Cheers Lenny as always ....... so i think the best thing for me to do is get the remap and have the Dpf removed from the ecu...then go straight to my mates garage and do the DPF ...that way i know i'm not going to do any damage to anything....why do they have to put such silly things on modern day cars.....silly ...silly....the EU have alot to answer for.. :iim:

the only reason i didn't do the Dpf on saturday was because i was unsure whether or not i would do more harm than good with him not been able to do the remap for 3 weeks...ooohh and by the way ...EGR blanker 20 min job and slight difference to spooling up but all good +1 Lenny...

Lenny...car gone into limp mode...no power....code read it came up with P242F .....pending...looked it up something to do with Dpf been sooted up...so today removed the Dpf...found the exhaust had one sensor and two pipes which were pressure sensor pipes that run up to a pressure sensor on the side of the battery tray/box.

Anyhow removed the guts from inside the exhaust still in limp mode...so booking it in for tuesday to get the remap and Dpf files deleted.

mines remapped and dpf removed- but interesting that you manually removed dpf from the system -and not remapped yet but able to reset light - wonder how long before it comes on again? keep us posted pal.

i have the dongle too, and every month connect and check for faults- not had any since remapped and dpf removed with egr delete and blocked off via manifold.

if your able to drive around for ie: a week at a time before limp mode then thats not a bad solution until people can arrange a remap at their convieniance

OK...been for a good run today..ie done just over a 100 miles....still pulling like a train and no EML on ..... no black smoke, and a good mpg.

dreadz all i've done is removed the guts from the down pipe, and welded it back up...and just reset the EML light which took it out of limp mode.

I phoned the bloke who is going to do the remap and delete the Dfp from the ecu,and he said i should be fine for a couple of weeks,as by then i will have had the remap done.

I've not removed the Dpf from the ecu, just the exhaust.

Ok ....a quick update...been running a full week with the Dpf removed,no software change,no remap ....... still going strong..done over 600 miles,no black smoke, and returning over 54 around town....the engine light is on..but it's because the fluid for the Dpf is running low....no limp mode either.... so maybe i've got lucky or what i don't know, but it's one happy motor at the min...still booked in for it's remap and ECU software correction tho.

spoke to the bloke doing the remap and he said if light is on then it's about half empty...so when it goes in for remap they will fill it with diesel that way it wont run empty and keep putting the light on....just means when it gets to half empty again i have to fill it with diesel...lol...but all's good.

no thats the lazy way- get the remap done properly. there is a sensor behind the rear offside passenger seat -this needs disconnecting and mapping out - then you dont need to fill up anything.

alot of tuners do it your way- mine went and did it properly -by removing the lot from the ecu when the remap was done

Hear what your saying dreadz ......spoke to the lad doing the remap.the reason he's saying not to disconnect the wire is,so when it goes for MOT,the tester should look to see if it's connect due to the new reg's with the Dpf......his word's not mine..lol.

he's talking rubbish pal -the dpf is purely a visual check -that sensor is nothing to do the check at all. ..believe what you choose- but trust me that method you have advised is the half assed method.

heck if thats the case then you can always connect the sensor and chop the wires further out of view...and even then you still shouldnt have to refill the tank!!!

your car, your money mate...i know from experience that mine has been done the correct way.

who's doing the reamp? you have several companies around your area that will do the job properly- as i was going to travel up that way to get mine but found a tuner that offered to do it as advised. many people i got quotes for were doing it your way- just beaware if something goes wrong and the ecu wipes, will they be able to get you back up and running?

the company is AAS..... he's just a 5 min trip down the road...i hear what your saying bud honestly ...i've tried phoning BigFish tuning but they never answer the !Removed! phone, see my problem is i'm disabled and would need a car to get back home and this company has offered me a car so i don't have to wait about while he does it.... if you know of any other company in the area please point me in the direction i will gladly check them out...or even a mobile company as i've had the Dpf removed so all it would need is the remap and the Dpf removed from the system.
