I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

And are you going for fish and chips afterwards? I'm always starving within half an hour of having a Chinese meal!😀

I do like walking into my local model railway shop and walking away with a few bargains (mostly pre-owned).

I picked up this bus in the original box for £12.99 (RRP £19.99). I thought I'd have it as I fondly remember the livery before Arriva took over.
I also picked up a class 55 Deltic loco (no box) with some minor damage for £19, A class 47 loco in InterCity livery in the box for £49 and a class 37 loco with some minor damage for £49 (no box).
I don't have a model railway layout so these are just for display purposes at the moment.

Indeed they do and since I'm no longer around real ones, models and simulators are the next best option.
I can now spend the money saved by not using petrol going to and from the railway on other things.

My hobby is emptying beer glasses

If it isn't, it should be.

I should get a gold medal then. And an appointment with the AA.

You couldn't make this up !!

The Ford promotional video on "how to do it" is broken 🤣

So today I went out to meet some family members at the pub where my unfortunate anxiety vomit incident happened. This was a belated birthday meal for myself (April) and one of my older twin sisters (a week ago).
I wasn't going to have food but decided I needed to eat something.
Instead of ordering a meal like the rest of the family, I ordered small an had garlic ciabatta bread and some chips (I avoided chicken and anything greasy).
It seemed to go well and I was able to eat what I ordered and also cope with the sight and smell of their foods.

I do like completing 4 days ADR training and 9 exams! Bit of a bummer that 2 of those days don't count as you can't carry extra days as it's more than 5 years until my next CPC expires 🙄

Driver's CPC valid for another 5 years and then, if I'm still fit for driving, it'll be my last lot of training until I retire 😲 😀

Going to christen the new pizza oven tonight as well, had it a couple of weeks but it's never been weather to try it out.

No wind snow rain or frost forecast then up there tonight? 🤣

I do like that today, the final 2 repairs were done on my car (O/S drivers mirror surround and O/S under trim).
This ends 5 and a half months of chasing them to get it done.
There is also a post going in the things I don't like thread about things which happened today.

lay off the beans

I need to lay off something, dreaming well at the moment, and remembering them when I wake up. Good if there nice dreams. Allways a bit bizarre the themes though.

I get bizzare dreams due to meds, usually about loosing something or being lost.

I registered with ancestry website last night just to see what deceased relatives I could find. Managed to get back to find a 6 times great grandfather in 1701 . There were some names I recognised from my mum telling me about my dad's family history she knew.

I started on that exercise when my Dad passed away about 20 years ago. It can get rather addictive. I managed to trace a couple of legs of my family, including the direct male line, back to Tudor times.

If your family has been fairly static, parish registers are a useful source. They only go back to 1538 though, when established by Thomas Cromwell in Henry VIII's reign, and a lot of the earlier ones are in Latin. I wished I'd paid more attention at school!

I did wonder if I might discover some missing fortune and I did find following the direct male line that the family were people of wealth in Victorian times. Unfortunately it seems my great-grandfather was the black sheep of the family so the money went elsewhere and my grandfather ended up down the pit, like my other grandad!😠

I'm up the Dales at our caravan at the mo - lovely weather for a change! I've often mentioned that there is plenty of air activity up here, and today is no exception

I've just watched 2 guys paragliding from the fell across the valley, when a pair of USAF F15s shot right beneath them. I wouldn't like to see the inside their underpants!😀

Funny you mention that.  I'm currently looking at the cycles on new washing machine.  Rapid wash says only suitable for lightly soiled items.  I'm genuinely trying to work out whether my pants count as lightly soiled!

Give them a sniff, if they can do another day, they're only, 'lightly' soiled 😂
