Alzy
Well here's my new pride and joy 2014 titanium 1.0 ecoboost (100ps). Car I part exed with was a 2013 1.25 zetec (82ps) and you can feel the difference. So far I've changed the footwell lights to blue LEDs. My funds are a bit low so looking for bargains atm. Any links are welcome as there's always a gem hiding somewhere. My plans for the near future are to cosmetically change the appearance inside and out. I'm unsure about the cost to my insurance if I were to do certain mods. I'm sure light bulbs, mats, stickers and some chrome trim won't effect it. But im unsure if modding the engine bay in anyway will either raise my insurance sky-high or void the warrenty I've just paid for and I'd rather be honest with them if I have too. So for summer I plan get myself some wind deflectors not sure what make yet, a set of white gel overlays with either chrome, blue or black ford writing if I can get a set. The interior lighting will all be changed to bright white in the front and blue in the back. Not sure what I need to "de-tango" in the lights and even if I can with my light clusters, seen a nice pair of rear LED ones but @ £350 a pair I didn't stick it in my basket. I want to change the front grill but don't want a honeycomb one so thinking of painting the chrome in the grill white? Ive seen a cheap set of head light lids/brows but not seen anyone with them here. Thinking of getting the wheels painted or part ex them for another set but that I think would be the start of the insurance raise as I'm changing from standard. Wold a body kit effect my insurance? Any tips and hint most appreciated Cheers all

DAN@ADRIAN FLUX
Hi. I would recommend you notify your insurance company of any changes you do to your vehicle regardless how minority seem. With regards to the body kit it depends on each individual insurer as to how they rate this. If you do find you have any issues with insurance at all for any of the planned modifications then please feel free to drop me a line. I'd be only to pleased to try and help. Regards, Dan.

E5GDM
'Silver tec' or similar bulbs are needed to de-tango. painting the chrome in the grill sounds nasty to me, especially when it starts to chip off.
Alzy
Cheers all, thought I'd not get a response. Dan if I have any issues I'll be in touch most definitely. With the expense on all this modding the insurance is a must to keep as cheap as possible. Qu section for anyone = Is it possible to have my car remapped and modded previously to my ownership and it to be unnoticed? Cookey I'll have a read of ya page thanks And E5... Cheers for the bulb type I need, will save me hours reading to find out.

Alzy
Just getting my head round how the forum works and what's acceptable as information when asking stuff. Better to be clear 1st time. the response time isnt that bad either. Lol well not if ya stuck on the HS of the M25 needing advice on a split pipe! the AA is a better call. Hehe Got loads of ideas in mind but unsure that if I do them am I putting myself at risk?
Cookey09
You wouldnt have known the previous style of the forum but people thought that was easier. Then we had this update. What your seeing now. I hated it at first. But it grows on you! Ask absolutely anything, you'll get an answer. Putting yourself at risk of what mate?
Alzy
I don't want to void either my insurance or warrenty. I want to be upfront but if they don't need to know then I won't tell them. But if it effects the car/insurance or warrenty I would be more cautious about it. Either way I think I might have a look at me T&C's on modifications and see what they class it all as.

Alzy
And I ordered my wind deflectors today. Went to Halfords and they quoted me £105 for a 5dr set. Think they were climair. Had a gander on eBay and have a set of heko ones arriving before Friday. £25.

Then £35 again for the rears..

Maxxxykins
One thing you'll learn is that Halfords is only to be used if you can't be bothered to wait or look or do something yourself. Their prices are crazy! Don't get me wrong i've been to my local Halfords a few times, just for simple parts or numberplates etc. and some of the people that work there are really passionate about cars and what they do, but the majority aren't, don't care about you or your car. I've witnessed a few incidents and been involved in one when my girlfriend went there to get a radio installed (she got a lot of Halfords vouchers so decided to use them lol) she then had to pay for everything and they couldn't find the payment on their systems as gifts cards/vouchers was used. They also couldn't confirm the fitting time because the person she booked it with didn't write it down in their book. Spoke to the manager and he was an idiot and said he couldn't do anything. Spoke to their HQ and got a full refund. I do respect the rest of the people who know what they are doing though. Enough madness, you'll enjoy doing mods and you'll be making your car your own! Have you though of adding Gel overlays to your badges? These are quite cheap as well.
ukcal
Welcome! If you want cheap, simple mods, feel free to check out my page (underneath this reply!). I think a tasteful collection of small mods can make a sufficient difference without costing the world or making your insurance go stupid! Alzy
Front grills the next job I think. Not gonna change it just wrap it. All black like the pic I've edited. Has this been already done? If so a link would be nice. Want to be able to take if off if I need to hence the wrap not change in grill. I'm thinking of doing the bottom to give it a RS look. (I do not have the skirt the front is 100% STANDARD) Opinions more than welcome thanks all
