Updated to latest firmwire and still the same.

I have my mobius connected to video in and back cam to brown like you said. My old sony headunit i could just tap rearcam icon and view th cam with music still playing. But this unit it doesnt seem to have that option? Maybe will have to use a "Y" splitter and use in video out port - can switch between front and rear that way? I also use the rear cam for parking too and to watch tailgaters lol.

Got the genuine apple hdmi to lightning adaptor which will try next week to mirror screen - allows internet browsing, location sending to friends n family etc, and more. Car play is limited but still great!

How you finding the headunit? Still learning mine haha.

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Update on the reverse camera response delay,

I had a browse through settings this morning;

Video inputs

Camera

Camera input type is set to Auto by default,

This is causing time delay because the tuner is scanning for camera signal every time car is put in reverse,

I've changed mine from Auto to NTSC

And now the delay has gone :)

Yours may be PAL or NTSC try each format to find the correct one for yours.

Think of the Mods Kieran :)

I've only 10 work days left including tonight thats 80 hours remaining for 2014 :)

Sorta feel bad about it..

80hours... Lucky you! I dread to think how many I've got left, but the mods are good motivation! :)

Realised yesterday the way to access the self calibrating audio settings is by switching off the headunit  weird as one would assume off means "off"

Anyways set the drivers position to "right"

IMG_20141205_105310_zps6fbewmdz.jpg

plugged in the calibration microphone and taped it to the drivers headrest,

IMG_20141205_105124_zpsdfszs9lq.jpg

Pressed "start"

Then much like the series "24" the headunit began a 10 Second Countdown informing me to evacuate the vehicle.

I got out and closed the door,

I felt like running while screaming "Get to the Choppa" in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice but refrained

It put three levels of white noise through each speaker, followed by a series of taps like a wood !Removed!,

Full process took around 3 minutes and to be honest it does sound better, the 6.5" are more active now along with the tweeters,

Before self calibrating it was mostly tweeter.

Really looking forward to calibrating again after the speaker installation in spring. :)

Progress update:

Night off work so was awake all day,

Had the car washed for the first time since September.

Then this evening i got bored, decided to continueoncwith progress from page: 58 of this thread and trial fit the DVR cradle inside the glovebox.

Here's a link back to page:58 where i installed the DVR Cameras:

http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/41443-taking-oval-to-blue-horizon-lennys-build-thread-2010-2015/page-58#entry433273

Turns out the stalk boom is longer than expected so I've had to mount the base further deep inside the glovebox.

IMG_20141205_162937_zps1komxqmx.jpg

In the above position its still sitting inside the glovebox housing when flipped down.

So there's no chance of it ever obstructing the glovebox door.

Next problem was the interior roof of the glovebox isn't flush smooth.

This makes things difficult when your trying to surface mount something that requires a flush suction cup base in there:

IMG]http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/ss192/lennymanwoods/discussions/IMG_20141205_163451_zpsyoqca6a_edit_1417805671847_zpsbgesisrz.jpg

So i trimmed down the suction cup base to be as small as possible:

IMG_20141205_163508_zps8m11smz_edit_1417

Quick trial fit:

IMG_20141205_163525_zpsc4s4tq8_edit_1417

IMG_20141205_163520_zpsnapgzkk_edit_1417

Still not bonding flush  i had to then cut out a section of the glovebox to allow the circular edge of the mount protrude resulting in the majority of the plate making perfect contact.

Cutting this space would also kill two birds with one cup.. Er i mean stone

As i can also fish the cables through from the cameras.

So here it is:

IMG_20141205_163811_zpsrq6urlb_edit_1417

IMG_20141205_164356_zpsiacshvgw.jpg

IMG_20141205_164424_zpsdcnrcri_edit_1417

Another trial fit:

IMG_20141205_164710_zpsagco5ml_edit_1417

IMG_20141205_164719_zpsvxngv0z6.jpg

Fitting flush like it should :)

At this point i added some UHU Super Glue to help hold in place,

Plan is to keep DVR screen folded up tight to roof of glovebox more/less hidden but mainly not obstructing the general function of the glovebox itself.

I've routed the rear camera cable feed down along the drivers side of the car however this has resulted in me being 9" inches short on length,

So tomorrow in daylight ill take the cable back to the boot compartment and route it along the passenger side instead where i will gain 20" inches of feed by not having to route it across the car to the glovebox.

I'm glad began to work at installing the bits i have to hand at present because it would take more than 7 days to install it all in May had i held off with absolutely everything.

I've not got the double USB Power supply purchased yet,

Ill get it ordered before Christmas and install to the glovebox compartment to power the DVR system aswell as an additional USB power socket to Power the Satnav on dash when required.

This is so stealth. I love it. Great idea on having it flipped up in the glovebox and retain function there. Convenient place as it from nosy parkers :P

It's a whole lot of electronics going into the car now Lenny. It's going to be one high tech Focus once it's all done. Good idea on starting early on parts of the process. Reckon it would have taken you longer in the summer to get it all done.

You still considering the Silent Coat or you thinking of something else for sound deadening?

thanks mate,

I'm delighted its worked out the way i had planned in my head,

Didn't look like it was going to at first but just needed some coaxing to get it rite.

It's a nice DVR system for the low price, has built in battery and motion sensors on cams, so if it sences movement outside when car is parked, it wakes up the DVR to record for 5 minutes per movement senced.

Maaaaaaaad

Thanks mate, crammed in every remaining interior mod possible as i was told the condition of my back wouldn't be improving so i was under pressure to get everything in and fit it all on one last installment.

I hope the battery holds up  may install a little 2 stroke Honda Generator in the tyre well

The installation of the existing parts are not going exactly as planned in terms of taking out of the box and applying it there; each one so far has required some additional work to get it the way its wanted,

I didn't calculate for this in the estimated 7 day install so I'm glad started earlier where i have more time available to devote to getting them comfortably correct.

I'm hoping the DVR unit wont be noticeable inside the glovebox as i don't want mechanics or car valeting crew to access and delete footage,

The DVR System's should come with a key lock code,

I had this info reserved for the Christmas Eve update but since you asked ill tell it now,

I was going with two packs of silent coat but after seeing a link to a sound proofing specialist website you posted on another thread,

I've had a browse on the site and decided to go with two packs of Dynamat Superlite instead of the Silent Coat see link:

http://www.deadening.co.uk/products/dynamat-superlite-bulk-pack

Won't be purchasing until February

Ill start with coating the main chassis then if its easier if i run out because it will be on the doors.

Ah, apologies for ruining the surprise. Excellent choice with the Dynamat. It's a proven brand and I think that's the cheapest you can get it onlline. It will be interesting to see if there is much difference from the Silent Coat. Glad all is falling into place for you even with the back condition. Don't forget to take breaks when you are doing the whole install :)

no problem mate not much of a surprise really i suppose lol,

The bigger sheets look easier to work with, and i think it may be slightly thinner than silent coat as I'm concerned about obstructing clips on some panels.

So ill have to be mindful of that when applying.

Regarding the back its been pain free since end of November, first time since 4th May,

Still get the odd pain at times but doing the physio alot of walking and the odd pain killer tablet its going pretty well,

Also use my knees instead of bending over as much,

As for obstructing panel clips with the silentcoat / sound deadening,

The silent coat I got was two mm thick maximum! And it was rather easy to squash

Don't think the Silent Coat 2mm would obstruct anything. I managed to use it and no issues. I think the Dynamat is around the same thickness or less. You will definitely save on weight with Dynamat for similar results.

Thanks guys i didn't know its only 2mm thick,

Also my Christmas Eve update wont be happening until mid January now,

My 3 week old boy is in quarantine with pneumonia in his left lung,

So obviously the focus build is not important rite now,

Vicki's with him in hospital,

He is on antibiotics, piped up to oxygen and feeding through pipe in nose down to stomach,

Hopefully we have him home for Christmas.

Thanks Jamie mate really appreciate it,

Had him at doctors last Thursday they said "ow its just mucas in his nose its normal after birth" checked his chest and said its clear,

Took him to my personal GP on Saturday he said "get him to hospital and prepare to be kept in, he's under stress"

So hes been in since yesterday in a cott like you see in a Chernobyl video,

Little skinny room 6ft x 14ft vicki's on a gym mat mattress on the floor beside em,

I offered to swap as I'm up the walls at home mate, all his stuff is here but he's not,

but she says she's staying with him, i can do nothing but cross my fingers, lite candles and look after my two daughters aged 5 and 7.

Were or she's not allowed pick him up or anything just watch em.

Were not allowed contact at all,

Yesterday they said it was bronchitis but X-ray results showed phenomena in left lung.
