I don't like the 2 months of paper work I have to do.....

...for Saturday...

Sunday morning, after the dog stroll, is usually my paperwork time.

However, what with the flaky internet and no landline this weekend: it all got done, ahead of schedule on Friday :)

11 packs of a dozen ...

Free range eggs from lidl, bought a box of eggs in boxes.... Minus the one pack... I tend to go through them at a massive rate.. (for protein)... Failing getting through them all, I'll command the wife make me a cake, that should get rid of a load either way....*

* she'll either make one after telling me off, or throw the eggs at me...

Won't your dog help you out with excess eggs?

We actually tried her with a couple eggs once, she loved them, then the mother in law got wind of it and when she made something that required like 12 egg whites, she gave Pretzel (the dog) 12 yolks... The barf was horrendous... So we've not risked it again...

As for the paper work, it's the sort of thing in September I promised I wouldn't leave until last minute... That didn't last. The plan is to do it every Monday... But I'm not very good at sticking to that...

Never tried that many yolks in go with mine. She has had 4 yolks, when I make pavlova or a batch of meringues. She'll have an entire egg, a couple of times a week.

The cats will share a yolk but they don't like a complete egg unless it's whipped up.

I have to say with deadlines, I do tend to leave it until the last possible moment...and manage to get there with only seconds to spare

Sigh... Made a bit of a dent tonight... Still going, but I've organised most of the receipts at hand... Need to plug them into the computer, unfortunately the accountants got my latest copy, so I need to grab that off him tomorrow... Clown!

Wife's mum used to do cooking for mother and toddler groups and church groups, so it was always big batches.. Poor Pret couldn't handle being so spoiled... Naturally she only realises after she's gorged herself!

The dog has wind: :wacko::rolleyes:

The room has been filled pungent dog gas  :o

The older cat has left the room: and indeed, the house

Not entirely sure of the cause, she's only had her pork stick/sword/dagger/thing tonight. Well, 6" of it - it takes her a week to gnaw away a full length one. Must have been something she found in the garden

Has Pret tried a pork stick/sword/dagger/thing?

Shes a strange one, most dogs will work away at things and eat little bits as they go (rawhide stuff), ours tends to chew it just enough to make it slightly soggy, then she swallows the whole thing... Which again, means she barfs it up... >.<

So she gets softer treats, she loves those dentastixs, carrots etc... Anything she has to work away at tends to come back to haunt us one way or another.

Basically she's a glutton. I dropped an olive on the floor and she ran over to it, realised she didn't like it, but got all crabby when I tried to pick it up as I was taking it away from her...

I don't like waking up to find the Nissan's windows covered in a white frost.

To this point it has been above 3*C every morning so no need to pre-start the engine, although if from now on I think it'll need a 10-15 warm up before going anywhere.

With that in mind and that I have to get to work by 09:00, I'd better get dressed and start said car.

In that case, a pork stick/sword/dagger/thing is best avoided for Pret: it's a 1.2M long rolled rawhide, when new, and 100mm stubby thing at the end of a week with it

It's a pity the Nissan doesn't have the heated windscreen of the Foci.

I need to fix my glow plugs as mine are really struggling. Though as I just shelled out 160 for a fuel filter and thermostat housing replacement.

Heated windscreen? As far as I was aware the only way to heat the windscreen was to use the blower...

You can't fix them, the only option would be to replace.

In the meantime though you could put them through two heat cycles before cranking to compensate.

Actually, thinking about it, I think it's only the Ghias and Titaniums that have heated windscreens; not sure whether it was an option with the Zetecs

No it never had such a feature! 10-15 minutes idling with the heater on defrosted it though.

I know a lot of people these days would say "oh no, you don't need to warm up your car! It pollutes the environment and causes more wear to your engine *blah blah blah blah*" but I'm old fashioned and warming the car up in cold weather has NEVER caused any issues. There is no way a stone cold engine can be sufficiently lubricated if put under load immediately. Ridiculous.

Sorry, I went into another rant there - but then again this is a "don't like" thread so it's fine

P.S. How exactly does the defrost feature work?

Exactly the same principle as a heated rear windscreen, but instead of thin wires: it uses a silver/zinc oxide film between two glazing sheets.

I've got a feeling that Ford invented it, the Granada Mk3 was one of the first cars to have it in 1985, or thereabouts

It would have to be invisible though, not too sure about that idea...

Using the windscreen blower works fine for me.

It is invisible, but it restricts/blocks gps signals, toll readers, some sensors etc

So, you have to have this zone, above your mirror, to mount any interior aerials etc.

And I imagine it costs an arm and a leg should you need a replacement windscreen?

I believe they're quite prohibitive :(

But not as costly as bullet-proof windscreens to replace, as Aviva found out.

The last BMW in my BMW phase, had bullet-proof glass, which whilst bullet-proof was not scratch-proof. A stray concrete block that fell off the truck, in front of the Mondeo, that I was behind on the A30. After hitting the Mondeo, the block flew off his roof, slid up along my bonnet and put a path of scratches up my windscreen, in the MOT critical zone :(

National Windscreens hadn't a replacement in the UK. Well, it was a South African import. One had to be flown over. The screen alone cost Aviva £2500! :o :o That was nearly 15 years ago now

Jesus... Yeah, I'll stick with my standard glass. It'll chip and crack, at least it only costs a £75 excess to replace.

That was quite an expensive incident for Aviva and the truck company, rebuilding the Mondeo, my bonnet and my excessively priced windscreen.

I wonder if the driver was disciplined for failing to secure his load properly?

How did you manage to get £75 windscreen excess? I thought £100 is now the normal excess

I've now got an excessively dry mouth, from the anchovy and olive based dressing, I had with my big bowl of leaves :(

The two litres of water I've subsequently drunk; have yet to make an impact <_<

Yuck, leaves >.<

The wife throws them on all my food. I suppose love can be cruel sometimes :p

Nope, not with Aviva at least.

Probably due to the size of the voluntary excess.
