Things I Don't Like

By making the process of appeal less desirable, it's probably going to put people off doing so. For the cost of a stamp, and a hour of your time wording what you want to say, it's worth doing so. I wouldn't argue against paying it now, but if you can get £65 back on appeal, I would put in the time.

Thanks Zico, actually did feel like doing an appeal but it kind of looks like I'm clearly in the wrong. There was 2 things which made me go through the no entry: the truck parked on the road which made it hard for me to squeeze through the gap when I went into that road and the guy in the silver car which made it a little hard for me to make my mind up on which way I should of went as he just stayed there for a good 5 - 10 seconds then just reversed back and parked. I did go through the no entry but made a U turn which you can't see on camera. Was thinking of looking back at my dash cam footage but was wondering how I'd show that if I'm having to send a letter 😂

Tbh I'm surprised they could read the reg, thier camera could do with a clean!!

In fairness, I think you were in the wrong as soon as you passed the no entry signs regardless of obstructions or turning around after.  Don't think you'd win an appeal there.  Just chalk it up to experience.

I'm currently awaiting a parking fine...was invited to a social event last weekend.  Parked in the car park but pussied out of actually going inside so just sat in the car for a while before leaving...  Signs all round the car park saying visitors must put thier reg in at reception or be fined...  Hopefully there's some amount of 'waiting' time, will be annoyed if I get fined for having anxiety.

Yeah you live in learn lol. My grandad told me my aunt, got into a few problems when she started driving. Twice the police had to take her car. Already paid the charge so all good. Can this affect insurance as I was just looking at insurance for my fiesta and its gone up by about £70 and that's for a black box. The insurance company I'm using now ain't popping up on the results section.

Lol what made not go into the event? Normally if you go in a car park and go straight out it's fine but like you said you stayed there for a bit.

Hmm, not sure if it affects insurance, does it have to be declared as there are no licence points for it?  So far I haven't had any points or fines at all so can't say from experience, I'm sure others on here will have been caught though.

I just can't really cope with real people, especially in an enclosed space.  I'm not so bad at outdoor events like car shows but can't really do indoor ones.  I haven't been invited to anything like that for at least 8 years lol.  Plus I never know what to do, I can't eat or drink with my OCD (though I don't drink alcohol anyway and don't want to be the only sober one), I don't like a lot of noise or heat, and am a very boring person so can't really make conversations either.  I just sat in the car wondering why I even drove there lol.

Getting to the car park, is further than I'd have got. 😛

But then I am a loner, so don't get invited out to stuff anyway. Only the occasional family thing, which I avoid going to if I can.

It's only been in the last year or so, I've really been able to appreciate I'm not the only one like this. Can take some comfort in that at least.

@TomsFocus @alexp999 same here. I'm not the type to go out with friends. I don't have any close friends who'd think on inviting me out. As I've grown up over the years going to school I feel more comfortable just staying home than having to go out with friends. At the moment in uni no one has invited me to go out however I have a feeling my friends in uni are like me.

Back in secondary school and college I used to like someone and she had a close friend which I think were related or just meet each others family. I'd just get insecure whenever I hear them talk about people I don't know about as I knew them since we were 4. What I'm trying to say is a loner who hears people / friends talk about what they did just will make them insecure. Since I started going uni I don't see her anymore. I'd probably got depressed from that but I also felt a lot more happier with my life as I don't have a thought about how I look etc as she's not there. I would also like to state girls are more social than us guys so never compare yourself to girls. 😂

Social media ain't as good also. On the news there was an article about young girls causing self harm due to social media like Facebook. They said people would look at what their friends do on these sites and won't like seeing their friends doing or showing off things better than them. From my own view I hardly use social media as I don't want to see my friends going out with each other or others.

Sorry for the lengthy post, do feel happy I can talk about this topic including my love life🤣. I do feel happy the way I am but I have noticed with myself I am a bit judgy especially in uni. I'd of thought you'd get a lot of kind, clever, decent people but I've also found people to somehow be clever and dumb.

Family are closer than friends

I deleted my facebook account a few years ago, quite liberating. I had no "real" friends, FB friends, are not real friends 99% of the time.

I play a lot of video games, but almost exclusively solo games. Then along game destiny, I didn't get in to the clan thing, for the first game, but I did for the second, wanting to get a bit more out of the game, as there are certain things you can only do with a team. It was one of the best things I could have done, literally changed my life. If either of you @TomsFocus or @zain611 or anyone else who's shy/anxious like us and are in to Destiny and need a clan hit me up, I found one for people like us, they're a great bunch. I've made some good friends on there, one in particular I've really become close friends with, only problem is they aren't in the UK. haha.

I'm going to visit them in about a months time, "free" holiday (accommodation anyway). Am I nervous, hell yes. But I'm sick of anxiety ruling what I do, so throwing myself in the deep end and will just have to deal with it. I want to meet them enough to push myself through it.

All through destiny..... The video game 😁

I'm surprised what similarities we have. I'm hooked at the moment on COD black ops 1 zombies. I'm off till October so just wake up late and sit down or do other stuff until around 6pm where I play zombies. After dinner I play dishonored 2 on my Ps4. Surprisingly haven't started playing the sequal yet and it's still sitting in my room wrapped up. I've finished the game so many times now but trying to get the platinum trophy before I play the sequal.

I've moved away from player vs player multiplayer. Games like GTA and COD just doesn't feel fun all the time when your playing against people. I've noticed myself I'd sometimes get angry or sometimes upset on how some people play. You get people teaming up with friends or random people so they can get an easy win. This was something which really bothered me when I played black ops 3. These game developers also put mechanics in the game so players can taunt others. This just causes hostility towards players as COD and GTA do this and you get some people who like to boast or show off. I like to do the good game gesture.

Tbf, I only got invited to this as I fixed the guys car after an accident lol, I'll happily fix any local cars...as long as the owners aren't expecting me to chat at the same time.

I don't really have any friends either, rarely see anyone my age, and my facebook feed is just depressing watching people progress through life as it's now been 10 years since I left high school.  I do go to quite a few local car shows/meets though, so sometimes see people there I've known there for years from school, college and previous car forums...but even then it's just a nod or 'alright'...and then having to avoid the awkwardness of bumping into them again for the rest of the event!  I wish I was more sociable though, just never have been.

I do keep facebook btw, not really for the feed but for the pages, I'd miss out on a lot of events without it tbh, and the Marketplace is great for buying and selling.

I also play a lot of Xbox, I like the Assassins Creed games but they only last a few weeks on single player so mostly play Call of Duty online through the rest of the year...but the headset has never been out of the box in the 4 years I owned it...  What surprises me is the lengths people will go to to tell me how poor I am at the game, actually stopping play to type out a message in the middle of a multiplayer session!  It doesn't bother me at all though, I'm not a competitive gamer, I'm really just passing time, not bothered if I win or lose, more interested in completing challenges!

Not sure destiny would be my type of game but will look into it...do you play it on Xbox One or PS3?

Well done for pushing yourself to go and meet them.  I've been pushing myself into a lot of things over the last couple of years since moving out, mostly car related but not all.  Even went to a free music festival this year which turned out to be great tbh.  And an archaeological dig last year.  Plus I was at the filming of the Antiques Roadshow and was on TV a few times in two of the programmes that aired earlier this year lol.  I just wish I had someone to go to these events with though... 😞  Have got quite a few car shows coming up next month (really hoping the heat drops a bit by then!!) and have asked an old forum mate that I used to do shows and meets with if he wants to come to some with me so will see how that goes.

@TomsFocus I play Destiny on PS4 there are people in the clan who do PvP, but I and the people I'm most friendly with only do PvE. I hate the competitive PvP stuff.

I play most other things on PC now, I do have an Xbox, but it's sat collecting dust. My gamertags are in my sig if you want to add me to your friends list on any of the platforms.

I also like car shows, but have no-one to go with. Are you going to Ford Fair? I'm going this year.

@TomsFocus

I keep myself busy with the PS4 and sometimes going down to slim's detailing but not all the time as it might look odd 😂. At the moment I'm clearing my room out as cabinets will be coming soon to put in. Got a skip which just arrived in the morning to make it easier throwing rubbish in

@alexp999 I've started to move away from PvP multiplayer games. The amount of frustration I've been in playing competitively against players has made me think if this is a health risk.

In COD for example I'm playing zombies which is coop. Yeah there are times I get angry at some players especially those who leave just a second before the match begins or are no help. GTA I like to find a public lobby but with no players in it so I can do my business without worrying about a kid coming in with a jet and griefing me. GTA has just become a hostile game and I don't want to be involved in that. Once I had a group of kids gang up on me so just message other players in the lobby to kick the main guy out. One of them found out and just was sending rude messages to me. At the end I blew him up and left. One of the reasons why I've moved away from PvP

Me and my PSN friends always go hunting for solo public lobbies. We are actually quite good at getting them and often retain them for many hours so that no one but us are in the lobby. We all go about our business in peace and help each other out when needed.
Tbh I'm never off my PS4, whether that's playing GTA now that the after hours dlc has dropped or on other games like The Crew 2, Need For Speed etc.

Ah, I only have Xbox One, don't think any games can be played across platform unfortunately.

I'm not going to Ford Fair or any of the large shows sadly.  I can't travel far for various reasons* so can only do shows within about half an hours drive.  Though since moving here there is a lot more in a half hour radius, German shows, modified shows, American shows, retro/classic shows, steam shows (steam engines, not the gaming thing lol) even a Swedish show last year!  No Ford shows at all though, in the 4 years I was driving Focus's & Fiesta's I only ever found one local Ford meet!  Interestingly, the guy that invited me to the party last weekend lives 5 mins from me and runs a Ford group on FB...yet even his meets are over 90 mins away so I can't go lol.

*Of course, those reasons are mostly anxiety related, but cause physical effects (IBS episodes/dizziness/Nausea/fuzzy vision etc) so really not ideal for driving and it's not as simple as 'mind over matter' as I frequently get told lol.

@Nick Y it's been a while since I played GTA online. Yeah I've been looking at the latest update. My PlayStation membership is expired and have to pay for another one to play online. On the PS3 it's free to play online so just play some zombies. On the PS4 I'm playing dishonored 2 to get the platinum trophy and will play the sequel to that

I feel you on that one sir. I have severe anxiety myself. I'm not anxious much when I drive but it's when I'm out and about and I see something that triggers it.
My anxiety is related to contamination from things or people (illnesses etc) so I limit contact with people as much as possible. Driving is the only thing that actually helps me (unless I see someone being ill).
It definitely isn't mind over matter and we can't just simply snap out of an anxiety or panic attack. A lot of people think we actually chose to have anxiety, but that couldn't be further from the truth (usually it's related to some form of trauma experienced by a person).

Yes, PS3 is free to play games on but unfortunately it's mostly a mod fest these days on the older platforms. I always look for good offers when it comes to PS Plus. I actually got a great deal last year and ended up extending my membership by 22 months for only £50 (expires end of October 2019).
I mainly play racing games (but not GT Sport) but have dabbled in a few other genres such as action/puzzle (Uncharted series) and episodic games such as Life is Strange (both games) and Tales from the Borderlands.
I'm currently waiting for Forza Horizon 4 to be released for my XBox One so I can play that alongside the other Forza games.

It's really not good is it!  Have you had any treatment or found anything to help out of interest?  I also have severe contamination OCD and a major phobia around illness/injury/anything medical.  So just having to own a body with the constant potential for illnesses/leakages/breakages causes anxiety which then triggers IBS & nausea, which causes more anxiety, and it's just a constant cycle before I've even left the flat...  I've been told to just reduce stress...right...

This is a big thing these days and yes you get tired of people saying ''just do this'' etc.

My elderly dad suffers very bad with Anxiety/panic attacks/depression in a very big way,had it for a good 9 years when we lost my mom and just went down hill.

He has other problems which we have nurses come in the week but as im a 24/7 living carer and i done this for the last 15+years now it does make me very down with the stuff

you have to deal with on a day and night basis,i do know 100% where people are coming from as you got this or these problems you have every illness going (you think) you have.

Lol I do voluntry in my local hospital in a ward where people stay after coming to A&E. There are some rooms which you'd sometimes have to wear a mask as the patient may have a disease which can spread airborne. I'm sure they say a metre radius is where the germs stay around someone. The main thing id like to say is I've been going there for over 2 years and I can't say I've picked up an illness. God forbid. I think best thing to do is keep yourself active. I've noticed with myself when I'm just sitting at home I start to think about things and probably over think which I think can cause anxiety. If you keep yourself busy you won't get the opportunity to overthink things.

Something which I'm starting to not like is the skip. Today morning saw a guy in a van stop outside the house and took a peek in the skip. By the looks of it he was looking for metal which no luck here and I did see him carry a bike in his van. Just now at midnight a car was in front of the house. Probably an opportunist to dump their rubbish in it. Is it okay do dump rubbish in someone's skip. I just find it rude but I also worry about the car as its next to it and I don't want to see a mark caused by a clumsy person tipping rubbish. My dad saw the car outside but didn't look bothered. Wish I just don't care about anything.

Until the skip is collected all the contents are still owned by whoever deposited them.
If someone removes items from your skip without permission then it is theft.
A third party placing items in the skip could be classed as carrying out fly-tipping but unlikely to elicit a Police response.
However if you remove the items and place them next to the skip then you are fly-tipping yourself.

Thanks @Stoney871 just found out by my dad the car we saw last night was just someone who came to see my neighbour so all good. The metal people we aren't really bothered about as if they take anything out that leaves space for more rubbish.

Rooms been emptied and don't ask about the pink carpet 😂. That was there ever since I moved into this house over 10 years ago. Moved the fishtank downstairs along with my mattress so have to sleep in the living room till my room is done.

We have a problem where dumping rubbish but i will just ask a few things as its a long story and other stuff that goes with it,terrible family and filthy.

we live in a row of 12 houses (town houses) and 5 blocks with back gates backing onto each other with room for 2 cars up and down by the gates.

If a person dumps rubbish against there own gate and don't block the road just harder to get in and out from a gate is this fine (council house).

Still technically fly-tipping and a health / fire risk.
Complain to your local council and add that you have seen rats.
They will clean it up pretty quickly if rats are reported.
If that doesn't work then report it via Fixmystreet, they know exactly who to chase to get things done-
