Things I Don't Like

Featured Replies

I was going to complain about my pension fund, the result of decades of hard graft, dropping £9000 in one day.

Bur Tom's "don't like" is more immediate, more interesting, has nothing to do with politics, and more amusinglaugh.png, so my vote goes to that!

I need a few things to make me smile, at the moment. Anyone got any more?

I don't like the sudden groaning noise coming from the power supply unit on my main PC:sad:  Especially as I haven't any spares of that capacity to swap it over for, should the fan be dying.  I do have loads of spare fans but whether they're the right size, is another matter:mellow:

I don't like all the hoohah following the eu referendum.... Young people telling old people they'll be dead soon and won't have to deal with it....

Talk about ridiculous. Amusingly I've seen on social media posts about "Happy Adolf Hitler day" in retort to the 'minority' wanting to change what the 'majority' think..

Also frankly, some of the reasons I've heard people voting for have been ridiculous... "Imagine going up to the airport and having to get a visa and pay for that visa"......yeh imagine that... Imagine basing everything on the concern that you may or may not have to get a visa!?!? No wonder people say the younger generation are morons if those are their arguments!!!

I agree with you however, I voted out mainly because there aren't enough reasons in my mind to stay in.  No I'm not on about immigration, I work with foreigners and they're a right laugh all of them.  But some of the posh twits from my school, well I've deleted them lol.  All of them have put up that we've ruined the country etc, one girl put she is ashamed to be british, I put well F off out then & deleted her, one lad put he's struggling to come to terms with the referendum.  What a bunch of attention seekers.  They're only moaning because mummy & daddy might be worse of & mummy & daddy might not have enough to fork out for their Uni fee's.  Instead of going out & earning a living

About the same size yeah!  No limbs though...

I don't like the fact my mother can insure a V6 SUV for £400 per year when I'd be paying £1,200 for a turbo diesel saloon...

That said, I'm not overly bothered, as once I pass my test I'd happily pay anything (up to a point of course!) to drive my car, and providing I don't get involved in a tort accident, it can only go down!

Once you've got your test and a few years of NCD, it'll be a couple of hundred.

Really?  That's better than I thought!

My insurance started off at about £300 a month on a 1.3 van, then £220 a month on the Disastra.  I got the Disastra down to £74 pound a month & then I back ended some old geezer in a Zafira because he jammed the brakes on in the wet.  Lost 4 years no claims & now my insurance I've just renewed it at £107 a month, it was £143 last month.  Thing was it was a 62 plate Zafira and it didn't even mark it, pushed the bumper in a bit, cost about £400 to fix & he was adamant to do it through the insurance & it wrote my car off.  He had a car full of people as well, so I Think they milked it a bit, crash for cash sort of thing

I don't like indecision...  I know I could get a good deal on a couple of pairs of glasses (50% off and free second pair), but need to keep my spending to a minimum this month...  I do already have one pair of sunglasses and one pair of clear lenses, although the clear lenses are rather scratched.

Yes, I know - hardly the most serious of decisions to be made in everyday life, but it counts as my "don't like" for the day!

Good Lord, £300pm for a 1.3!?  My monthly payments for a 1.9 turbo diesel (405) will only be £110 per month with a £200 deposit.  Mind you, I'm presuming you were 17 when you passed your test?  Me being 20 may have something to do with the lower price.

19 but I live in a very rural area.  I'd even built up no claims as a learner but hey ho.

I think we're about the same age Matt...how did you end up paying £300 a month even at 17!?

Rural area is usually an A rated post code, or at least mine was lol.  Was £1500 for the year on a 1.4 306 at 17 in 2009.  No increase for swapping 13" steels to 15" alloys either.

Went up to £2k the next year as I bought a newer one and modified it (stupidly!) but dropped considerably after that.  Now it's been hanging around £400 a year for the last few years, be interesting to see if it drops at 25 next year but I can't see it myself!

It was my understanding that a rural area would bring premiums down not up!  Oh well, at least they are starting to come down now, unless any other idiot Vauxhall drivers hit you.

Mine went down when I brought my car to be fair.  And even with the mods I did to it, it didn't add any extra, only had to pay a £30 admin fee

Noo I lived on a farm & it was a van with no added security so it was bound to be high.  I'd get £10k if someone hit me now lol so is that a good thing or a bad thing

I don't like the fact that leaving the EU will increase the cost of my two vices...  That said, it may be worth it compared to the costs of staying in.

I don't like that tonight Brandy has had a couple explosive diahorrea events:sad:  My Mum kept giving her bowls of milk, having forgotten she'd already given her one.  Brandy will happily lap each bowl that is presented to her, and not thinking one bowl is pleasant, two bowls is a bit iffy and three plus bowls is "I hope the kitchen door is open and I can make it to the driveway/lawn!"

It drops a bit but I was surprised by how little, the drop at 30 is greater I found

Vintage vacuum cleaners and Peugeots??

Although, I have seen several references on the BBC web site to vacuum cleaners now being unburdened from EU restrictions:laugh:

I'd imagine he means booze and cig's

There is instability at the moment because all the big corporations are messing themselves over the 'uncertainty' and in doing so, they're creating this uncertainty...

It'll all calm down and more or less go back to the usual sort of thing...

As for the visa side of things?!? Big deal, it'll either not happen (for instance you don't need a visa to go to Canada due to agreements between us and them), or it will happen, in which case it'll be something you can buy on the border, it won't cost much... again, if you travel to Canada, you can head down to USA for the day and just pick up a visa on the border... it's no big deal... all those teens worrying themselves about "how am I going to travel now?!?!" come off it, there is a world outside of Europe you half wits and not to mention how did anyone travel before the EU?!?! They just got on with it you lazy bunch of plebs!

You crack me up, you really do!!

I don't like being hungry whilst in the vicinity of a Burger King...  Yep, I did it again - ordered a burger which is now giving me severe stomach pains and undoubtedly an urgent trip to the toilet soon.  I don't know why I keep doing it as I know fine well what the outcome is, but still buy food from there.  It isn't even like it is particularly tasty!

Brandy knows how you feel, she's still suffering from her milk overdose yesterday

We both have the same problem - thinking it is a good idea at the time and then regretting it later...

I don't like & bear with me.  The new Focus ST.  There is a black one(16) on my estate & it looks naff, looks to high & to normal.  HOWEVER there are 3 beautiful mk3's One is, scream with black alloys & that is gorgeous, one is white & mountuned, & one is black with silver aftermarket splitter & weird coloured alloys.  I much prefer the mk3 over the 3.5.  That mountuned ST, I tried keeping up with it/encouraging him to boot it.  It sounds beautiful, he has a full Miltek system on it & it goes like stink.  I might be tempted to steal it, only trouble is he is an army boy and he is (as quoted in commando) ONE BIGGGGGGG MOTHER******

I don't like my evening tipple (sparkling flavoured water!) being flat...and upon further investigation...finding out it's the still version.  Why would you put them in identical bottles bar one tiny word!!
