. She didn't like the chicken stock lolly I made earlier: Molly did though 14 minutes ago, Stoney871 said: I have thoes boots for Willow & Jed, ideal for over glass etc. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk I can think of a subway that goes beneath the A348, where Pipper could do with some boots like those. The locals seem to "recycle" their vodka and cider bottles against the walls and abandon their needles on the ground. I have to carry her across, some dog walkers attempt to walk across the 6 lanes of dualled ( 4 lanes north: 2 south) rather than use the subway . Turvey
I do like living this far North where yesterday's top temperature was only 15°C. The heat you lot are getting down there would do for me!
