Awwwwww my head is all over the place!!

UPDATE 2:

Just rang Dave at Just Ford. He knew who I was, straight away! :D

I really layed my authority down on this one and told him straight. I've made a deal with him, I could buy the car for £1,200 and the brand new clutch I got lying around in my bedroom.

Things I have to consider though, it's been basically upgraded to a Zetec. It's got a Zetec interior (apparently) and obviously the bumper. And it's had a new gearbox (3rd gear had a worn out syncromesh) as well as the clutch.

This has completely swung it for me because I could have the car back for that and have the problems with it fixed. Oh I'm so confused! I don't know what to do!

Advice??

To be honest I wouldn't touch this certainly wouldn't hand over any money to them. Your insurance will have listed the car as a total loss, you need to find out what is it's status now if it is still a total loss then it is worthless for anyone with any sense other than paying scrap value for it. Also remember 'upgraded to a Zetec' could translate as 'stolen Zetec with your old numberplate on it and the chasis number changed' this might not even be your old car. If you suspect anything report the trader to Trading Standards they will check all the cars on the site if they have enough evidence to and if not no harm done.

3RD AND FINAL UPDATE:

By looking at some of the posts I can't see many of you being very happy about this.

We went to see the car and take it for a test drive.

First we gave the body work a good look over (and jacked it up to see it was all done properly), that was fine. Then I we went inside to open the bonnet and to start it up and we thought we were in the wrong car! Got the dark Focus Zetec interior with a pale brown wood effect dashboard and door trim. So cosmetically and structurely, the car was very impressive.

Then we took it for a drive and to be honest it drove better than it ever did with me. Got new clutch, gearbox and brakes, basically drives like new. No strange knocks or squeaks, no funny feelings while driving so it was all good.

I said I'd be happy to seal the deal on the condition that I find out on the insurance whether, because I cancelled the claim, the car was formally made a total loss. Rung them up and because I cancelled the claim they didn't bother formally writing the car off (which annoyed me slightly). Then I looked through the documents for all the repairs, looked legit and done by professional companys.

Then I put the deposit down, car comes back next Friday.

Hope I'll still be allowed to come to the meet even though I have a different car though.

Sounds OK then. How come all the dash and seats were changed then?? Seems a bit odd...

Well the guy who fixed it up owns a Ford specialised dismantler. He said he put the new interior in to make a profit.

It was a bit surreal. It was like it had a make over by Changing Rooms.

All my friends keep asking if it's got the same number plate though, why, ever since I've had the car does everyone think I have a private plate?!

Lol, because of that everyone calls me Nuggy and everyone (inc. the mother) calls the car Nugget.

It's going to be the slowest week of my life! Just makes me laugh, my 4th car is the same car I had as my 3rd. :o

£1,200 and a clutch I tried selling to him when he came to take the car off me. I think it's a pretty good deal to be honest.

Fair play mate, it's a shame that the Fiesta won't be happening though. Bit more space in the Focus though I'd imagine.

It was very strange test driving it! At least I was covered as I'm still insured on it.

It would've been nice to have a new car but I did love my old one to be honest. And oh yes that space has been put to good use! I've used it for like everything (even camped in it a few times), my mate's Dad used to to move a sofa, and my mate's auntie used it to take garden waste to a skip.

Weres that next meet.

Dunno yet. We're discussing it on Sunday on Chatsy.

If i saw it advertised, i'd be tempted. I'm tall so i think i'd appreciate the bigger car!!
