Things I Don't Like

Thanks Tom, didn't get to try that as I've just been out to the car and the hazards have stopped. I'm guessing the PATS/BCM system must have a timer.

Maybe...

Worth checking it again later though.  On the Mk2, I found the hazards would restart after 'an amount' of time.  (Didn't seem to be any particular length of time!)  Only way I knew is because I could see it flashing through the frosted glass of the bathroom before going to bed.  No idea how long it'd been going on through the evening before then.

From memory, legally I don't think car alarms can sound for longer than 30 minutes...

Fortunately the alarm wasn't a problem as it went off as soon I I re-locked the car with the key blade - it was the hazards that didn't seem as though they would stop.

Will re-check the hazards are still off later.

Back to searching for the fob now 😕

Why couldn't you have lost the key last week. Only last week I threw maybe 15 or more known good fobs away . No use to me now I not got a ford. All variants from the rare keyless entry on MK2 to latest focus, Mondeo, mach-e  transit.

Usually have a tidy of the bits I seem to accumulate at work  around Xmas week.

No sign of the key. Checking each place I've been.

Phoned Ford; nobody available until Tuesday to sort out a key and even then I have to get the car to the dealer. An official Ford website I looked at suggested a key could be made available just from the VIN but I was assured that was not possible.

If 'Ford' can't do it, take it to a trusted independent locksmith. Once they plug into the OBD socket, they should be able to program a new fob for remote opening/closing, along with immobliser to enable starting of car...

No personal experience, but this outfit (presumably a franchise type operation) claim a rapid replacement key service:

Have instructed a local company 'thecarzkeys'.

Coming tomorrow morning £199 😢

Hopefully the alarm won't wake up too many neighbours 🙏

That's pricey, but it is a Sunday, and New Years Eve, so I suppose I'd excuse it LOL

can you not recode a fob Via FORscan ??????. or raid the scrappers for a set of keys and recode all to your car. As far as i'm aware you just need to have the right chip

In this episode of Things I don't like ....
I ended up with 3 points on my license as I drove through an amber and half my car had crossed when the lights turned red. It had just finished raining and the sun came through and was shining brightly and it was difficult to see what was in front of me.

Anyway, I went to insure my 2l Focus and everyone wants £850! Before it was £400. On my brother's 1.6l Focus, it's £300 for me. So, I am going to have to sell my car and drive his car instead. I have to change vehicle ownership with DVLA too.

Don't like finding a puddle on the bathroom floor 3 days in a row.    Odd thing is I can't see any drips on pipes or wall...but it must have come from somewhere.

Is there any type of sealant I could smear around the outside of the pipe joiner in case it is coming from there?  Just want something small though, not a huge tube of mastick that would get wasted.

Also wondered if it's worth trying to raise the far end in case water is sitting on the joint...but am I likely to cause more damage by doing that?

Tom, I have used this before to good effect, I even supplied you an 'Amazon' link LOL

yes Gorilla or try Aquarium sealant

Just received an email from the C of E updating me on their progress towards "addressing historical links with African chattel enslavement" and thanking me for my interest.

Thought it was a wind up/scam until I remembered I'd emailed them after my aunt's funeral last year at her local church, for which she'd done an enormous amount of voluntary work over her lifetime.

I took great exception to the fact that the church (which has been supported by my family for several generations) was in a state of near collapse while the C of E had decided to pledge £100 million or so to the above issue.

Anyway, I replied to advise them that they were labouring under a misapprehension!

I can't even publish a response to this, as I'd be permanently banned from this forum!!! 😠

It takes about 350ml to full a mug of coffee/tea. So, I don't like her boiling 1 liter+ in the kettle. However, I dislike an argument even less, so I suffer in silence 🤣

Think the majority can relate to that and other similar actions.

Don't like that happening when I'm flying on a similar aircraft tommorow. And to top it off I'm sat right where that door fell off

I'd ignore the, "you may now remove your seat belt..." sign  😁

Yeah, and keeping my coat on incase it gets a little windy. Might swap seats with my partner, not telling  her about the story or we won't be going anywhere tommorow.

Are we the only one's brave enough to fly??
