That's intresting, there has just been someone asking about doing that on the new Mk4.5

They say that the settings are not in the IPC anymore and they can't add them to the SYNC4 screen, using FORScan. Did you manage to get the menu added for the locking using FORScan ?

That was me 😁, I have the main thing working but no ability to turn it on/off in a user friendly way like vechile settings

Doh !!!

Well at least you have it working for now 👍

Some good news for me, got told on Thursday my car was booked to arrive on Friday. Down side is the guy who was dealing with it (sales manager I believe) is on annual leave until next week now. I could probably get it before he's back but I don't particularly trust the other sales rep I've been dealing with to handle it right (he originally told me I couldn't change the spec of the order, he hasn't confirmed my car has arrived and hasn't emailed regarding part ex as I was told he would) so I'm going to hold off until the manager is back in, I've waited this long already another week should be fine.

It's the 155 auto ST Vignale hatchback, ordered November 21 and based in Scotland for those wondering

Booked mine in to get remapped on Wednesday

Update this morning.

Agate black st line vig, 155ps, manual, matrix headlights and sunroof ordered 5th March.

It did go into build 13th Oct, and is currently body off line, waiting to be completed. Dunno if that implies waiting missing parts.

I have a vin, and it's showing in etis.

Question for you all...

What can you actually do with etis?

Just see that I exists and that's all?

Basically that's about it from what I can see without a professional account on the new platforms replacing the old Etis.

Free service is that, see software version on modules, any update released by ford to the modules, service history and its about it. If you register a account and pay you can have full acess for limited time, 1 day to a year.

Your graphics are slightly different to mine on the HUD screen. I don't get the rectangle graphic between the two lines (lane assist markers) that yours is showing above your 0 mph.

Enjoy the new car 👍

Can't wait to detail the thing too. I've a number of products waiting to go on the paintwork.

I'm intrigued by this 😏 I'm quite into detailing myself and considering having a ceramic coat put on her when she arrives.

P&S Dream Maker Gloss Amplifer is one of the best things I've purchased for ages.

Adds no protection, but on top of a decent wax, really does add another dimension to the look.

Best 13 quid I've spent.

Works better on dark colours

I got an email from my dealer this morning to say they’re expecting my car to arrive this week with handover being early next week. I ordered an ST Line Vignale (1.5 Diesel Automatic) in Agate black back on the 17th of Feb. I’ve requested the car not to be washed as it’s going to my detailer to be machine polished and ceramic coated, I’m also having PPF applied to the headlights and B Pillars.

I'll have a look into it!

I found um Cars earlier this year, and it completely changed the way I wash my car, and really got me into detailing at an entry level!

*Edit* that stuff looks similar in product to Yum Cars Detailer 👍

Something I might just have to consider! I definitely don't want them washing it! But can I really be without my brand new car for upto 3 days for ceramic? 😅

I have said this before on here, but we saw a brand new puma being washed with one of those wash brooms at our local dealer.

Nooooooooooooo.

I'll be asking them to leave the dirt on it, and I'll wash it mesen.

That'll be adaptive cruise control

I also found out online that the Voice control button on the steering wheel which used to activate Google Assistant or Siri works differently.

Single press activates Ford Assist whilst a longer press triggers Google Assistant / Siri.

Seems to be a Sync 4 thing and I've not tested it yet

Talking to a friend last night saying he's seen the same! BMW dealership with a long telescopic brush which has a hose attached to the end cleaning down a brand new BMW! Crazy!

How are you supposed to wash your car? I usually take it to the self-wash service and use the wand to get rid of most of the dirt, before wiping away the water and washing the finer creaks with a sponge.

That right there is a very big question! 😅

I jet wash, apply pre wash and foam, rinse off, wash with a microfiber mitt, rinse off, blow dry and pat dry, gloss. Several different microfiber clothes and mitts/pads, detailing brushes, buckets etc 😅

Sponges are big no go for me. The idea is to wash your car with touching it as little as possible. Everything that touches your car is abrasive, and sponges can easily pick up a tiny bit of dirt and that can carry around the car. You end up with swirls/spider webs and marring over the paint work.

The thought of someone taking a brush to my paintwork makes my skin crawl! 😬

This really depends on your eyesight...if it's poor enough not to see swirls in sunlit paintwork then you might as well just use a gritty sponge and drying blade to take the worst off.

Solved this!

So for Sync 4 where vechile settings now lives you need to modify the following if you want to turn Auto Lock on/off via Sync 4

Module: APIM

Entry: Auto Lock Control Function

Value: Enabled

Got that on mk4 sync3.3

id use Carplay all the time but got used to live traffic and my music is just as easy on Bluetooth .

Does your cars rubbers surrounding the doors look dry, maybe a litle white powder aspect?

This a mk4 you’re talking about?

Is anyone waiting on a Diesel?

Something strange seems to be happening with them.

2 users on the German forum have been told of a power reduction from 120 to 115 ps.

Also, the diesel isn't selectable on the UK site at the moment in the configurator.

The 5 fewer horses I can’t explain but like it or not we’re going electric. Petrol and diesel models are being phased out. Ford imo are behind in terms of transition to electric.
