I'd just like to have a drive, let alone three cars on it

It's strange though, because even if I won the lottery or became very successful, I would never buy sports or super cars.  I'd be quite content with a few more 405s, a MK1 Focus and a 1980s Volvo estate.  But then again, I am very strange!

No you're not! Of course I'd have a Range Rover and maybe an Aston, but I'd love a 306 and a MK1 Focus to preserve! Maybe a Phase 1 106 too... I understand where you're coming from!

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

Glad to hear it.  When I make my millions, we'll have to meet up in our MK1s!

Jamie I was referring to you being asked by a bloke

Thanks Ian, your sympathy is much appreciated...

On a serious note, that's the only offer I've received so far, so I could be 24 before another one comes along.  Lets just hope the next one is from a woman!

Oh I dunno, I found it quite flattering when I was once asked out by a bloke lol

Although, I do have an admirer - I'm afraid the feeling isn't reciprocal...too much going on for a start!!

Things I do like: an awesome day on the water with Scunthorpe Sea Cadets! :-)

I don't like moving my leg and realising my knee had locked in place...  Rather painful, even after 4 glasses of wine.

I have to admit, it was better than nothing!

I've still got my typewriter from the late 1980's, although I dare say it needs a new ribbon by now.  It's been the cupboard since I moved here in 2006, just in case.

"Just in case" may never actually arrive, as it would have be all 9 PCs, 2 laptops and both printers should all fail at the same time. I suppose an extended power outage, would become a "just in case" moment

Have you seen the women of Scotland?  I'd rather die of starvation...

Oh if their accent is anything to go by or they all look like Karen Gillan.  Then I am moving to Scotland.  I love a Scottish accent on a girl, really gets the juices flowing, same for a lass from up north.

An Irish accent is a sexy one too.

Trust me, they don't all look like Karen Gillan...  And as for the accents - well - if you are blind then you'd be more than happy!  If you have the gift of sight, you'd be rather disappointed by the majority.

Come to think of it, I've never actually met an Irish woman...  Perhaps I'll add that to my list of "places to go" when my Lotto numbers come in

A lot of my clients seem to employ Irish women on their reception desks and switchboards

The first of the two replacement melons, more than makes up for yesterday's tasteless watermelon.  It's everything a melon should be:smile:

Although I now have melon juice on the keyboard and a squirt on the middle monitor:rolleyes:

My wife is Irish 😎

Lovely until someone annoys her then the pure Belfast harsh accent comes out 😣

Actually, thinking about it now one of our receptionists at my previous job was Irish, so I retract my previous statement.  I go for the personality and looks most though, accent isn't really an important factor for me.

Yep, looks and personality are more important, an accent is a bonus.

Can I ask what the make/model is?

Ooh rather too many objects in front of the cupboard to get to it at the moment, including the Xerox network printer

From memory, Sharp and the model was 3400 plus some letters, which might have been "PA".  It was one the first ones to have a little memory, it could remember 3 pages of typing, I seem to recall, which was handy when you wanted a copy as well as the original.  It had a single scrolling lcd screen, which I think was 32 characters at at a time.

Ah, so one of the early word processors!  Quite popular in their day, but quickly overtaken by computers.

If you ever make your way into the cupboard and decide to get rid of it, let me know as I'd be happy to buy it from you.

Somewhere I also have a manual Olivetti, it used to accompany me, in the same way laptops and tablets do today.

When i used to do a fair amount of technical authoring, I used to take the Olivetti in the Cortina to some rural idyll, and from the passenger seat type up my articles from my notes, much to the amusement any passer-by:laugh:

The Belfast accent isn't exactly a soft lilting Hollywood style 'bejaysus' type but after 13 years of marriage I'm very used to it.

My mother was born and reared in Belfast, hasnt lived there since 70's but never lost the accent, I can still hear her call echo in my head from downstairs 😠"Leonard!!!"

My wife's accent is a tad Dublin but I've acquired more of a Dublin accent than she ever had having worked with alot of people in the region.

Also on a seperate topic you wouldn't believe the amount of lads have grown Connor McGregor beards and sun glasses,

I went in to petrol station to pay for fuel last week and the guy was ginger and everything I had to comment said "jaysus man, you look just like that fella Connor McGregor"
