I am really impressed with the engine/gearbox, I drive with cruise control on most of the time. Today I noticed going down a hill with CC on that the car was trying to maintain 30 going down the hill, and it did maintain. Kinda cool I thought!

Sorry, reread that. I mean because the regenerative breaking was being used by the car to keep it at 30.

It’s really nice, very clear. If I had to describe it I would say it’s sprightly in n high end and has impressive bass. I have a not ‘inexpensive’ home cinema setup and I’m not disappointed with the car audio.

Bit of good news today. Dealer just told me my car should be ready to collect next week

So it took about 6-7 weeks after leaving the factory?

Do you know what date it was built on? 

I didnt get given the completed build date unfortunately

In my case it's awful, I only feel that it has more bass compared to the standard sound system in the MK4, otherwise it's nothing impressive...

Maybe playing around with the sound equaliser or sound settings can help? 

It's not the settings. It's the lack of soundproofing in the doors and low quality of the middle pannel in them.

I have already ordered a sound proofing Kit with all 3 layers. Will apply 2 on the exterior sheet, 1 on the middle and foam on  the inside panel.

I will do it my self during the summer 😄 

I'm not massively impressed with the B&O in the Mk4 myself.  Premium system in the Mk2 was more 'rounded' even without a sub.  Mk4 does have low end bass and high end treble, but not in a pleasant way imo.  It is better quality than the standard system in my Golf though.

As for the doors, I'm surprised they don't bend when opening lol.  First modern car I've had without a satisfying dull thud when closing the door, just a horrible tinny rattle like a Saxo!!  (Door edge protectors are partly to blame).

That sucks you guys are having a bad experience, I had mine at 15 earlier and it was great no rattling

Exactly, the door edge protectors make the car to sound so bad, but they're massive compared to my standard MK4(Trend or Zetec in UK) 

Well my saga is over, collected my car and the specs match what was ordered. 

 

Looks stunning, photos to follow shortly, I've also already used Forscan to enable Auto lock of the doors when moving and that works too. 

It the general verdict that people are happy with the cars once received? Quality/value etc?

Also, I was told today that the expected value at the end of the PCP term has increased so my monthly cost is cheaper than expected

Modules changed: BdyCM & IPC

BdyCM: Change Auto Lock - Vechile to enabled. 

BdyCM: Change Auto Lock - Intial Value to enabled. 

IPC: Change Auto Lock to enabled.

 

One thing I have noticed is I couldn't find this in the cluster or sync 4 menu to turn on/off but it has worked anyway, doors lock when I reach 12-15mph

I’ve had a 2017 Fiesta ST Line X manual (loved)

2018 Focus ST Line (*****) manual - (hated the spec) felt cheap

2023 Focus ST Line Vignale auto  - (love this one)

Someone mentioned the BO system being awful but I don’t find that the case, and also someone mentioned the doors not sounding nice, I checked this earlier it makes a reassuring THUD. I’ve only got the 125 but it wants to go when you put the foot down but equally just cruising in it you feel like a king. I’m constantly trying to find excuses to get out in it, wife is rolling her eyes at me lol The interior is just incredible!

This morning I remote started the car, jumping in 10 mins later, car is warm, seats and steering wheel just perfect. Phone in my pocket but carplay connects and my music starts playing. I am a very happy man!

Focus. Best car I've ever owned, albeit a £100 mk1 saloon. Still was though. 

Can't wait to detail the thing too. I've a number of products waiting to go on the paintwork.

Funny you mention heading out for milk. Was WFH today and 1st tea break I’m off out to the shop that’s 30secs down the road, except I remember you shouldn’t take the car for short journeys so I had to take a 30 min detour all along the outskirts of the city before coming back. Great minds lol

Supposed to be built yesterday. Based on my est date which is 25th Nov, but also what others have said, maybe the first week or two of December.

That's intresting, there has just been someone asking about doing that on the new Mk4.5

They say that the settings are not in the IPC anymore and they can't add them to the SYNC4 screen, using FORScan. Did you manage to get the menu added for the locking using FORScan ?
