Icv Change?

Featured Replies

Hi all my mothers R reg ford ka is cutting out when cold i had this on an old escort before and changed it and it worked fine.Unfortunately tomorow my escort will be no longer with us as its being scrapped i was just wondering if the icv from the 1.3 1998 escort will fit the 1997 ka

Looking on eBay, they look like they are the same for both cars. However check the connections are the same as some have an oval and some a square connector.

Well i changed it and it still goes to cut out ater a few mins oh well :)

Check the vacuum lines, make sure the intake isnt taking in air. There is one to the throttle body that can perish after a number of years.

Also, when was the air and fuel filter last changed?

I changed the fuel and air filter about six months ago when she first had the car it just seems to run fine on start up for about 5 mins then starts to die after that once its warmed its fine
