Things I Don't Like

Featured Replies

I don't like how 8am this morning felt twice as dark as 8am yesterday???

I only use 8am as I was outside at both those times so I was definitely aware of the difference... But one can assume that the darkness ratio also applies to pre and post 8am....

Well Yeh, but doubly dark is crazy... It was like a weeks difference >.<

It seems to speed up the closer you get to the equinoxes, at both ends of the day.

And on dull days, it's exaggerated

Those who drive slowly (20) in 30 and 40 zones and then proceed to let everyone out when you're in a hurry. I swear they do it on purpose!

20 limit zones up a steep hill in the area, it's impossible to do 20 in this zone, going up or especially coming down. No need for it either.

I also don't like having to work on my birthday Booooo!

15 days ago on my b'day I was knocking out the public bog we have and rebuilding it... Oh that was a joyous birthday!

The breeziness and occasional shower of this afternoon has turned into full gale with accompanying driving rain :(

So much for, if it remains dry I can do a few thing on the Focus - albeit with floodlights erected

Things I don't like:

No money for the NHS, including underpaid nurses, doctors, & surgeons.

No money for the Police forces around the country (soon there will be G4S patrolling the streets).

Plenty of money for MP's pay-rises.

Plenty of money to b0mb Syria. (Not that I necessarily disagree with such action, but we should first concentrate on ISOLATING the problem, and making sure there are no credible threats left on our own shores.)

You'll be pleased to hear that a family that has been living here for a number of years (wife and her children) whose husband has connections with Al-Qaeda (not sure if he is here) have been granted citizenship... They're not even from here!

Then there is the likes of Jihadi John, the murdering !Removed!, he wasn't even allowed back into HIS OWN country at one point, so he had to stay with us....

On the grand scheme of things MP's pay doesn't bother me, yes it might be costing me money, but it's not going to physically try to kill me...

I'd be more than happy to go with lefties and NOT b0mb Syria if they weren't the people that consistently think we should sit down with the terrorists, have a cup of tea and a cuddle...

I'm going more anymore right wing each day....

As long as the terrorist sympathiser & general 1st class gormless dork Corbyn is the Labour '' leader '' they'll be unelectable thank goodness.

Lets face it Mark, Labour are never going to be elected again. Mr. Brown hammered the final nail into that coffin.

I had to smile when I saw the look on his [Corbyn] face when Hilary Benn made his speech.

Indeed Jamie, it was very gratifying to see it squirm when Mr Benn made his speech too.

Thank God for that.

I don't like the swear filter....

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a clean site, so the removal of the 'S' word and the 'F' word, and a few other token words, however I dislike the way I can say 'Crap' and it not be removed, however I can't say T-U-R-D without it getting removed... and yes.. I am bypassing the swear filter as protest....

Now if t-u-r-d had some alternative racist, rude, bigoted or otherwise undesirable meaning, then I would be all for it's removal, however as it means "A lump of excrement" or "a person regarded as obnoxious or contemptible" by the Oxford dictionary (online at least..), whereas crap means: Poor quality, nonsense, rubbish, or excrement, I can only assume that the undesirable definition is the part about a person being regarded as obnoxious or contemptible, in which case is pretty ridiculous....considering I could just call someone a crap and it mean just the same thing....

Anyway, rant over...

Tonight's evening stroll with the dog was a battle with elements.

Although we were adequately dressed for it, some rain managed overcome my waterproof barrier, and seep into my more absorbent under and lower layers :(

The dog is quite wet too

You'd think you live in the blooming lake district with the amount you get drenched....

I thought we lived in a particularly wet part of the country, but the weather (although 'crap' or 't-u-r-d') doesn't seem to be quite as wet...haha

P.s. I'll stop with the swear filter thing as I am unaware if it is something that can be edited and until I know, I shall refrain from loopholing that word...

I used to be on a forum where Scunthorpe was blocked by the filter...which was fine until people from Scunthorpe started joining lol

Whilst wind was forecast for today: the accompanying monsoon wasn't - a few light scattered showers, apparently.

It's North wind driving it, Plymouth is south of Dorset, so the rain clouds have lost a great deal of moisture by the time you get it :P

In theory, it's going to be dry on Saturday: but they that for today

One of those facts you remember for no apparent reason, is that the girls name Cynthia is ancient Greek for the C word; found in Scunthorpe.

Moreover, far from meaning 'wife, girlfriend or female companion', the Native American (Inuit?) word 'squaw' : means the same as Cynthia.

As someone who used to live near Scunthorpe, it doesn't surprise me that the very mention of the place is blocked by a swear filter lol.

Hahaha!

Pretzel doesn't like cold floors...

Mine does that, when she wants me to wake up, and let her out for the loo; first thing

That's the third of her waking me up strategies. She begins with a paw in the face, followed by firm nose prodding anywhere she thinks will work. When that fails, she sits on me. Should I still fail to awaken, she drags the duvet off me, and takes it at the far side of the bedroom. Whereupon she sits on it and waits, uttering a fairly loud "I need the loo now" woof.

As is often the case, it is sunny and dry today, ideal working on the Focus weather. But I'm too busy today, to do some Focus related activity :(

Haha! Better than pee on the floor...

Of course, the weather world is waiting until it coincides with free time, then it'll unleash the beast..
