Charger no good. The battery was dropping voltage after a short while. I had to leave work and go rescue with jump pack. Then I couldn't be bothered to go back to work. Couldnt get replacement battery until late afternoon. So took jump pack with us and carried on up north. Nightmare getting her mum home as motorway was grid locked. My partner said to take detour avoiding motorway. Yeah, right, narrow back lanes partially flooded . Got to one where a van tried getting through and conked out . Nearly 2 foot deep. Got no air intake so got through that ok. ( Didn't get electrocuted either!!) 90 miles took 4 hrs. Coming back wasn't much better. Got back just in time to pick battery up before motor factor shut.

Tested old battery today and defo knackered.

I don't like driving my truck in those awful winds

My mech a wagon driver was blown over earlier in the year, escaped with cuts and bruises. Wagon was written off.

A b*gger, indeed. So that's after less than 4 years, similar to what people are finding on here with ICE cars now.

I keep a eye on various makes EV, FHEV, PHEV forums and 12v battery issues are not uncommon it seems, particularly if, just as with ICE, usage is low/irregular.

I understand the 12v battery is topped up from the main traction battery by an inverter controlled by software. It's looking as if, where the pattern of use doesn't fit in with the software parameters, problems may arise just as with ICE.

Yep. Nice new one on at £80 now. The evening/night got worse. Had pains in chest/back/stomach from 10.30pm onwards.was awake and even went for a walk in the wind and rain at 1.30am to see if pain would go.  Told partner this morning after I got to work. She flapping it could be something serious🤣🤣🤣. I think too much food consumed in a short period. 🤣🤣

Let's hope so! There does seem to be a lot of it going around at this time of year - more turkey, anyone?😀

Get yourself checked out properly, symptoms can feel like serious indigestion, don't chance it. As my local A+E tell me better safe than sorry or dead. I usually drop in at least once a year with chest pains.

Turkey and stuffing butties. on brown bread now I'm back on another health kick, even cut out potatoes {chips} blood sugars thru the roof again.

Yep, have to get in trim before next review with diabetes nurse or more finger wagging! I put her on the spot last time and asked what her mmol/mol figure was. Turned out to be nearly as bad as mine (or to put it positively, mine was nearly as good as hers!😀)

I've been pre diabetic since around 2006, then normal for a few years then pre , then normal. Absolutely no change in my poor diet over the years. Even this year I was tested and was pre again. Few weeks later they checked again and normal. Same with chloresterol levels . They yo yo from "we need to think about statins " all normal .

Never understood the term 'pre diabetic'...surely everyone without diabetes is pre-diabetic!

My diabetic team keep insisting I go on to insulin, something I'm very reluctant to do for 2 x reasons.

(1) for me, it doesn't work, I was told in the past I was insulin resistant (got up to 160units/day with no effect. and most importantly,

(2) if on insulin, by law you need to tell the government for driving purposes!

This normally increases your insurance, and a reduced driving license term of 3 years.

It takes no account whatsoever that some folk are in no danger at all of having a 'hypo', (where you blood sugar goes so low you could lose consciousness)

My issue is exactly the opposite, my BS remains high no matter what (high teens compared to a hypo which is 3 or less...

Yeah, I get this all the time. First you've got something, then you haven't.  I agreed to statins some time back (because of my heart thing) but have had absolutely no side effects unlike some you hear of, so happy to carry on, particularly if it keeps them off my back otherwise!

In general terms, that's true. However when they do a test as mentioned in my earlier post "pre-diabetic"  means you're not diabetic but will be If you don't do something about it. As far as I can see, in addition to lots of exercise (which I do anyway) this generally means not eating all the stuff you enjoy!

Exactly why am taking all the meds they'll throw at me, not telling DVLA diddly. All the usual tests are rock solid just my sugars occasionally wander. You have to be good for 3 months for the HbA1c

Losing my one and only car key fob 😢

Loss location unknown 😢

Can get into the car as I took the key blade out some time ago. Never got round to buying a spare fob as I didn't know how long, or even if, I would keep the car.

Losing my one and only car key fob...

Not a great state of affairs. I have my original fob,my original blade key, PLUS an additional fully programmed fob. My OCD wouldn't allow me to have just one option.

I believe the only option open to you without one is to obtain another from Ford themselves, which won't be cheap. BUT, check your car insurance first, many policies now cover 'key' loss, even breakdown insurance (AA, RAC etc.) sometimes has a loss clause written in...

I've used the original blade key to open the car and retrieve some important things out of the boot but now have a problem with the hazard lights.

The alarm activated off as soon as I opened the drivers door and, although the alarm went off when I re-locked it, the hazard lights won't stop.

If I disconnect the battery, am I correct in saying I will still be able to open and close the drivers door with the key blade?

Yes.  But the central locking won't work so the other 3 doors will all have to be locked manually as well.  There should be a small plastic key slot on each door that looks like a child-lock for exactly this purpose.

That would be a wise assumption, the unlocking/locking would be a mechanical function, though without 'electricity' the central locking won't function.

I guess another temporary option would be to remove the indicator/hazard lights fuse.

Kicking myself now for not investing in a spare fob.

I've a feeling there is no fuse, as it will be controlled by the BCM. Yes, feel free to kick away 🤣

F59 inside is for PATS...that one might be worth a try.

Thanks Tom, didn't get to try that as I've just been out to the car and the hazards have stopped. I'm guessing the PATS/BCM system must have a timer.
