Fiesta Silver1.4
hey guys, just pondering. Ive been surfing the net and seen all kinds of mods/chips etc for my car. Not looking to buy one cos it will most likly blow my car up. But i saw one on eBay for around £10 and it is +20% BHP Performance Mod... The company claiming this are selling Resistors or something. I just want to know are these the real deal or just morons selling crap for cash? rob
vinnyvangough
It does work but it dont give performance like that. From what i gather its a resistor that you fit that tells your ECU that your car is getting more air than it actually is so it trys to compensate by chucking more fuel in, resulting it in running rich. Please correct me if i am wrong people.
Fiesta Silver1.4
Ye that is all about i know. Says it can give a fuzzy about 4-8bhp increase. but for that i wouldnt even bother. They also say it will increse MPG. But if the engine is hurling more fuel in wont it burn more much faster?
vamp2k05
wouldnt waste my money on chips as the size of the engine you wouldnt realy notice a difference plus buying from eBay you can get scammed very easly with fakes

chrispy
hi ive just read all of your comments on the chip for the fuzzy. ive bought a +15bhp chip from celox performance on eBay. ive had it in for about 1500 miles now and it has drastically reduced my fuel consumption which is good as i travel a good distance to work. it also seems to give more acceleration and ive got a mk5 1.3. and i feel a difference so i dont really think it matters about the engine size. :)

These are proper and are mapped correctly before sale, so they do do a good job of making an engine a bit more efficient. Id never bother remapping an NA engine though unless id put a lairy cam in it, but you seem to be happy, and thats the aim of the game :) The resistors on the other hand are a complete waste of time and money. Too many people think more fuel = more speed when it wont do sod all unles you flow more air at the same time. And its flowing the air that costs the money! artscot79
people just for your advise do not i mean do not buy these off ebay as it will screw your car up and the cost 25p from b and q me and a friend try these on a escort after a month flooded engine then loads of other problems started the resistors will eventually damage the car as most of the sensors are linked intake temp coolant temp head temp etc etc all the resistor does is tell the car its constantly cold which it isnt so youre overfuelling which will screw up youre plugs and cause running problems the chips are debateable if its a tuning company thats fine but just a chip that claims its set for youre car i woul;dnt touch even preprogrammed chips a decent tuner will still monitor the car as its fitted then test it afterwards the work with all the sensors the celox chip is a resistor if you go to there website all it does is say the cars colder than it is advancing the ignition the celox chip is the same 20p resistor in a fancy box you are aware that youre car is now suffering from pre ignition which is not good can destroy an engine read the leaflet that comes with it also gives a disclaimer from Celox saying they accept no responsibility for any damage that occurs to the car as a result of installing their 'performance' product note performance in brackets lol these guys should be shut down search the net many have destroyed there engines with this junk they just rebarand with a new name.. steer clear if you want performance like anything you have to pay wether it be a remap or sports cat and aftermarket exhaust
