I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I can imagine! As much as I'm a carnivore, I would feel slightly ill eating the meat of animals I've essentially "lived with".

.....and tonight children we're roasting Perry the family pig, now who wants some crackling... :P

It was Bertie the bull last week

Doesn't phase me at all.

Used to be a slaughterman many moons ago.

He'll keep you going a while, i would have thought, you can fill a freezer with half a cow

Easily.

About 150 - 200 lbs per 1/4 carcase so bone out, trimmed and ready to cook probably around 120 - 170 lbs of meat per 1/4.

Plenty of steaks, stews and roasts there.

Yum!

theres one thing I like and its not meat

Had a long pleasant weekend walk with Brandy, or should that be wade, as most of the bridleways have 150-200mm of standing water

Brandy made some new friends, near Canford School, an extended family of white Cairn terriers, although given the mud, they were various shades of brown and grey. Their humans are breeders and there were four generations out for a walk.

The cows at the aptly named hamlet of Cowgrove were all huddled together on the only high point of their field, they usually wander over to say hello, they decided not to today and keep their feet dry.

I've just looked in the fridge, to see what to make for tea, apart from a disproportionate number of sausages. Last week's sausage buying got out of hand: three times I forgot I already had sausages, and bought some more. There are 76 sausages in my fridge, at the moment :o

I have nearly all the ingredients to make a ratatouille to accompany some sausages, and enough potatoes outside, to feed the Royal Navy and half the Army :)

So, that's tea sorted, then :)

I do like perusing the Vauxhall Facebook page and seeing that the hate comments show no signs of dwindling

I have to say, the "How are you faring with the recent cold weather?" post was just a tad insensitive...

Did Sean ever get a reply on there?

Five sausages consumed: 71 to go :rolleyes:

Despite lacking aubergines, ratatouille without them is still pleasant :)

Don't think so - in fact, I think it's been removed...spoil sports :P

You can't be anti vauxhall on the official vauxhall page... If they left comments like that it would be FOC mark 2

I do like that the rain seems to have stopped, it was very Springlike on Brandy's early stroll, sunshine, warmth and heavy dew on the grassy knolls. :) This not traditional January weather though! Where's the frost of my youth? The ground frozen to 4" deep, that will kill all the bugs and plant diseases, that will revisit my plots again this year, if it doesn't get cold enough

James, are you giving away shrubs on your new dashcam review site? "Freebush" would suggest you might be :P

Getting the free radio code from Ford, granted they should have provided it at the time the in law bought the car

How on earth did you acquire the nickname "Tarquin Tetley Aloaicious Freebush"?

Some nicknames make sense, country of origin "Paddy or Jock", size "Big Tony", occupation "Spanners, The Knife, Bread", behaviour "Lardass, Barge, Urge": but that??

I have no idea, the guy who came up with it was random to say the least. My surname played a part in Freebush, but, the rest came from the deepest depths of his strange imagination

My next brother down called me "Urge", for many years. It came from my childhood constipation era - I'd have the urge to go: but it was not productive

Four cut knuckles and two frozen hands later though.

Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand.
