We had several episodes of torrential rain this afternoon, the onset of which, seemed to coincide with every time I went to do something in the garden:huh:

Happened everytime for me to, managed to paint both front calipers though so that's ok.  Haven't washed either of the cars though.  However I did take the towbar off for my friend to pick up tomorrow.

I don't like getting caught in torrential rain whilst driving the 405 with it's crap Roadstone tyres down country roads with hardly any drainage.  I think a boat would have suited the water levels better.

Thank goodness I fitted Bosch Super Plus wipers so I could at least see where I was floating laugh.png

Don't talk to me about chuffin' boats!!

After a series of breakdowns, I was asked to go pick up a boat from Grimsby and return to Lincoln.

As I was coming into Lincoln, I started hearing a rhythmic clunk that was also felt through the car.

Eased into Lincoln unit to discover the NS wheel was err...well...look at the pic!!

Some wazzock (and I know who) changed the wheels a couple of weeks ago. I attached the OS one, he the NS. Obviously didn't tighten the nuts properly!! Imagine if that had gone when I was doing 50-60mph!!

Now, I know some of you will be thinking that I should have checked it before I left. Since the wheel change, the boat has been transported around town without problem. As I was lashing the boat down, I did check and nothing was obviously wrong or loose.

This has ruined my weekend.  I haven't been paid.  I'm supposed to get paid on the first of every month and it's now the 3rd and I haven't been paid yet again.  The boss reckons they're not trying to make me leave but with my massive drop in hours and now this they are going a very good way about it.  I wanted to take the kids down to Woolacombe beach this weekend but that's had to go out the window.  Weekend off has been ruined.  There is also a local lad around me that's offering vehicle detailing, which consists of a wash, decontamination, interior clean & a stage 3 polish.  For a flat rate of £40 and in about 3 hours dependent on vehicle condition.  Yea right mate dream on

Remind your boss on the law about getting paid. If your money hasn't been paid to you by Monday then tell him your going to sue him and he'll be charged 14% per day till he pays up.

That was me every month at my last job.  Meant to be paid on the last Friday of every month and lo and behold, every "last Friday" came and went without any payment to my bank account.

It wasn't very good for my self-confidence having to practically beg for my (diminutive) wages every month.

At least that's the one thing about my new job, is that the company is so big that the wages are always paid on time (if not early) and for the right amount.

I don't like the boredom levels today....  Thought it was about 5pm, just checked an its quarter past 1!?  Sigh...need to find something free to kill a few hours lol.

I wish it was still quarter past one!!  Today is my day off before work on Monday and Tuesday, so bored or not I want today to drag on for as long as possible.

Already thought about it with the hours. If I don't get paid I just won't turn up.  Simples

It's difficult really as my last job I could ask the boss to pay me whenever & it was in my bank an hour later, yea I've already had to have a word about my hours, told them if they don't get sorted I'm leaving, as I can't live off the hours they've given me this month.  Jumped from the frying pan to the fire

I know the feeling, only I was pushed - but hey ho.

I've been thinking about my career tonight as it happens, and decided that when I pass my driving test (hopefully next month) I'll go for a driving job (self employed courier or similar) and focus on getting a qualification that should get me back into an office environment where I can actually use my intellegence.

At my last job I used to practically run the office, and managed sales of properties in excess of £250,000 but because I don't have anything on paper, I could never get another job like that.  I only got that one because it started as an apprenticeship.

I wasn't pushed, infact they said I'm welcome back with open arms but I doubt that with their milk price + how far away they are otherwise wouldn't see me for dust.  If you've got the experience then go for it dude.  Only Ag qualification I have is foot trimming & I'm getting put through a Telehandler course by my father in law.  Otherwise mine is all experience, I love farming but I want to go off on my own or where I used to work but closer to home lol.  I've built up a good reputation for myself though as a loyal and good/hardworker, as a few people have said to me oh I've heard about you, your name precedes you.  I applied for my dream job in Kent & came 3rd out of 128, was the only person to turn up in a suite, only person to do research & only person to turn up early and I gave a good interview, only reason was I was  a bit young and didn't have enough experience for that role.

Lets hope that things work out for both of us!

The main problem for me at the moment is (aside from a lack of formal qualifications) that my current job is one where I cannot use my skills, nor show that I have them or else I will become a threat and then my days are numbered.  I have to "dumb myself down" in order to fit in and keep my job, and after doing that for 14 months I have started to lose my confidence in doing anything better.

A bit like if you stopped driving for a year, you would begin to doubt whether you could do it again or not.

Get out then matey if you've got to dumb yourself down.  Not working in the TOWIE are you lmao.  I've just had a moment of panic looking at jobs, just thought, my life is a mess lol.

I don't like another problem with the 405!!  After work tonight I got in the car, turned the headlamps on as it was raining heavily and proceeded to start the engine (or try to), only to get a whining noise from the starter.  I tried it twice and it didn't engage, so turned the headlamps off and lo and behold it started first time.

Not sure if it was a fluke or if the drain of the lights was creating an issue with the starter solenoid engaging.

Either way, that's another problem looming...  WONDERFUL! :wallbash:

I don't like that some schemey little website has been publishing some of my guides, passing them off as their own and not even having the decency to give due credit or at least a link to the original source.

I don't like clearing my cupboard out and coming across the owner's guide from the old Fiesta...  God I miss that car!

I never understand why people turn on lights before engine?  Your poor battery has sat all day, draining through the stereo and clock, then you chuck a massive drain on it before the drain of glowplugs and starter motor...  No wonder the poor thing struggled!!

One of my college mates used to do the same, and always moan his car took longer to start in the evening...wonder why...

Yes I know, but the fact it whined meant it was a starter issue surely?  If it was just low power it would have turned over slowly or clicked.

In my defense it hadn't sat all day, as because I still only have my provisional my mother had driven it to my work and when I went out to start it it had only sat for 10-15 minutes.

Hmm, you could be right there but could also be lack of power.  As it'd been driven just before though it's likely it was a starter issue in your case, I agree.

Still, wouldn't get into the habit of lights before engine if you help it.  On a cold wintery morning that sort of thing could be the final straw for a dying battery.

The cheeky F...s

They've even nabbed my headlight one!!

Guides are meant to be passed on and useful to others but common courtesy dictates that they at least quote their sources.

I think I'll have to go through and edit my guides with some watermarks added.

I joined the forum and messaged the only admin listed.

Also did a quick WHOIS lookup - registered by a Brett Pittaway.  That's as much as I've been able to ascertain.

Anyone know how to do DOS attacks? 😎

The thought did cross my mind...

But no, no I don't lol

Anyone know a member of Anonymous? (Yes, I know...defeats the purpose anonymous if people know who they are lol)
