Things I Don't Like

Featured Replies

Don't think any one knows how car insurance premiums are worked out. Had mazda3 MPs, focus 1.0 and now Mondeo 2.0 . They all have been around the £230 area . Going from 320hp to 100hp and no change in premium shocked me.

Aren't you a professional aeroplane builder?  No need to tell them the scale...

I've been with both Hastings & Admiral group and it hasn't been an issue though, don't really understand why yours should be so much more than mine.

I wouldn't say professional Tom, lol. I do build a lot of 1/72 and 1/144 scale aircraft though. I've got my own museum in here.

So, I spoke to my insurance provider today and found out the reason for the increase in prices (you folks might want to brace yourselves for this one, especially if yours is due for renewal).
Since the UK lockdown began, there has been a significant increase in vehicle thefts, hence the rather steep increase in insurance premiums.

so your a museum curator for insurance purposes?

Your modelling looks very professional to me Nick!

On the insurance, well, they always manage to find a reason, but I guess there could be some logic to that one if vehicles that are normally out and about are stuck in parking places that may not be so secure.

I think they pull the excuses out of a hat.

It wasn't long ago that Admiral were saying they had a surplus of funds and would refund everyone £25 as fewer cars on the roads meant fewer claims!

Surely not being able to leave the house should reduce thefts!

I can't say I've seen many thefts on forums and FB groups recently though, far less than usual tbh, does seem a bit suspicious.

A mate of mine was the Risk and Insurance manager of a sizeable plc for years and even he never managed to work out any logic behind insurance premiums, vehicle or otherwise!😀

Friends.  The TV series.  I don't get it.  30 seconds in and I want them all to die.

I don't like not finding any hair clippers on the shelf in Sainsburys, after not being able to order any for C&C at Argos either...

I did wonder if they were usually assembled in Chinese factories which had been shut for a while?  :g:

i ordered mine direct from wahl. and were cheaper than  ebay/amazon

Ah, they're only offering 10% instead of £10 discount now, just signed up myself!

That particular one is out of stock now though.

I totally agree; I've never liked it,

And I see now Tesco have a selection of friends branded clothing for teenagers, of which I have one and another not far behind that age too.

I cant see that generation being attracted to the show though; its quite outdated now for the instant generation; I'd much prefer 30 minutes on YouTube rather than a re-run on channel 4

We watched it when it was first on, yes I am that old! 🙄 Quite liked it then but not so fussed now but our 24 year old daughter watches it the whole time.

It's certainly of it's time.

I don't like looking out the window across the road and seeing my car's running lights on 😲
dark interior so I can't see inside, so I'm starting to panic that someone's inside it,
was just about to get a shower so I ran to get some clothes on and bolted outside....
Looked the car over and seems ok, got in and turned engine on and the left indicator starts blinking,
the Steering Lock had touched the indicator!!, I've had this happen a few times before but I'd noticed it,
Either the Steering Lock slipped or I couldn't see the lights because of the sun.

Is this a feature?, where you can keep the front & rear running lights on while having the car fully locked?
Suppose that might be useful if the car breaks down and you have to leave it at the side of the road.

The running lights come on if you pull the indicator arm towards you like you would to flash your high beams whilst driving also either sidelight if you flick to either side as if indicating.

No you'd be amazed, my 14 year old daughter and all her friends love it.

Do you like any US sitcoms?  The Channel 4 channels are full of them atm!  Melissa & Joey, Man With a Plan, etc...

I don't mind them, but only as a last resort when there's nothing else on!  I tend to watch Salvage Hunters or Combat Dealers in the afternoons at the moment.  Never watched afternoon TV before lockdown!

I did used to like Big Bang Theory for the first few series...got fed up of being told how similar I am to Sheldon though!

They're parking lights...meant to be used if you park facing traffic on an unlit road above with limit above 30mph.  I don't think anyone uses them but they're still in the highway code and a UK requirement lol.
