Mk. 4.5 Delays

Hey when did you put our order in? do you have an estimated delivery date? Curious on current lead times...

I ordered mine mid-June 2022, looking at later October / November delivery.

However, mine was in a 'pre-existing adjustable build slot'

ST - mean green - auto - performance pack - BLIS - safety pack

Its gone to over £40k now, which you have to be careful with as you will be stung with premium road tax, £450+ a year.

However lads, maybe on Friday with the emergency budget, they might take 5% off standard VAT... Maybe...

Well that's crazy. I'm happy for all of us who were able to get these cars before the price increase, but cars are becoming increasingly unaffordable. These increase are too much, and there is no way in hell that they are going to drop since that almost never happens.

I think we will probably be the last generation of consumers who can do a bit of wheeling and dealing.

Majority of manufacturers are looking at different buying models and dropping their reliance on franchise dealerships.

More so, manufacturers have seen that people are willing to pay more for cars, and willing to wait. Supply constraints are never going to end. Its just too profitable. Even VW admitted that the day of high volume, high discount era is over. They also want to go more upscale, which I think is ridiculous for a company that literally means the car for the people.

Another L on the middle class. If there are less new cars, then used cars will become more expensive as well.

Once I pick up my ST I accomplished my dream of owning a sports car. I'll cherish it and keep it forever!

So, after enquiring last week about changing my order from an ST-Line ordered in February, to ST-Line Vignale (or should I say 'X' now) my dealer has just come back and the difference would be almost £4k. Safe to say I won't be changing my current order! It's the same engine spec and gearbox but £4k is just not worth it.

As others are saying on this forum, we're very fortunate we ordered when we did. Some others manufacturers have been known to increase prices of current orders to, but fair play to Ford for honoring existing order prices.

Thanks for the reply! Looking at a good 3-4 months minimum then, especially if it was already in the pipeline!

I'm trying to steer clear of the £40k mark for that exact reason! I can make it £39660 which covers everything I "want".

Estate ST - Mean Green - Manual - BLIS - Driver Assist - Hands Free tailgate

Hopefully I can get an order down soon, I'm expecting a good 6-9month wait still!

This will be a dream for me too, albeit a little different, but to own a brand new car! 🙏

I’ve seen some people on social media saying that the dock strikes are going to affect delivery times for Ford cars. Does anybody know which docks Ford use and if this is in fact the case?

I know the pumas come through the docks in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. (New Flush) Then on to a boat to be shipped to Southampton docks. They then go to the compounds in Dagenham.

sits in Dagenham for a while before transport to the UK dealers.

Not sure on the focus route, but should should be similar right?

The car world is going crazy...

Went to the dealer today and saw my mk3,5 In the park, priced at 18500euro... January 2018, 118k on the clock.

I really think that didn't made the change of the century, build quality onder the dash is rubbysh compare to the mk3,5, door handles, etc.

Pricing at the moment is crazy. So Kudos to Ford that kept prices from original orders.

I agree with the most that has been said in last few posts but I can't believe that those car prices will be sustainable in long time, ppl will not be able to afford cars does not matter new nor used.

P.s. I love my estate, mhev powertrain is a bit different/odd, when I use engine to break it is way sharper than normal one, but I will get used to it.

Hi D Day.

Yeah it's strange isn't it.

Do you find it worse in sport mode?

I think it does that to recover the most energy to provide as much electric assistance on your next acceleration. I find it a bit difficult to drive in a smooth manner with it.

Like you say, it'll be second nature after a while though.

I was hoping they'd release a diesel in the facelift as I might have considered swapping.  I can't take the jerky brake regeneration on the MHEV which really sealed it's fate with me!  Had a non-MHEV 125 in the past and hated that even in the lighter Mk3, so wouldn't entertain it in the Mk4.  (Should add, I really like the 155 MHEV as an engine, it's just not suitable for my body.  I need something super smooth & controllable.)

With the loss of half leathers from the Titanium X I'd be stuck with a standard Titanium, assuming the full leathers are as solid, uncomfortable and vibration transmitting as those in my Vignale.  Though I'm not seeing much other difference between T & TX.  Titanium comes with cruise & climate, and even keyless & powerfold mirrors.

I know everything is twist beam now, but the IRS on my Active isn't comfortable so perhaps I'll have to try something twist beam.

Not worse but not so much of a difference compared to my old MK4 1.0 100hp where if I use sport mode I have much more power....

Does the Titanium X have IRS or it's just Active only? Because I can feel the difference between my old Trend(Zetec in UK) and the new Titanium X, the new X seems to be more controllable at higher speeds in the corners

Neither the Titanium X or Active have IRS in the UK.  The only way I got IRS back in 2021 was to buy a proper Vignale spec (either hatch or Active).  But now that spec no longer exists in the UK, there's no way to get IRS on standard models here now.

I reckon the difference you can feel is caused by the lower profile tyres & larger alloys on the Titanium X compared to Trend/Zetec.

Do you feel that the engine break / retarding from the hybrid is even stronger when in sport mode too?....

I just got the complete VIN from my dealer and confirmation the car has been manufactured completely.

It is now undergoing paperwork, hopefully next will will be shipped from Saarlouis.

I tried to make them speed the process a bit, so it would not take the usual 2 months for RO deliveries. The only way to do that is by paying it in cash and in advance in full. Lets see how that goes...

It should arrive by the end of October as that is the exact date my order will be 12 months old.

Can someone please tell me, if you haven't specced a rear-view camera (parking pack), do you still get an optical display on the screen with trims which are equipped with front and rear sensors? Or do the sensors just beep but the screen doesn't show the distance?

The usual delivery for RO it's 1 month not 2 months, at least this is what was my case and other people case.

That was the case (2 months) for all Fords my colleagues got in the last years, over 5 cars (including my mk3.5, 5 years ago). So I guess it's also related to which regions of the country it goes. If you are closer to BUC it arrives way faster.

The logic behind it is related to cost of transport. Some insider commented that Ford RO is the one who is responsible for all transport until it arrives at the dealer. So they try to bundle as many cars as possible and pay the cheapest price. So the haulers some times just refuse to transport them until they are out of other orders that pay way better. I know it sounds stupefying.. but that is corporate greed.

Hi guys, bad news for my order unfortunately. According to Ford, there are two possible scenarios. One is a build date of November and the other one is a 2023.25MY build date around mid January, with January being the most likely build date. 🥲

If anything like our 21 plate tit X - it should show on the screen with distances with coloured bands with pips in different tones for closeness. different tone of pip for front and back as well.

Yes they definitely have an optical display on the mk4.5 with the sync 4 display.

You can see them in the images of cars for sale on autotrader.

Popped into Ford Sandicliffe today, who have confirmed they can place orders for the facelift focus! 🙌 They are being advised builds will begin in November, starting with previous back orders. Expected delivery will be March.

Now to convince the Boss Lady to let me order 🤞 even with the increase in price, the figures are still working ok-ish 😬
