Ha I doubt I'll pass until end of July earliest, so you've got plenty of time! How's the learning going anyway?

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

It's going well thanks, got my ninth lesson tomorrow at 20:15 which should be the last one I have before getting behind the wheel of my own car (will be buying the insurance next Wednesday when I get paid).  Once I'm insured for the 405 and am driving myself back and forth to work (plus extra journeys on my days off) I'll be doing over 500 miles per month which should mean that by the time I take my test I'll have over 1,000 miles of driving experience, plus once I get close to my test I plan on going to Edinburgh and Glasgow to get some city experience too.  Although that wouldn't be required for passing my test in my small town, I'd want to have experienced all the driving situations possible so that "village driving" will be no problem at all!

Part of me wishes I'd had the opportunity to do that, then I may not have had quite as much anxiety as I do today.

used to be fun ripping round a field in a v8 powered vw beetle( the original ones of the 1970,s)

we used to take it  in turns  playing"who can stay on the roof longest" while driving in circles as fast you could, then game would imediatly change to "will i get run over after falling off roof"

happy days.lol

Anxiety doesn't work like that...  I've been driving nearly 7 years and it still gets me!!  Funny thing with the test though, I'd had terrible IBS issues that morning and felt dreadful.  And immediately turned the wrong way out of the test centre, left when he said right (it wasn't one way or anything tbf!) so he had to change route...  Then had to change route again when we got stuck at a road blocked off for a flooding drain!  All that took my mind off the actual test which made me relax a bit!  Passed first time somehow...

See this is the kind of perilous fun us 90s kids didn't get!

I lived on a farm and I never got to do that!!!  I got to drive a scraper tractor that was about 40 years old, great fun though as the scraper on the back was to heavy for it, could wheelie it out the pit & drift it round the yard.

Rather you than me around Edinburgh lol.  I went once as a passenger and it was horrific lol.

It wasn't too bad the last time we went, but not the best either!  We've got to go there on holiday this October so I'll probably end up driving through it with or without full licence.

I fear something like that will happen to me if I'm honest! I can do the driving fine, but following instructions is a bit of an issue when you have problems multi-tasking like me.

Ah fair enough, I'd like to go to Edinburgh for a look around with the kids, we were going to come/go this upcoming weekend but decided we'd wait as yes we've got wedding money BUT it'd cost about £100 per night & about the same in petrol just getting there & back & then entrance fees etc.  Shame really, I'd love to visit Scotland as I Want to see the Northern lights(bit late now though) & see some Golden Eagles but Cheryl doesn't seem overly keen on either of them.  But they are on my bucket list so I'm either doing it with her or without her

Beautiful city! Went up for the Christmas Market a few years ago. Not my thing, but I did discover a liking for whisky lol

(The tour is actually quite interesting lol)

You'd be hard pushed to see the northern lights in Edinburgh, its normally too bright in the centre to make it out. The National museum is fantastic however, and completely free :D I have spent many a wet afternoon wandering around in there waiting for trains/people to meet/shows to start.

For both northern lights and golden eagles, you are best heading more north and/or west.

Oh we'd go up for the weekend or something, I know it's to late + to far down to see the northern lights.  I want to go the Castle, Zoo & Museum mainly in Edinburgh

Tour of Edinburgh, doesn't that go around the marina as well?  We went to Brum xmas market + Manchester I enjoyed them both.

I do like taking advantage of the sunny weather by vacuuming out both cars and then getting out of the house for a few hours.

Chuffing long way Scotland and I'm in Yorkshire. I did 1500 miles last year on my grand tour but was well worth it. Scenery is stunning especially the west coast/highlands

I can't wait to go back

See my parts for sale on thread "philf1s Spirit Blue Fiesta ST180 parts for sale"

first proper sunny and warm day this year.

Ooooooo lol

I do like the ever increasing light evenings, sometimes like yesterday, complete with full sunshine and little wind until 8pm:smile:

One day I'll get round to putting some, if not all, of my ever increasing pile of mods to do to the Mk2 Focus.  It's setting up the garden at the moment

I once thought about taking a fortnight or so off and walking up to the lower part of Scotland with Brandy, aiming to do around 50-65 miles a day.  B&Bing in between each trek. When she was a lot younger and could happily manage that.  I doubt she could do more than 15 miles today, so it would be at least a couple of months off.  She finds stairs awkward now too, at the end of the day.

Living around farmland & taking Casper out... we never wear him out, We've had him since he was a puppy & I think he's 6 this year, we've worn him out twice lol, when I say worn out I mean got home & gone straight to his bed instead of being his usual hyper self.  Anyway GMX what's wrong with you, your on here at daytime lol, haven't seen you on here at daytime for a little while

I'm liking the lighter evenings as well.  And mornings as well, thought the early light would make things worse but it seems to be reducing morning lethargy!

Can't see we're getting the warmth though, went to an evening retro car meet last night and although it was still light it was so cold and windy lol!

I do also like that I took the GTi6 down there...noise and revs are awesome when I drive a diesel every day!  Would I want to drive the '6 daily though?  No chance haha.

It was lush yesterday up here & it's nice today here but the wind is making it cold.  For me the lighter mornings don't make a difference at the moment lol, it's still darkish at 5 in the morning

I'm not up at 5 fortunately lol.  Won't be long until you're going to bed in daylight I guess!

I'm not a fan of heat, just wish the cold wind would drop a bit, I do live pretty close to the coat though, almost always windy round here.

Princess Royal coming to school in her helicopter shortly...Will be nice to see some more Royals!

Got a chartered surveyor here at the moment, certifying the plot.

Brandy keeps getting in the way, wagging tails on bouncy dogs and theodolites are not a good mix

Brandy is 16 this September, but despite evening stairs, is still springy and puppy-like during most of the time

Nothing wrong with me, just more time than I had. Since the workload kept increasing, we've hired a few a more staff ( four to date, two more next week) and delegated, and consequently I've freed some hours.
