Lenny, did you get it delivered? How do you know it wasn't already smashed inside the box? I would be making a phone call to Ikea before shelling out another €80.

Thanks Wes we collected it all ourselves mate

Ah I got a bit disappointed afterwards and brought the damaged part outside and stacked it at the rear of the garden shed for the rain to soften it up for disposal along with the old wardrobe.

I'm going back up to IKEA thismorning to pick up another one and hopefully build it today before going to sleep in the evening for working tonight.

The IKEA family card; covers mild damage but one of the panels was split in half.

I got a bit brave and asked the wife if perhaps we should take the entire pallet of them and surly get one up safe 🤭

But the response was "😐🖕" picture with no sound, she did buy me breakfast in IKEA though

LOL 😃

I don't like the use of plastic headlamp lenses!!  Just spent an hour this afternoon trying to restore the ones on the Passat with some wet sandpaper, polishing compound and then clear coat which has worked but for how long who knows and it isn't perfect.

In comparison my 405 which is 10 years older has glass headlamps so unless they get broken they will look just as nice in 50 years as they do today.

Why is it the best laid plans never work. Trying to pick my new (to me ) car up today. My partner happened to be working about 45 mins from my destination , I thought great , get a lift with her to Peterborough ( 2 hrs max from home ) then train to biggleswade.  So started out and within 15 mins got stuck in traffic. Lots of traffic due to accident on motorway some 15 miles away, tried different routes still the same. Ended up stopping for Costa, and wait 30 mins. Still no better. So come home, 2 hours and 20 miles later.

I specialy groveled at work yesterday to have today off.

Now going to try the train , to find I need to use the London underground to change train stations and that underground line has got signaling problems . Why me?? Lol

I will get there somehow today.

Other people.  It doesn't matter how well you plan something, someone else will always ruin it, usually multiple people...  Those that can't drive in the rain without crashing should really just stay at home.

This meme feels appropriate for me today, and it's got a Ford in it...

I've had quite a few days recently where I might as well of stayed in bed .

Well, I got the first  train in the right direction . So far so good.

UK Postal service. Bring back the days when we used to get our mail first thing in the morning. I've been waiting for my mail before i go to work for the past 2 days (expecting stuff), and both days left for work at lunch time and still not seen my Postie.

I no what you mean🙁

I don't like having to wash several of our dogs after they decided to role in fox (pretty sure) turds in our field yesterday afternoon.

I don't like that for most of today it's been absolutely chucking it down and now I can't let our dogs out without them getting drenched and making just as much mess when they come back in.

I don't like that if I had known it was going to be this wet today, I could have combined the weather with some shower gel and scrubbed said fox poo dogs in one go .

My dogs aim for deer ***** when they find it and try to eat it.
A rigorous worming regimen is always followed.

Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)

So pleased mine has stopped trying to eat poo.

She does, however need a good grooming.  Does she let me do her really fluffy bits? Noo...of course she doesn't...

Thankfully almost all of our dogs don't eat any poo (the exception being the Doberman where she tends to get caught now and again eating one of the other dog's doings).

The worst thing of all is that I'm pretty sure all of our dogs (13) rolled in the same area and most of them also peed in the same spot to mark their territory 🤮🤢.

Still got to try and get round the other dogs and shower them down but it's a bit difficult to do it by myself while my father's back in Cyprus until the 16th May.

Our oldest Cocker Spaniel is ~9 years now and she's a right pain to get any knots snipped out. She shrieks and makes a cross between a Wookie and gargle sound while thrashing herself around causing you to almost stab yourself or her. Most of the others are pretty much fine with being groomed/trimmed (some even actively get jealous and push themselves in front of others when getting groomed).

Well, I don't like that it's almost insurance renewal time, meaning that I have owned the car for nearly a year now.
I also don't like that the renewal price quoted by my current insurer is only £32 (yes £32) cheaper than I paid last year with the same add-ons. How can it only be £32 cheaper with an extra years worth of NCD?

Also, it seems like I can't get it much cheaper than that at all once the extras have been added on (key cover, breakdown, legal, hire car etc). I've been on all the comparison websites and even the insurers sites and each one is coming out at £500 and up for the same coverage.
The only one which seems to make any difference is Aviva with their Aviva Plus insurance. Yes, it works out more (less than £100 more) but it means that everything is included (breakdown etc) and also, as a bonus, if you take the advanced level cover you are allowed to drive other vehicles fully comp and no extra cost for upto 5 days at a time (as long as the other vehicle has insurance cover and you have the owner/policyholder permission and you contact them with the vehicle registration).
The down side to this Aviva Plus policy is that you can't pay outright and have to pay monthly (no added interest though).

Mines been going up despite extra NCB each year so £32 cheaper sounds like a good start lol...  You might be able to haggle your own insurer down a bit more though.

It might also be cheaper for you to buy breakdown separately than with the insurance.  I've gone with StartRescue this year after paying a lot to AA & RAC in previous years and still getting awful service.  After a discount code and cashback it's cost me less than £25 for the year...  I am dubious about it but it's been recommended on a few forums and car FB pages, and as said I've had bad experiences with the big companies anyway, so they can't be much worse...

Third party DOCs is fine unless you're likely to be making an at fault claim so if it's just for a day or two each year I wouldn't say the advanced Aviva is worth it.

@Nick Y I was just messing around looking at quotes a few months before my renewal. Admiral who I'm with at the moment are quoting me £1090 when I'm 21 and hopefully will have 4 years no claims. At the moment I'm paying £960 with them with legal cover. My sister's friend noticed the same thing and her insurer said its because of the increased crime in London. I use money supermarket.

Don't like getting stuck in the back of my car. Forgot child locks were on and sat in the back to see how much room there is for adults . Oh!!!! Neither back doors would open. At the age of 55 I'm not the contortionist I used to be. Ended up imbetween the front seats head first on my back trying to wiggle my way though the manouvere my legs though. Lol 😂

Yeah , I'm waiting for the laughter to flow in. My Mrs said she saw me in the back of the car and wondered what I was doing. I had to read the manual to find out the child locks are electric and operated by a button near the window switches

@iantt how much would you say service parts are for a audi RS6?

That's a random one. Lol probably the same as any other Audi I guess, OEM or motor factors?

Just trying to work out how much it would be to maintain that sort of car excluding petrol 😂. I'd say when servicing comes I'd probably won't get OEM but something with similar quality like MANN etc.

If I'm fortunate to afford one in several years I'd say I'm already going to spend around £2100 for just insurance and road tax alone.

Normal service items won't be expensive, it's the other items like tyres, brakes, calipers, clutch etc that will be the money pit.
