He doesn't have a drovers dog normally.

Vowed to never play the wil-drover no more?

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

The bowl of golden syrup and pineapple upside down pudding and custard, which I've now eaten. :)

Meanwhile, the dog is still chewing her pork stick/sword/dagger/thing

Chewing the pork sword . . . . . :) :) :) :)

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

I've never had a tumble drier, I've always line dried. Except when it's constantly raining, then it's several indoor clothes horses, scattered about in various rooms

Are you a dairy farmer then?

I've got a mate, who has got a 400 strong herd, in Warickshire. The dog had ago at being a drover's dog last time we up there. Which went well until one of the cows stared at her, moo'd, and started droving the dog.

I'm a line drier too. :)

A 50M twirly one for general laundry and a 40M straight line across the garden, for sheets and duvets :)

Bendix is excellent brand, when it comes to servicing. They are well thought out by the Bendix designers :)

If by that you mean they are easy to service - you are right.

The motor pulley retaining nut worked its way loose a couple of years ago so I had to strip it down to get to it and put some thread locker on to keep it from loosening almost immediately. Whilst I was there I replaced the original (but still functioning) belt.

It took me around 20 minutes to do and the most time consuming part was waiting for the thread locker to dry.

The only thing I suspect it will need in the near future is a new power cable as the outer insulation is starting to crack and split.

The author of my washing machine service manuals extolls Bendix above all the other brands, he's serviced.

Openreach texted me and have confirmed they're coming this afternoon, to sort out my landline. :)

Although, since the text at 7am, they haven't assigned an actual engineer to the job

Oooh.... :o

Openreach must be reading the forum, no sooner had I typed the above post - they assigned me an engineer :)

Openreach's engineer has found the fault, a short circuit between the pole outside and the cabinet, he's just left - I have a working landline again and the internet has resumed it's normal stability :) :) :)

I have booked in the dog, for her dog MOT/Annual Service tomorrow morning :)

I suspect Advocate has gone up again, it seems to rise around £6-10 a year. Whereas her worming stuff has been at same the price for years, as have the vet's consultancy fees. :)

I do like picking up some free HiFi equipment on Saturday night! The 100 mile round trip wasn't quite so pleasurable (lots of winding country roads and the Primera sure doesn't handle like the Focus did...).

The end result though was a complete mid to late 1990s Kenwood stacking stereo system (M-47). I mainly took it for the turntable as my Kenwood M-58 has been running with an Aiwa PX-E860 which aside form being silver in colour and not matching the unit, produced inferior sound quality compared to Kenwood equipment.

I know that a lot of serious "audio-philes" would cringe that I broke up a complete HiFi by putting the turntable on another system and leaving it incomplete, but aside from the M-47 needing some work before being put into use it is also a more basic model and only has a single CD player, whereas the M-58 has a 7 disc changer and is overall a more impressive system.

As far as I know though the P-38 turntable was used on both the M-47 and M-58 so it is original to both set-ups.

Anyway, I'm babbling so will post a few pictures and shut it about it.

Current M-58 with "new" turntable:

The M-47 system which needs a service and cleaning but will be in full working order as soon as I have a spare afternoon:

Your as much into brown goods as your white goods and vacuums.

I freecycled a Pioneer turntable to chap in Southampton, which was actually unused, as I have no vinyl. Can't at the moment remember the model, it was made in the early 90's.

I think Pioneers are over-rated to be honest, but I've never owned one so can't really judge.

As much as I like the 7 disc changer on the M58 I rarely play CDs (maybe one or two per week) and mainly play my vinyl, hence my happiness in obtaining the turntable.

The dog has been to the vet for her annual dog MOT.

She's been given a clean bill of health :) the vet remarked she's got the vitality of a dog half her age :) and the teeth of a 2 year old :)

I do like my car insurance not being hiked up by my now having a wired in sub and dashcam.

I also like my daughter LOVES the new sub almost as much as I do :d

There were rather a lot of "end of the bowl" olives, at Tescos deli counter, where they pot them up and them sell for half price.

I bought 16 pots at £2.15 each :)

I have to say, I rather like these Oaty Dunker cookies, that I got from the bakery counter, at Tesco :)

I love reduced items. Whether it be Co-op or Tesco I grab all the bargains and most of it can be thrown in the freezer.

In the past I've filled the chest freezer almost full of bread and rolls which cost less than 20p each.

If you get your timing right, at about 7:45pm, Tesco knock all their reduced items down again, to 10% of the normal prices. :)

Oh I know, having spent time living on £10-15 per week shopping (for two people) you get to know the "reduced" times at the shops.

I'm taken by the idea of an LED Lenser torch.

I already have 3 fully functioning torches (2 that cost less than £2 & a Gerber 4-colour torch at £20).

The one that's currently taken my fancy is around £60.

I don't need it, it's too expensive, maybe if it...NO Sean, no!

Dagnabbit I have expensive tastes!!

Focus to the rescue! nice one fella!

My dashcam UPS arrived earlier than expected :)

It's also a lot smaller than I thought it would be, so it can be fitted in the box beneath the armrest :)

I do like my new pressie to myself, my 8200 cordless dremel

Haven't found a fresh use for it yet, but after nearly wearing out before losing its corded cousin, I'm sure it'll be ultra handy :d

Today has been a pretty good day...

  1. Scumbag (Oscar Pistorious) found guilty of murder
  2. New Bosch AeroTwin wipers arrived
  3. Curry in the oven and wine poured
