Things I do like

Featured Replies

I do like giggling at a old man (80's), as he exited / I entered tesco.

It's a tight turning as it is so I stopped early to let him through and he waved at me to go another way so I shook my head no and pointed out he had plenty of room, same again so I turned off my engine (should've kept it going for what happened next really - re dashcam), a few cars beeped him including a woman in front of me in a 4x4, she also gestured him that a bus could get through there...

After much fussing and more waving he made it through so I turned car back on and applauded him cue much obscenities and cursing from the old man woman in 4x4 was agog with shock, I had my window closed so couldn't 100% hear him properly anyway

Then he finally passed, as the woman in the 4x4 passed she said there was no need for him to say all that etc!

During my BMW phase, I had something similar, with an elderly and erratic cyclist, on one of the rare days, when Dorset had icy and snowy roads.

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

Haha, if you ask my wife I'm sure she would accuse her of being a girlfriend... Spend more time in mindel company than the wife these days (lots of travel) and I so toss up which of the two woman in my life costs me the most...

@ GMX - Just google '' U.K. dog friendly hotels '' or search anywhere in the U.K. using Booking.Com with the dogs / pets allowed filter engaged :)

Lots of Best Western hotels are dog friendly & surprisingly some Hilton hotels too, as are lots of Travelodges

Perhaps, dog and I can go for a bit of tour round Britain now :)

We are retired & take our little dog everywhere we go in the U.K. - she's been in more hotels than some people !

I do like getting my birthday (tomorrow) off unexpectedly, however I'm not such a fan of the consequence being working Saturday...

Happy birthday fella. My sons birthday tomorrow as well...

We do like seeing our grandson on Channel 4 advertising V Tech toys :) ( his Mother was very well paid too ) :)

It's just another day closer to the grave. The best bit is getting the day off!!

Haha yeah that tends to be my view. I don't even bother booking the day off

GMX as mentioned Google is the ideal tool, also local tourist infos should have a note of a few (you can ring the tourist info for these places), ummm also ibis are dog friendly too, or at least some are!

I do like getting a load of bits and bobs for my son, I don't like how much it all came too

Beware the difference between properly dog friendly & dog tolerant hotels, in dog tolerant premises your dog is normally only allowed in your room & nowhere else

Is grandson a child actor then?

Thats good to know :) My dog would be very very loud if she was separated too long

I do like sitting on the sofa in front of a nice roaring fire

So do my cats, but in our case the woodburner.

It's really quite mild tonight, in a total contrast to last night's evening stroll. No need for the fleece and hat and we saw a fox. The dog was totally indifferent to red cousin, looked briefly, and then went back to sniffing someone's wheelie bin.

Ours is a wood / multifuel burner too

It's turned our front room into a furnace now lol, only been going a few hours

Our cats aren't allowed in the living room, they used to keep going on top of / underneath the stove

I'm not surprised the cats like the wood burner! They sure do chuck out a lot of heat.

We even tested the one in Cyprus earlier this month. Made the house nice and toasty, especially seeing it was 18c outside even at night.

Yes, once the woodburner has been alight for couple of hours, the whole of the house becomes quite hot.

My cats, so far, haven't thought to sit on it, nor explore behind it. They have their rug and cushions

Neither the cats nor dog have any room restrictions. I often have an audience in the loo, all three of them following me in :D

@ GMX - no he's not a child actor as such - he auditioned for this advert & got the part - little blonde 4 year old lad in the ad playing with cars

We love our 10kw multi fuel burner too & the free wood from the forest :)

But he must have all the qualities they were looking for, it could be the start of his acting career :)

Maybe . . . we shall see :)

The dog loves gathering cones when we're in the local forests; so I've a ready supply of fire-starters. A forest walk yields multiple pockets full of cones

She's yet to attempt to drag back a branch, though :D

I had to take a rather long phone call this morning, just as another client and advisor turned up for a scheduled progress meeting.

Whilst they were waiting, they went off and played 'ball' with the dog, outside: rather wait quietly with coffee and hobnobs, inside :)
