welshy_maverick
Hopefully the title sums it up? If you have a car on a ford PCP can you paint the OEM alloys and still return the car at the end of your finance deal with no issues or penalties or do you HAVE to spend the extra and buy new alloys and store the OEM ones to put them back on the car when you want to return the car? Any help/experience appreciated...
iNath
Check with your dealer but I think that it would be fine, the only issue being that when you come to hand it back if it has adversely affected the value of the vehicle and you're then in negative equity you'd be liable to pay the difference. JonnnyH
I've got a HPA agreement rather than PCP but a clause in my agreement states; You must not make any modifications to the vehicle without our prior written permission except where you are required to do so by law. The vehicle must be returned to its original specification prior to its return to us, failing which any customised parts will become our property. It says that on my agreement too but thats only if you hand the car back and walk away, ive always taken a 6000 miles per year contract but every time i change the car just gets valued at its current millage and they make me a part ex offer, irrelevant of the 6000 mile clause...only relevant if i just want to hand back and not take a new car the dealer says!! alexp999
You have to remember that the car is not entirely yours even if you plan to keep it, until the agreement ends. Sure if you don't give the car back they may never find out, but legally with that clause present, they would need to ok it.
