Things I do like

Featured Replies

I quite like some of pets at homes prices. I was after some !Removed! bags and I thought I'd get the beast a toy and saw some for £1... She destroys the squeak in less than 5 minutes, but will chase the toy afterwards if it's thrown, but she loves breaking them, so for a quid, who could argue haha

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I got rolls of 1000 HDPE 9" x 7" bags from Venus Packaging Solutions Ltd for 70p a roll, a while ago, for our poo bag needs. They're actual small food bags rather than dedicated poo bags, not sure how that compares with current Pets at Home prices.

My dog's favourite toy is an Asda elephant, with disproportionately long limbs, which was a £1, in the end of summer season clearance. Mine doesn't chew hers up as such, she sort of hugs them whilst sucking them: like a soft comforter. In the manner of a squirrel holding a nut

I have serious want for this...

But it's a Peugeot, and at odds with your Foci fanaticism

That Pug is a minger :(

Still love the Foci and that's what I want...but this comes second.

Car happiness is wanting what you have - not having what you want . . . . :)

Yep that's true, but to be honest I'm getting desperate now so I'll have anything.

6 months to go...

Even a Corsa?

Even if desperate you wouldn't want a pug...

I'd rather walk than drive a Poxhall :(

Ah, well I got 4 rolls for £2, not sure how many on each roll... Not 1000 though haha, we need the number rolls due to different jackets, vehicles, handbags etc haha..

As for elephant... Like this?

I think I bought 20 rolls at the time, for the same multi-location requirements

That elephant is almost the same, albeit with stripey limbs; my dog's elephant has grey limbs

My brother and sister-in-law have two pugs

A four legged pug is far preferable to a four wheeled pug . . . :)

There's three in my family, none of them are new and all have been 100% reliable.

We have a near 8 year old 207, had it 2 years and it's only had a few minor problems. Just wear and tear. Aunt & Uncle have a 407 Coupe which replaced their 406. They love it to bits.

My cousin has a 307 which she also loves.

I'll happily have a Peugeot or Citroën thanks, my second choice after a Focus. :)

It's strange, some people have great experiences with Peugeots and some have terrible (like myself).

When I was a child my mother had two 405s. One was a circa 1990 1.6 petrol which refused to idle (like a Focus with a dodgy VSS) and the electrics had a mind of their own, thus draining the battery more than once. It died when the rear suspension collapsed thanks to a neighbour borrowing it to tow a "trailer". Turned out to be a HORSE TRAILER which was of course too heavy for the 405's coil springs to take.

Second was a 1994 405 1.9TD which refused to start despite having numerous trips to the mechanic (including one very expensive trip to a Peugeot dealer) and the best advice they could give was "change the glow plugs". We did and it still took 20 seconds cranking to fire up. Absolutely terrible. It died when some idiot rammed into the rear end whilst it was in a traffic jam and although it looked OK, come the MOT it turned out to have a damaged frame.

Since then our lives have been blissfully Peugeot free and monthly repair bills are a thing of the past.

We had the same experience with 2 out of three Audis. We won't touch a VAG car with a barge pool again so I understand why you don't like Peugeot.

405s were generally reliable though, and Peugeot Citroëns are rated well for customer satisfaction nowadays.

Each to their own

I've even heard some people swear by vauxhalls ;)

BTW I've also owned a 106, shortest lifespan of any car I've ever owned

I know, and the 1.9 IDI XUD engines were meant to be bullet proof. To be honest I think ours was just high mileage and never maintained so most likely had low compression.

Indeed they do, my Grandfather being one. He has had Vauxhalls for the past 10+ years. A Cavalier, Astra van and now a 2005 Meriva.

Whereas nearly everyone else swears at Vauxhalls

Or swerves away from them...
