Your dealer may not be able to give a build date as that will be down to the factory but surely must be able to tell you if you will still get the engine ordered..

Nope cant give us any more information than latest update .  Gave us ford customer service number and email 

Sorry to hear almost 4 weeks at the factory and no release yet.

Plus some uncertainty on diesels.

It isn't just me who keeps thinking about giving up on the whole thing is it?

 

My friends car has now been at Dagenham for 3 weeks and no idea idea when it will be delivered to their dealer. Ford just keep pushing the estimate back 1 week each time it doesn’t make it! Dealer even told them they will only know when the car is going to arrive when the transport driver calls 15 minutes before it’s dropped off (which seems crazy to me).

 

Looking at the above with shipping delays at factory, ports etc. as well still with little to no useful communication it does seem like it doesn’t get much better after build either which is a great shame. Hope everyone gets the cars they ordered soon!

I’ve thought about it in the past because it’s a stressful and tiring experience for something that is meant to be so joyful as getting a new car. The conclusion I (and I would guess others that have the same thoughts) came to every time was that if I actually really wanted/needed a new car there wasn’t much choice other than to just stick it out or end up getting a significantly worse deal on something stock, used or different model that just wouldn’t be worth it.

Yeah agreed on that totally. I was just feeling a little peed off with it all last night. Having been given a build date only for it to slip again, and then realising when it is built, that I'm still in for weeks / months worth of uncertainty.

In the end, whenever I look at alternative used cars, I keep coming back to the focus, as that's what I want. I also don't want to give up as its my first new car, and I really want to have the experience.

Maybe I should chill. Sit back and get on with life, and not obsess about it. It'll come when it comes.

I do find that difficult to do though.

If everyone started cancelling repeatedly delayed orders, I'm sure things would change at Ford pretty quickly!  It won't happen though.

The Mk4 was also my first new car after 50 odd used cars...  The new car experience wasn't what I'd hoped at all.

Not focus related but still valid, a friend have ordered a fiesta st, In the transition to the facelift, imperial blue, B&O, panoramic roof, matrix Led. First punch In the stomach, In the facelift there's no imperial blue. Not the end of the world, meen green isn't the option, maybe some grey. Time counting and no car, no news, no info, no nothing. He pretty must give up on the ideia, Ford wasn't making cars and not giving any info. We have a mutual friend working on a dealer that ring him If a question, do you still want A car, caps to the a. That dealer catch up 3 fiesta st meen green, there's no B&O, no pano roof and sold them without a strougle making just 3 calls. All that to say that we are getting to a time that we dont pick the car, the car picks us. Lucky us If we all get the car we choose, not the car ford decides...

It seems there area a lot of cars being built but then stuck at the factory. It is clear parts are missing and no official answer on when these will arrive or what exactly these would be (favorite rumour is Matrix LEDs).

By now there should be thousands of unfinished cars in Saarlouis parking lots. Too bad we don't have inside information.

Was driving my boring Leon through the rain this afternoon, slightly peed off...

Looked to my right and there was a 4.5 ST Line in grey. It restored my faith a bit..... such a nice car. Face-lift touches really do make it.

Saw the man inside adjusting something on the sync 4, and thought, I can wait a while longer for me badge right? 😀 

I have my 11 digit VIN, nothing is appearing on ETIS or app even with the prefix, at least i know its progressing in the queue.

Pleased to see a few orders progressing, although disappointing to sees others are not 😔 

Quick question: I placed my order at the dealership on Friday 23rd September. Subsequently I have received an email this week from Ford saying "Thanks for your interest in Ford. We've received your details and can't wait to share the latest updates with you.” I've set an account up on the Ford website via the email link (not sure if I was meant to?), But there is nothing showing 🤷‍♂️ no orders etc, just my details I've entered. 

Any ideas? Is it just a ploy to get you into their marketing emails? 😅 Or will this update/populate over time? I'm not expecting much to have actually happened within a week to be fair! 

Any advice/info would be great! 😁

I dont think so, not everyone got an email directly from Ford

Latest update on my ST Line Vignale Auto 155ps In fantastic red with parking pack, ordered on the 3rd February. The car was built on the 28th September and anticipated delivery to the dealer of the 5th November 

Futher update car is segmentation stage whatever that means and we have a partial vin .new build date of 13th October with eta to dealer in November .   

That means it is missing essential parts and it can't be built.

It seems a new wave of more and more missing parts has hit Saarlouis. 😐

Ditto, my car has been in Dagenham for 3 weeks now. Dealer had no idea when it'll be transported to them

Ditto for me too - me Puma sat in Dag for nearly six weeks then turned up at my dealers unexpectedly!!....

Got confirmation from my dealer that the cars are being built incomplete now and they will not ship them until all parts arrive.

Ford did not want to give details on what components are missing, but the bad news is that they do not have an estimate on when these will be procured and cars will be finished.

It can take weeks to months... 🤢

I had a estimated delivery date of 1st October but that slipped and my new Focus arrived at the dealer today. It’s just a shame that I’m away with work now for two weeks and will have to wait to pick it up!

I did have a little look round it and it looks good! Not bad considering that i ordered this mid November!

Do you by any chance know when yours was built? 

As of October 1st Ford have put focus back on motability, pretty good selection about 25 options. Active, Titanium and ST Line but no mention of Vignale 🧐 

Previously (mk4) an X meant higher spec , then afaik they changed that (mk4.5) to ST Line Vignale or Active Vignale etc. 

Very expensive compared to 3 years ago but at least they offer the 155 mh with an automatic gearbox. 
I wonder what the spec difference is, I’ll have to look at the ford website I guess , cause it’s always up to date  😳 

Hi Alex, looks like Vignale trim has been dropped already according to website. ST Line X appears to have replaced ST Line Vignale, spec looks to be similar. Website is a shambles, has images of Vignale trim models but the compare models section and configurator has replaced Vignale with X
