Things I Don't Like

Apparently according to the modern youth it means tunes lol.

Ah, I see...  Not sure why the word "songs" went out of fashion though.  Young people seem to have to make a new word for everything these days!

That's why I hate them & refuse to be associated with any of them despite being 24.  What on earth does BAE mean

Wanted to take the kids to Woolacombe beach this weekend and stop over but the weather looks naff.  This is my don't like lol

Absolutely no idea!  Hence why I lock myself away in my own little world with my record player and copious amounts of alcohol!

I still don't get that, did wonder why so many people were commenting on British Aerospace on facebook a while back...

I don't like today...honestly it's just been rubbish.  Had an awful night and woke up with gutsache which triggered backache all day which wasn't a good start, not even fixed after a few loo visits.  Then failed at dealing calmly with traffic, failed at coping with town crowds, failed at using a bank machine that was apparently cordoned off (yet the cordon was so low I hadn't seen it and so close to the machine it didn't hamper me using it at all!  And the machine still actually seemed to be working, and it was still before 5 (just)...but why the hell do banks close at 5pm!?) then parked next to a closed diesel pump and got out before realising that wasn't working so had to move to another.  Can only hope tomorrow goes better I guess lol!

i read that as gutstache, you know like mustache with a G lol not gut ache.  It's Thursday & tomorrow is F.O.F so you can be forgiven lol.  Although I know how irritating it is with the petrol/diesel pump one.  Had the mother in law ring me today, there's no diesel only V Power can I put that in.  This is a massive dilike from me, my right shift key has stopped working, you only realise how much you use something when it's gone or broken.

I don't like the quantity of broken glass that someone thought they'd leave scattered about on the footpath behind the sports centre:sad: It's not just a small pile either. a trail of it, for about 100 metres.  It looked more like smashed light bulbs than broken bottles.

I had to carry Brandy until we got to the wood at the end of the footpath. Brandy doesn't like being carried at the best of times: she squirms and wriggles:mellow:

I would have thought, as others have, British Aerospace.

The dictionary says its Danish for poo,

In English, originally (up until the 16th century) it was the phonetic word for the sound a sheep makes until the baa took over.

Whereas the urban dictionary, says it's a being used as term of endearment and has been further extended to mean anything good or cool.

BAE...certainly seems appropriate for BAE Systems...

I don't like the fact my driving test is on Monday for my C+E. 4 days of training has gone so quickly lol

I am easily capable of passing as my instructor told me from day 1. He said if I took a test there and then I should easily be able to pass it.

I just worry about my nerves on the day and doing something daft and !Removed! it up. Lol

I don't like making a twit of myself tonight trying to pull away in 3rd gear!!  It wasn't outwardly noticeable as I lifted the clutch slowly enough to prevent the "kangaroo effect", but irritated me as I haven't done that once in the 3,000+ miles I've driven in that car.  At least once I realised my mistake I recovered from it quickly - clutch down, restart, 1st gear and go (done in less than 3 seconds from stalling to moving off again).  I'd never stall deliberately, but now it has happened at least I know I can cope with it.  I imagine the process would be much slower in a "push button" car, where you'd probably have to reapply the handbrake before the engine would restart...  Hence why I prefer my old fashioned car with no "safety features".

That pretty much sums up my car test!!

Lol, at least you can get away with it being a learner...  I managed to only half get reverse trying to leave a space in Sainburys earlier when I panicked as someone flashed me out...then rammed it in before the revs had dropped causing a horrific graunch with an audience.  Then realised the guy hadn't left me enough room to get out so took a bit of shunting to get round as well.  Bet he wished he hadn't let me out in the end...

I don't like that the AC gave up on the ST today. It lasted 3 weeks after refilling but has obviously got a leak somewhere that I can't find.  Guess I'll have to use the window more...which I also don't like...one touch down but not up!?  Why!?  Urgh...

Ah yes, good old Ford gearboxes and their dodgy reverse gears...  I've never known a car to have so much trouble getting into reverse as our Fords have.

Windows don't have one-touch up because all it would take is one idiot to trap their finger or hair in the window whilst closing and then Ford would be getting sued, like those idiots who sued McDonald's for not putting warnings on their coffee cups that the contents may be hot!!  Because of course, you would expect a cold cup of coffee...

Tbh I haven't had any car that likes reverse from cold, I try to reverse park and pull out cold but it's not always possible.

Also...the Focus has one touch up as well as down, as did the Vectra, and the Golf, in fact my 306s used to have one touch up and down made back in 1999!!   I didn't even know you could get cars that only have one touch one way until I got the Fiesta.   As for idiots, electric windows have a safety mechanism built in, they stop if they feel resistance...

I'm the opposite as we've had a few cars with auto-down but never up.  As for resistance, I'm sure a few strands of hair wouldn't provide enough resistace to stop the window, but it would be enough for some idiot to hire a lawyer and get a few pounds in compensation for "pain and suffering"!

I don't really care for automatic windows though - lets face it, how hard is it to hold down a button for a few seconds?  I have to manually wind the windows in my 405!!

No you're right, hair wouldn't give enough resiatnce...but I dunno what your hair is made of, most peoples would just break/fall out without even noticing lol.

Seriosly though, I actually find holding the window button or manually winding them (I have owned a few pov spec cars lol) takes hands off the wheel for longer than I'd like, I much prefer a quick flick of the button when I get the chance to give it a boot but don't want the wind buffeting around my head.  While we're on the subject...I don't like the variable intermittent wipers in the Fiesta either...seem to spend the entire rainy drive trying to find the most appropriate setting!  Gimme auto wipers any day!

Oh it definitely does, and manually winding also causes you to bend over which makes it even more dangerous.  That said, I rarely drive with both hands on the wheel, however I like to have the other hand free should I need to grab it suddenly etc...

The youth of today use it to describe their friend or other half.  I've always known it as British Aerospace as well but hey ho

My windows are all 1 touch up & combined with wind deflectors is a good combination when the other half as her hand out the window.  MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (evil laugh)

I don't like waking up on Saturday morning to glorious sunshine and the prospect of spending 5.5 hours in a stuffy, poorly air conditioned building.  Roll on 15:30.

Fiesta definitely have one touch both ways you just need to reset them

See my parts for sale on thread "philf1s Spirit Blue Fiesta ST180 parts for sale"

It's a mk6.5, guess they've spent the extra 5p on a switch for both ways in the mk7 then.

I don't like rabbits with camouflaged holes.

During Brandy's extended morning stroll, my left foot slipped into one whilst the rest of me continued onwards, and then I took an unexpected tumble, still with my foot in the hole:ohmy::sad:

This resulted in a sprained ankle/torn ligament and my ability to walk back was somewhat impeded, taking us three times as long to get back as we got there:mellow:  Whilst i can sort of walk on it with a grimace:mellow:, rotating the foot is somewhere between  and , as is rocking the foot and squeezing around the ankle area.

Frozen peas were applied as soon as I got back to keep the swelling at bay, the bag fastened to my ankle with a couple of bungee straps, until the peas thawed.  I shall be having 1kg of peas for tea tonight, at the very least.

I don't like getting caught in torrential rain whilst driving the 405 with it's crap Roadstone tyres down country roads with hardly any drainage.  I think a boat would have suited the water levels better.

Thank goodness I fitted Bosch Super Plus wipers so I could at least see where I was floating
