I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I like that it is Monday and I'm back to work. Cough

I like ordering glasses which will facilitate starting driving... I don't like the actual glasses, however!

You rarely notice your own glasses, once you're initially used to them.

Glasses are also handy for keeping flying debris out of your eyes, when grinding or brush cutting, if you've omitted to put safety glasses on/over the top of your own.

Although polycarbonate lenses and red hot grindings are poor companions, and result in gritty pocked lenses :( And a big opticians bill :o

I do like how easy truffles are to make, they're setting in the fridge at the moment, but we'll have to wait and see if they taste just as good though, 70% plain chocolate they've been made with, dip finger test with the adding booze proved to be very chocolates and strong... Very alcoholic too, chambord ones, martells ones and baileys ones - about 50/60 it's going to make in total I think

Might make some milk chocolate and white chocolate ones to set off these mighty plain little blighters

I've not made much in the way of confectionary, how easy is easy?

Fudge is supposed to be easy, except all my attempts at fudge turn out like tablet. Which would have fine if I set to make tablet

My Mum is very fond of truffles

Heat double cream (300ml) and unsalted butter (50g) until lightly simmering add to 300g of broken chocolate (I used 74% plain) whisk and bobs your uncle. I separated mine into 3 bowls and boozed them up lol

When they've set I was going to coat some in milk chocolate, some in white chocolate, some in coconut and some more in pistachios

BTW if it curdles just use it as an excuse to add a splash of booze, or a splash of hot water if your doing it with children / tee total

Fudge has always gone wrong for me as well, toffee I can make a treat, but fudge never in a million. I'm considering making little individual lemon meringue pies for work colleagues this week

That's pretty straightforward :)

I'll have go at those, once I've got some chocolate on the next Tesco run

I'm going to try with milk chocolate tomorrow so there's some which are sweeter, I'll let you know how I get on :)

I do like finding a Heko dealer with January sale on and getting a set discounted Hekos for the Focus :)

Hmmm...I'm still not sure if I like them...one day I do, the next I don't lol

Don't really want to spend £25 on a set only to change my mind next week lol

It was Lenny's suggestion for Brandy's comfort, that I might want to fit some. I hadn't thought about them until then

More so, for the moment, while the bespoke dog ventilation system has yet to be installed

The Focus cabin seems to be more sealed than the previous Astra and 406, with regards to Brandy panting inside on the way back, after a long walk.

My dads neighbour seems to have a MK4 P Reg (IIRC) Fiesta sitting on his front lawn...looks in ok nick apart from the door mirrior hanging off. House is a complete dump and needs demolishing but anyway....

Is it weird i fancy it? Would be fun to clean it up etc. doubt my dad would allow it though! :( Made me think of Jamie and his quest for another MK4...

Depends what engine is in it, 1.25 or 1.4 and you are in luck. 1.3 and even I would give it a wide berth.

I loves it when tv affects your judgements. Recently been watching fringe on Netflix.

Got out the house a few minutes ago and found this...

Thought it was strange, and as I headed up the road, I saw every house had them.

First thing I thought about was "it must be a mind control experiment or a mass poison sent to kill us all"

That reminds me of an incident, some years ago, when my mate was working as a weekend milkman. His round included the married quarters of Bovington Army Camp and the nearby estate, where there were a lot young Army families.

Unigate (the dairy he worked for) and Cadbury's were doing a promotion together, he had to leave a small unmarked box on every doorstep, containing a new variety of drinking chocolate.

Nobody thought to inform the Army camp nor the MOD that this was going to take place  . This was at the height of the IRA mainland bombings! :o

Coming to the end of his round, putting the final few boxes out; he was suddenly surrounded by armed MPs. Who ordered him on the ground, then cuffed and arrested him, as a suspected bomber. He was a little bewildered as to why he'd suddenly been arrested: he was only doing his job.

He explained to them, the boxes were a promotion by his employer (Unigate) and Cadbury's; a free box to each household.

Meanwhile, bomb disposal squad had been called in to do controlled explosions on the suspect boxes, on several streets.

I do like a nice Irish beer and Aberdeen burger...

Would that be a local beef to Moray?

Would that be a local beef to Moray?

Aberdeen Angus, surely you have that in England?

We have Aberdeen Angus but not purebreed, Purebreed angus is actually on the endangered cattle list. Longhorn is my favourite beef + favourite cattle in general

Edit: It's actually in a critical list apparently

Yes, we have it here.

I was thinking Aberdeen as an area, where the beef came from rather than a variety of cattle

Not, sure if I have a favourite variety of cattle.

It's wall-to-wall Frisian?? milkers in Dorset, with the odd solitary Guernsey. There may be huge herds of beef cattle secreted away, where Brandy and I haven't ventured yet.

God knows, when i'm back in the UK on Friday i will take some pictures, i can see it through the fence haha.
