Yeah but a was driving around looking at this dash at the time or similar, actually only had the centre dial. No temp or oil pressure guage. And only had 2 seats ( van)  to put the heat on you turned a tap on top of head . So either hot or cold was options really.

And when you had a crash you knew about it. Well I did plus 5 others in the van did when I hit 2 lorries at the same time. Those were the days of no seat belts! They were good times of my youth.

I only live a short drive away from where they make them . I remember having a tour of the factory while they worked . But back then the engines they fitted were fiat twin cam and rover V8 3.5 carburettor.

Malvern? My dad and stepmum used to own a small post office in Cowleigh? Road. Nice part of the country.

Yeah, I temporary worked at a vauxhall garage just down the road from cowliegh road for a few months in the early 1980's.

The Hyundai ix20 doesn't have Convex mirrors as standard; none of the iX20 models do; not even the 2020.

However; I found a seller on eBay selling heated Convex mirror lenses for the iX20 38 GBP for the pair,

I also bought some frosted glass style decals to add a bit more class to the mirrors.

below is the difference; one on the right is standard,

1.thumb.jpg.0d7123689f273c6186eea64e1deb1239.jpg

Here's the drivers side fitted; straight swap clip off, clip on

2.thumb.jpg.15a08c1e217f2a5444107b1b4b808926.jpg

I then fitted a Hyundai logo frosted glass decal to the original mirror to hopefully ad some appeal to sell it.

Now; 😠 i dont like the previous owner whom stuck the passenger side mirror on to the ***** motor using a load of Teh7 resulting in me breaking the motor when trying to remove the original lens,

now costing me 105 euro for a replacement passenger side wing mirror in blue as its the cheapest one available in order to salvage a replacement motor

I bet you wish you had kept it in good condition. The Mini Cooper in your photo is on sale for a mere £60,000 now! Probably about 100 times what it cost new in 1965.

What I did not like much yesterday, was being outsmarted & out-maneuvered by a mouse

The day before I had heard rustling noises in my office / workshop, and thought I might have caught a glimpse of something small & dark, moving fast. I found a cake wrapper, with a hole that looked suspiciously like it had been nibbled. I put the wrapper, and another one I found, in a small cardboard box.

The next evening I heard more rustling, then it came out into the open. A little, dark mouse. I kept stock still. It skirted around the box a couple of times. It could obviously sense something interesting in it. It tried climbing up it several times, but could not get a grip. It stood back a bit, as if it was planning, then went behind the box, climbed up another, lower box, jumped across and was in!

Very slowly and quietly I stood, and moved towards the box. My plan was to quickly push down the flaps on the top, and evict the beast into the cold outside. A fraction of a second before I could do this, there was a thump & bump from inside the box, and something small & dark shot vertically out, hit the ground running, and was safely under the sideboard before I had even moved!

I stood there looking slow and stupid. It lurked under the sideboard,🐁, probably grinning. When I came back next day, both wrappers had gone entirely, so it got a free meal to boot.

I have ordered a couple of traps from Ebay, the sort that captures it, not squashes it. So round 2 may commence shortly. As I write this, I just heard some more rustling. I will probably find it can jam the trap open and take all the food in it.

Did you order a titanium trap so the mouse has keyless exit 🤣

Seriously though, speaking from experience when you do free it then don't release it locally. I once caught  mice daily for about 8 days before I realised that it was the same one because I saw were it was getting in and it never came back after releasing it further away.

Also don't set the trap on a Friday night and leave it till Monday because the mouse is unlikely to survive.

If you can poke a ballpoint pen through a hole then a mouse can get in

I thought you were going to say 'if you can poke a ballpoint pen through the trap and mark the mouse so you can see if you're catching the same one'! 😀

Apparently peanut butter makes good bait 👍

I'm sure there's an increase in the mouse population this year. Spotted one around the house a few weeks ago; the cat wasn't much help so I had to catch it myself. Managed to do it by hand, too, so next stop for me is professional bear wrestling.

You need to upgrade your cat LOL Mine is a fantastic hunter - she even bought me home a hare recently! (Photo may upset those of a delicate disposition!)

I didn't need to do that, all the ones I caught said their name was Mickey😀

All of them!?  Sounds like a Spartacus situation!

Surely there was a Mini ( Minnie ) amongst them ?

I'm convinced It was the same mouse, I made the mistake of letting it free too near the house.

Either you are a lot faster than me :wheelchair: (which is quite likely!), or my mouse is a lot faster than yours was. When it moves I can hardy see it, Its just a blur, let alone catch it.

I was out for dinner at a friend's place this evening (2nd evening out since Covid started!), and I did ask if I could borrow their rather nice looking white cat . It looked a bit tame & dozy, but I was told it was a good mouser.

diesel now £1.50 a litre in town!!!

Where I am it's 1.39 and 1.42 respectively.

I don't like the fact that I can't mess with my car anymore. I've had a 68 Escort, a 76 Escort, and you could fix them yourself to a certain extent. I was 17 and taking my carb apart to remove dirt from the float. I'm not a mechanic, but certain stuff was easy back in the day.

My car has just been in for a service, the brake fluid has to be done while it's plugged in to a laptop. It still decided to throw a complete wobbly and had to have some purge and reset procedure done by the master tech. No chance of doing that sort of thing on your drive way, I think even an independent could struggle.
