thats the problem i have i carnt see the amount of tax it will cost me until i go through to order it, so thats why i carnt do that and wont know the exact cost, but i worked it out my car cost me nearly £2300 a year with insurance tuyres service mot ect, so a company cat costing my near £150 eaxtra a month i wont see any really difference. im not a fan of the clio i dont like it so thats a no, i do like the ds3 but there isnt a lot of range i can pick from as its restricted to my age ect, ive been in a TT and wounlt have one, and no the company wont let me take the money in my pay packet, i have to pick a car so i could get an C1 and be paid near £200 a month for it and then get another car for fun but i wouldnt be seen in one haha,

yh i do like peugeot my mum has had one since i can remember and she has the new 508 2lt allur and its great soo much torque it just keeps pulling, so im fairly sure my choices are bewteen an rcz a golf gti and a 508, id get any of them in a 2lt petrol or desiel tbh

What engine RCZ would you get? I'll post up an example of how much it will cost out of your wages to have one.

either 1.6 petrol or 2lt desiel, petrol is 149gco2 and desiel is 135gco2

Well you can do the work on HMRC website, an RCZ is cripplingly expensive to take as a company car.

ccording to the details you have provided, the results are: Car benefit charge (2014/2015) £4,879.00 Car fuel benefit charge (2014/2015) £0.00

In order to calculate the tax due on company car benefit and company car fuel benefit, the amounts calculated above need to be applied to an employee's other income and tax information. Without additional information it is not possible to give the actual amounts of tax liability, however the following examples provide an indication of the tax that would be due if the full amount(s) of benefit are charged at the basic (20%) and higher (40%) rates only: Tax Liability indicator: 20% 40% Company Car Tax (2014/2015) £975.80 £1,951.60 Company Car Fuel Tax (2014/2015) £0.00 £0.00

Summary of details: Tax year: 2014/2015 Car availability during relevant tax year: From: 01/06/2014 To: 30/03/2015 Number of days unavailable during the period above: 0 List price (including VAT and accessories): £24495 Employee capital contribution: £0 Employee payments made towards private use: £0 Date first registered: 1998 onwards Fuel type: All other types (A) Engine capacity: 1401cc to 2000cc Approved CO2 emissions figure: 155 Does your employer pay for private fuel? No

Thats the amount you'd drop in wages between 01/06/14 and 30/03/15

Personally I'd rather have £5k than that,

Whatcar when looking up on thier website also has these figures for you, if you get your company to pay for fuel you'll also pay out for that.

When you look at that, It's like financing the car over 5 years with a small APR.

The RCZ is a pretty good car, it is available with one of the most powerful engines per litre.

The main reason it is cheaper than a TT is that it is based off the 308 platform which lowers production costs. That and you are not paying for the Audi nameplate.

Seems like a much better value car to me than the Audi, servicing is cheaper too. Obviously that is if bought privately though, no point if you pay through the roof in tax for a company car.

Might be worth picking a few cars and working out the tax on each of them. One might then stand out as a better deal for what it is.

I know dude, I get offered one here but I don't take it, no car allowance would rather just keep the money, or you need the car for work, get a VW Up! for £99PM and nothing to insure or run and be better off, you won't look as cool ( seriously it's an woeful looking thing ) but you'll save a lot of money by doing it, as a suggestion, but there are pages you can look up where you get the view cars by cheapest BIK rating and go from there.

Can you not get a Hybrid of some sort?

ive checked with a collegue and his a3 only costs him an extra 50 a month for tax so im not sure the rcz figure is true i will only know when i order the car, im only young once i have next to no bills to pay so as long as it doesnt cost me more than my car atm to have then ill have it, ill check some bik listings for cars but i dont want an up haha, i like the golf so will check that next, and hybrid cars acc cost me more a month with the company than any other car, a prius is an extra £180 a month work that one out!!! yet an st they will pay for to drive it weird!!! and yh im looking into the 208 now :)

Yeah they are good cars, not as good to drive as the Fiesta but have a much nicer interior! You might be able to get a good deal on one too, it's due a facelift next year so you could get a hefty discount?

The other trouble with company cars is if you leave / or worse ? you don't have any wheels, I was offered a company car year's ago I would'nt touch one, I dont have to explain to no one where I've been or what I've been doing? , nobody can borrow it for half an hour etc..

BIK on a Diesel A3 is substantially cheaper 1.6 TDI for instance is 99GM/KM CO2 ( somehow, the 1.4 TDI A1 is as well, lying again Audi?), the ST and 208 GTI are a few K PA lower.

Some cars just cause you to Hemorrhage money.

yh i think im going to have to look into the cars mores when i can see how much each will cost me tax a month, its hard as i carnt even opted out as its in our contract we have a company car due to calls outs and being realibe to fix a fault in an emergency :/ but i know on our insurance with work anyone can drive the car with my permission and fully comp on their car and the allownece of driving other cars so i wont have a problem of pthers driving it and i can also add up to 3 people on the car for free no extra monthly cost, hmm i just dunno how it all works tbh haha dont really get it like how much the tax is worked out and things. is it better to have a car of my own its never really explained much like anything in my company haha

Wish I could pay 20% tax, would be epic. gets to the point were a salary rise isn't noticable unless it's in increments of 6K a year lol

In that case I'd go for the Golf TSI Petrol, was better than a Pug, much quicker too, 220 PS model or it the R 300PS Model? would it be DSG?

DSG is brilliant, works so well, what the Clio 200 should have had / copied.

220 in a Golf will be plenty of power, try and have a drive in one though, the dashes and door cards are quite high up in them, if you're over say 5 10" should be fine though.

Ok here's my 2p.....sorry..

Your young mate, and if you haven't got much outgoings and a half decent wage, then just get something that's not going to break the bank and that you will *ENJOY*

RCZ- sorry mate I'd not bother. Looks great, same old drab crappy pug interior. And I'd worry about the gearbox.

Fiesta ST - for sure! But again the inside isn't quality, but totally liveable with though.

Pug 208 GTI - I'd not have one, but I can see the appeal.

My *company* car at the moment is a Skoda Octavia VRS, with DSG. I've had her for almost 2 years now and she's taken a battering. 65k on the clock and it's feeling tired. Why? The DSG box. Yes it changes gear oh so quickly, but it's fun soon wears off and you'll wish you went manual. Why? Mainly the software. Let's face it,you won't use the paddles all the time, and the gearbox never seems to know what gear to be in. If they would have put a bit more thought and marketed the DSG version properly and given it better ratios, better software, much bigger and better placed paddles etc then it may be a different story. It will be the same story with Audi and VW as they are the same. The clio uses the same tech and is also double clutch, but I've not driven one yet, but want to. On the other hand, I was given a Volvo v40 at the weekend to evaluate over 2 shifts. What a breath of fresh air. The torque converter box was much better, and the car is much better suited to the job.

Do you have to go brand new?

If not, check out a 1 year old, last of the 'old' shape Seat Leon FR+ Supercopa 2.0 tdi. Looks fantastic, goes well and is loaded with every extra....WTCC bodykit, bi adaptive xenons, sat nav etc etc

I have to say, my mums 2008 207 still looks and feels new, even after 6 years and 40,000 miles, wheras the MK2 Focus we looked at (same age and mileage) was a lot more worn inside and out.

The RCZ has nice interior, the 208 and 308 have really nice interior! Much more modern than the Fiestas. (I still love the Fiesta)

The insides have got better on Pugs, for sure. The higher spec newer ones are ok. I had (apologies in advance) a brand new 308cc as a courtesy car for a month whilst they did some warranty work on the little fez. Interior was crap in that, and also in the RCZ they had in also. Maybe it was a low spec one?

i would only get the gt rcz a sporty interior and touch screen sat nav with all the gadgets for sure, the golf is alright inside but nothing in standard at all, everything is an extra would i dont like but i do like the idea of flapply paddles haha hmm and yh sadly its new only we arnt aloud to choice anything else but due to some safety rubbish ie if someone was sacked would they sabbatage the car ect its very stict on safety here lol

cheers for all the input tho guys :)

Don't go Golf, they are seriously dull and overrated IMO. I'd go something Ford, Alfa or Peugeot personally! ;)
