The newer cat has more in her bowl - she has more to lose

I believe they're debating limited airstrikes in Parliament as we speak.

Annexing of food resources is obviously an infringement of NATO policy :D

The newer cat has also annexed the litter tray, and looks as if she's about to take command of the downstairs hall

The dog is acting as a UN observer, whilst keeping her lamb ribs under guard

Realizing that I am one LED short while changing my number-plate bulbs (forgot the other one at home). Now one side of the number plate is illuminated in yellow, and the other one white lol.

I don't like the way I'm suddenly getting treated by wvm and bigger vehicles...and I've suddenly got a new sense of partial understanding (kind of  ) for boy racers, cruisers and the like. Quite sad really

As I'm suddenly getting extreme tail gaiters, stupid manoeuvres pulled, etc

My car looks boy racerish; fiesta, full dress up kit, St valance, painted white wheels, fairly powerful considering its only a 1litre, sub thumping in the boot, etc

Finding a stone chip on my rear wheel, fixed it immediately but grr

The feeling you get, as you cross a flooded meadow and water waterfalls over the top of your boots

Then knowing you've got to walk at least another 10 miles with wet feet :(

I don't like Sunday afternoon and the thought that in 18 hours I'll be sitting at work for another 5 days.

I don#t like high winds when 40 foot up on a roof repairing damaged ridge tiles........high degree of brown trouserism as I rapidly slid backward toward the end of the roof, ably assisted by a 60mph gust of wind............Yikes!!

Screws that are made out of cheese!!

Opened up my PC (laptop) to do some maintenance, and remove a component that never gets used. Got one of the screws out, the other one became terribly deformed, and refused to budge. Why oh why do manufacturers put such scrap metal in these things? A lot of expletives were shouted during the whole process.

In the end, I had to leave the component in place, and just disconnected the power/data cable that goes to it. Good to know I'll be carrying around dead weight.

I don't like finding a mystery item, on my Tesco receipt, with a title "Tablets" that I can't even place what it could be. There no tablets purchased on this Tesco visit, nor anything tablet first Aid/Medication like. Looking at the order on the receipt, it occured between the cat litter shelf and the bakery section

Of course, Tesco had shut when I noticed. :(

I had this happen once before, when the scanner confused a bottle spring water (45p): for a Persian rug (£125) but I noticed before I'd left the store

Whereas, I'm only £9 out of pocket, with this error, this time :huh:

Did you try putting a blob of superglue in the deformed cheese screw head, prior to putting your driver on it? Sometimes that works: sometimes not

I checked earlier, and realized I didn't have any. Sod's law. :(

Regarding the Tesco thing - that has happened to me a few times before - more often than not the cashier has fat fingers, and accidentally keys in an additional item that has nothing to do with your shopping without realizing.

Washing powder tablets maybe?

I don't like the fact Christmas seems to have started already. :s

Those things always catch me out!

I don't like the feeling of breathlessness or chest pains, despite being told by my doctor there is nothing wrong with me. It is obviously stress related but I think I'd prefer a physical problem, at least then it could be treated.

Too much sulphur dioxide and/or sodium metabisulphite in certain soft drinks, makes me breathless with minor chest pains. Lime cordial is one of the worst offenders for that.

Never heard of that before! To be honest there are so many things that could cause it (McDonalds, Coca Cola, Marlboros...) but I have to accept it is "all in my head".

My dear ol' Grandmother used to smoke (only 5-6 a day), enjoyed a hot toddy every night (had to be Lamb's Navy Rum), loved eating cakes and stuff.

Pretty much fit as a fiddle, gave it all up and died shortly after. Just sat down and went to sleep (coat on & bag in hand ready to go for a hospital appointment, of all things lol)

Moral of the story: keep enjoying a little bit of what you fancy!

The fact she was mid-80's is irrelevant lol

Pusser's rum for my hot toddies :)

Gunpowder proof is the best i.m.o.

Yep, that's what I'm aiming for! I only smoke 3-4 a day at the most and not at all when I'm at home, so all I really need to rein in is the fat and sugar which is a little excessive at present.

I've not had the proper gunpowder proof stuff - but even the "regular" 40% is veeerrrrryyyyy tasty!!

With any luck, I'll be qualifying soon - soo err, little present to myself will be a bottle of the good stuff :D

In true Navy spirit, I'll be sharing with some very good friends!! (And some Port for those who have no taste, err, don't like Pussers!!)

I need to lose some weight and cut out a load of that crap too lol

(Don't smoke though lol)

My problem is gaining weight. I can (and do) eat all the crap in the world but the scale won't go above the 10 stone mark. That said, it's probably to do with my eating schedules rather than how much I eat on the whole. For example, I never have breakfast and rarely have lunch either, so I literally get up at 06:00 drink a gallon of coffee and/or energy drinks, go to work at 08:30 and it is only when I get home at 18:00 that I eat. So out of the 18 hours I am awake I fast for the first 12 and stuff my face for the last 6.

I put on just under a stone during my last trip lol

Not my place to preach..... But I will anyway...

Brekkie is really important, even if it's just *something*, but also energy drinks are really bad regarding their sugar content... Some friends I know don't eat breakfast and but they'll have coffee and energy drinks because 'they feel tired/sluggish'... But that is due to lack of sustenance...

I'm awful at breakfast, I can't really stomach food before working, probably because I get up as close to panic time as possible... So my body is still stretching and yawning inside.. However I've found a liquid breakfast to be really good and filling me up (although it can make me want to sleep!) I generally have a pint of milk, frozen strawberries, scoop of whey powder and a bunch of oats, thrown into a blender... Everyone hates it and say it tastes gritty, but it works for me...

It's just trying to find that *thing* that you can work with. Boil some eggs the night before and have a hard boiled egg... You'll have scoffed it before you realise..

Anyway, all that being said, I do have a slight layer of podge I'd be happy to exchange for muscle.. So I'm not perfect by any means..

^ Couldn't agree more about breakfast, I couldn't function without it. I'd be distracted by hunger just driving to work. If you don't have breakfast is that because you're not hungry when you wake up, or just in a hurry to get to work?

To jump back in, I personally can function without breakfast, I didn't have any until 10 today (liquid brekkie), but that's because I've trained myself badly to cope without it..., however I know I'm better for having it.. For me I don't tend to feel hungry and don't think I could stomach it, of course I actually can stomach it, but it's just forcing yourself to eat when you don't feel it necessary is strange...(even though I need it and will get hungry by mid morning)...

Plus I normally go to the gym in the evenings (every other night) and I've tried going after a really busy day where I don't eat until after lunch, and it doesn't feel great, my body clearly wants a gentle build up over the day to function at its best..

*the reason energy drinks concern me is the massive amount of sugar that they have in them. I really tend to watch my sugar intake, but that's only through seeing how much sugar other people have on a daily basis and it's quite alarming. Know a couple guys that have 2 teaspoons of sugar in every cup of tea, and they'll drink at least 5-6 on the go, so who knows how many before and after working... So it's at least 10-12 teaspoons of sugar BEFORE you stack up the hidden sugars (bread, pasta sauces etc)...

Again, sorry to sound preachy, it's just a topic I'm interested in..

Haha, glad that's sorted then! :D

On the subject of breakfast, I have two slices of wholemeal toast whether I feel like it or not (I usually don't tbh), not entirely sure I need the fibre lol but it seems to set me up for a while and white toast was giving me more bowel problems than usual. I'm also really trying to cut down on fat and sugar though, it amazes me how much fat is in 'normal' things, I'm normally over the GDA just on one meal! I read a ready meal in Tesco last week that was over 90% of your GDA...why do they even sell something like that? Surely they could use healthier things to create the same meal? I'm not 'fat' either, in fact I don't even hit double figures on the scales, have been in the 'seriously underweight' band for about 6 years lol. But I am worried about the longer term effects of sugar and fat on the body.
