MarkyR
I think there will be one possibly haha. It's tough, everyone THINKS that one will be launched next year or so but Ford's official stance was no they won't but that was due to the recession, I also think that was before the scrappage scheme? So I would say yes personally.
adzmcp
last visit to Ford collage one of the tutors was telling us abut cars coming out next year and we asked about the ST/RS Fiesta. He said he had SEEN one. Not a fully body kitted one etc but a fiesta that looked standard with a 1.6 Petrol Turbo (Poss the Ecoboost) engine bolted in. He was told it was a test model for the performance Fiesta. So sounds good

thesilverfox
Look at the MKVII. Just look at it ... would be rude not to make an ST in my opinion!
eagle_gr
lots off peaple sayin dif things! thats me! He said he had SEEN one. Not a fully body kitted one etc... yeap, in my country there are a few people claiming that they know an insider (lol) who actually saw a fiesta with recaro seats and everything being developed in germany. Everyone believes that within the new year , the mk7 fiesta st will be ready along with ecoboost engines (perhaps 1,6 l , turbo producing 160-180 bhp) and even double paddle gearbox (omg! ) Dont know what to expect....after all, we are discussing about ford so everything is possible (or impossible) for them.... :P

Would be a really popular car i think Definitely! (and not forgetting the Clio 200 either, my brother has one and it's lovely!) IMO Ford haven;t done anything decent for years. Even the Focus RS is a disappointment in my eyes, but i'd still have one :P Ford need to maximise on the success of the new Fiesta and make a really hot version, SOON! :)

MarkyR
Audi have the A1 launch next year, BMW is releasing a 0 series with FRONT WHEEL DRIVE!! So Imagine RS and M versions of those!! They are all Fiesta size or thereabouts, but I would imagine over 20k for hot versions so if Ford price it at 19 to 20k they should be fine. But then again how much will the ST and RS versions of the new Focus cost? That will have an impact on a Fiesta ST price.

Have to admit the ST/RS Focus are cheap when you think...so the fiesta ST shouldn't be that much...but FWD hot hatches is where its at...racing, road...getting better, looking better, going faster!! FMC
which one is that?!?!the latest is 192bhp 2.0 16v aint it? No it's 200bhp as the name suggests ;) his has the Cup chassis too which has lower, stiffer suspension and a quicker steering rack than the standard sport 200. Current spec of my Focus ST2 (there or thereabouts becasue the specs have changed slightly on the available option packs) is about £23K - a current Focus RS with option pack 2 is close to £28.5K :o Future costs of a sporty Fiesta will probably enter at bog standard spec around £18k - but expect to pay £20K or more for something with decent level of kit. InstructorPiggy
but a basic 1 series BMW is 16.5k...no extra options, 1.6i puffed out pants engine!!...stooopid choice... RS from 29k ST from 22k (quite low really if the Fiesta ST guna be 19k plus!) The clio cup, damn, my bad, 200bhp..altho i wonder if thats PS??...but with loadsa options, only 19k...so quite interesting really, if we looking at same price for a Fiesta ST. thesilverfox
The last Fiesta ST was aroud 14k new, right? If a Zetec-S/Titanium 1.6 (diesel or petrol) is RRP of around 14k ... it's going to make for a very expensive performance Fiesta as many of you rightly point out. It's going to have to be something VERY special for the price tag, unless Ford plan to launch such a car after a price cut (no price cut is likely in the foreseeable). It makes you wonder if they would skip the 'ST' level and push for an 'RS' right away, what with the Mountune upgrade the same performance (give or take) as the previous ST. Paying potentially £20k for a Fiesta, on paper, sounds like utter madness, doesn't it?
InstructorPiggy
yea, defo...evo 8/9 with low miles, 300+bhp immaculate go for 12k...I will have one of them I think!! just spotted this...maybe RS/ST for next year??? was this actually available? "Fiesta ST In 2008, Ford offered Mountune Performance options for Fiesta ST vehicles, available at specialist British Ford dealers beginning 2008-03-01. It was developed by Roush Technologies Ltd, which owns the Mountune Racing motorsport brand. Mountune Performance Stage 1 (£1,435) includes high flow catalyst and tubular manifold, and re-calibration of the engine to produce 165 PS (121 kW; 163 hp). Mountune Performance Stage 2 package (£1,838) adds new camshafts and valve springs to the basic package to deliver 185 PS (136 kW; 182 hp).[17]" ???? thats quick!! AndrewL
MASSIVE GUESS ALERT! I think Ford will make an ST version of the Mk7 and that it'll have the 1.6 ecoboost engine with about 160-180bhp. This specific power output to provide an improvement over the mk 6 model but not quite enough to interfere with potential buyers of whatever next gen Focus ST model comes out in the future. I agree with FMC that a base model (well specced nontheless) will cost around £18k. This is the best attempt at it I've seen, http://www.channel4.com/4car/media/feature...sta-st-2009.jpg . Also, about the PS thing, the conversion factor between BHP and PS is 1.0139, so I think it must be a different model to the one you were thinking of Piggy. :)
InstructorPiggy
here go... dont look special enough for me or my bank to give me 18k to spend on it. I rekon MINIMUM 180bhp...as the french are getting that with their 1.6turbos..so gota try to beat that...or they just use the french lump like with the 1.6/1.4TDCIs! think the ST/RS festa should be based more on this... or
