Alex.S
1st summer with the car. Also 1st car I鈥檝e had with heated windscreen..which is great in winter.聽 Got caught in really heavy summer downpour there. Steamed up like crazy. Put blowers on full blast , which didn鈥檛 clear it as fast as I鈥檇 have liked.聽 put the heated windscreen on. Cleared up. What鈥檚 the consensus on that ? Blowers or heated windscreen?聽

alexp999
In the summer the aircon should do the job just fine on it's own. I use both in winter though.
TomsFocus
I'd always use the heated screen for interior mist, much quicker... BUT it really rinses battery voltage, so probably best to stick to blowers on a short journey. If you do use the blowers, you really want the AC on, but that's not ideal on a short journey either...聽 It's a more complicated question than it seems! 聽

Tizer
Aircon if it is steaming up on the inside. Putting the Heated Screen on will just turn it from a liquid to a gas, it doesn't make it go away and unless it is purged from the interior it will condense somewhere else like the side windows. SDHXIII
Absolutely spotless clean windows will also help. Microscopic moisture droplets attach to the dirt and dust on the inside of the screen causing the fogging. Getting it spotless is another story altogether.
Guy Heaton
Do you have recirculation on?聽 That will keep moisture in

I can vouch for this, my previous car (non ford) was forever misting up on the windows, a real good scrub with a glass cleaner did wonders, but as said it hard to get it spotless.
granville_focus
Just keep the air conditioning on all the time, best for the a/c also
Frowma
One thing about Air con on a hot day, the car will put the recirc on to save energy, cheaper to keep the cold air cold than pump in hot air from the outside and then cool it! This could lead to the misting up.
alexp999
Just now, Frowma said: One thing about Air con on a hot day, the car will put the recirc on to save energy, cheaper to keep the cold air cold than pump in hot air from the outside and then cool it! This could lead to the misting up. A/C will still de-humidify even with re-circ.
