I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

Perhaps it's a generational thing.  I don't feel I should be 'allowed' to do anything until I've been specifically instructed and potentially licenced to do so.  (Towing a trailer for the first time on a car licence felt very wrong!)

No-one told me how the sample was supposed to work...was just given a tiny pot and expected to work it out.  Quickly realised I couldn't aim it, or indeed fit it, into the pot and would need to find an alternative method.

On a serious note, I do feel we should be 'normalising' this type of thing a bit more.  Makes it less daunting for other people if they sort of know what to expect when it happens to them.  For years/decades people kept it all to themselves through embarrassment or shame or whatever, but that doesn't help anyone else.

A pot?? LOL mmm... we have neat little sticks that are a breeze to use. Those of a nervous disposition - LOOK AWAY NOW 😂

Yeah, as I mentioned in an earlier post, mine was for multiple tests, needed a larger sample.

I'm not in the age bracket for the automatic bi-yearly tests.

I do like the visitor we got in the garden last night.

In the last few years we've had regular visits from these. It's usually just a pair but last year they turned up with what I assumed to be some chicks.

Or north korea are sending balloons with rubbish over the border to South Korea. Did make me chuckle. The future of 1st class post  with the new owners of the post office? 🤣🤣

Nice to visit back here again. Been looking at mk6 fiestas in the celebration model in green. Don't know to get one or hold out.

Been saving up for 3 years since starting a job and hopefully may start looking at properties soon. Got a credit card a few months back and using it to increase my credit score.

Been eyeing up at getting a big upgrade on terms of car but best to get the property first.

At the moment have this vw up still.

Any Transformers fans here?

Watched the 40th anniversary event the week before in my local cinema. Showed the series 1 of the 84 cartoon with the first episode revoiced with the original voice actors. Never watched the original cartoon so was something new.

Nice to see you back as well 😉

I do like that yesterday, after visiting the Trust Ford dealership where I bought my 71 Fiesta ST-Line X Edition, they finally got somewhere in trying to get the repairs booked in.

One of the things has already been sorted (parcel shelf was missing) but the other 3 things I have been waiting to get sorted should now be getting done on Tuesday morning.

The 3 things I had told them about and they agreed to repair were
1) O/S mirror indicator lens cracked and letting water/condensation inside
2) O/S rear side skirt trim not stuck to the body (double sided tape fail)
3) second key fob not working or registering to the vehicle at all (which may need a diagnostic doing and a new key ordering).

Good job I'm not footing the bill for these things at £130 an hour plus parts prices.

I do like that a while back, I was successfully treated for Bowel Cancer, but now technology has advanced to the stage that I can get an annual screening kit posted to my home with a prepaid return envelope, so the hassle of a yearly visit to hospital is no longer needed...

Well, the follow up to this should be in the 'I don't like' section but not sure how to transfer. LOL Got letter today following screening, and they have requested, 'further investigation', so a hospital visit next Monday is now scheduled. Fingers crossed, eh? 👍

I occasionally get the call back when my diverticulr disease flares up and i have what i refer to as a show. Blood on the tissue on a wipe, couple of days rest eat soft and am ok. I know what its like to be in Intensive care pumped full of every antibiotic going to ward off any chance of sepsis, few and far between. Can do without the bright yellow liqiud napalm hahahahahahaha

The car has been to the dealership today for the repairs.
My second key now works (it needed reprogramming to the car).
However, the repairs aren't complete and won't be until next Friday.
The O/S mirror repeater lens isn't just the lens that's cracked, the whole mirror unit needs replacing.
The O/S rear side skirt needs taping and fixing back into place as they said that some of the underside fixings were missing.

Over the years I've bought many small toothpaste-like tubes of superglue and always been dismayed how little time they last until they've dried up. Last October I was forced out of desperate need to grab a small Loctite branded bottle (10g, precision max) from Asda for £5.85. It's still like new 7½ months later. Super impressed. Good job Loctite 👍.

I've found Loctite to be really good in that regard whereas the non branded glues are really one use only. They also have a really nice self seal nozzle...

speaking of superglue, i've taken to repairing guitars for freinds. As soon as you mention superglue for Luthier work {ultra thin } the price triples. Needs to be ultra thin so it wicks into the wood instead of setting on the surface. Maybe this should be in the things i dont like.

No need to 'stick' precisely to the topic 🤣

I do like making a trip back to one of the islands I lived on when in my teens. However I didn't like the fact that the trip there was 30 minutes, I was on the island for literally 5 minutes dropping an empty skip and picking up a full one and straight back on the boat for the 30 minute trip back.

Stunning views on the way back! 😃

I do and don't like fixing this key mark someone purposefully did on my dad's friends car. She dropped the car off and parked it down the road overnight so dad gets the mot booked and service done on it.

I managed to sand down the keyed area, tape it up and apply a few thin coats of touch up paint mixed with 2k lacquer with my finger. Sand it again till it flat with the paint then machine polished it. Am quite happy with the results though I hope the lady doesn't notice it as its very faint to see now.

This spot it was keyed at there's a car parked there normally who the driver lives on the house on the corner so might be him as his car is scratchless

Thanks Eric. Still feel bad for the lady owner. Couldn't tell her this happened as it would look bad on dad.

Come down to North London for the day 😂. Was quite surprised with the results. Mainly thanks to the touch up paint. There's a car shop near me who sell good paint and the 2k lacquer helped.
