Since my update to 3.4 20351 I've got one or two missing DAB logos, but am not messing with it any further for now. Plus, I just filled all my presets with various stations and they're not even ones I would probably use! On the whole, they all seem to be there though, and I'm continuing to love the update/night mode look.

Installing this requires the creation of a simple one item autoinstall.lst file. I've uploaded it here:

Take your USB flash drive and format it exFAT (quick format is fine).

Create a folder called SyncMyRide in the root of this drive.

Place the autoinstall.lst file in the root of this drive too.

Copy the DAB logo file you downloaded into the SyncMyRide folder.

Unplug your flash drive from PC and plug it into your car.

Update should take only a few minutes.

Most DAB/FM station logos should be displayed again. (I'm still missing BBC R5 Live).

This process worked fine for me but it is entirely up to you if you want to risk trying it on your own car.

 

 

Hi, apologies if I’ve posted this question twice? I’ve just registered. I recently updated my Sync 3.4 to build 20282 on a Kuga Mk3 (from Ford website via USB). I’ve lost all of the DAB logos and found this thread while trying to work out how to restore them. I’ve tried the install that @colinmcg71 posted on p37 but I noticed that was for an earlier build version and sadly although it said it had installed, I’ve still not got any logos back. Colin, I wondered if there was a specific version for build 20282? Or should it work regardless? Really annoying that they’ve disappeared so any help very much appreciated. Cheers Jay

I see the problem now. You don’t actually have the dab logo file. What you have there are calibration files for FORScan which were in my public folder too. Sorry about that.

This is a link to the logo file direct from Ford.

Download and place only this file in your SyncMyRide folder. No need to unzip it either.

After that you should be good to go.

Thanks @unofix I’ve double checked and definitely have just the autoinstall file in the root of the USB and within the SyncMyRide folder just the one file ending ....25000.TAR.GZ - It said it had installed, the system restarted but the logos didn’t appear.

Thanks @colinmcg71 that’s done the trick! The vast majority of the logos are there, brilliant thanks for your help. I’d have never have found that info otherwise! Is there anyway of manually adding the individual missing logos (5 Live, Kisstory, Heart 80s etc) or is that it? Sure you’ve probably already answered this question somewhere in the thread! 👍🏻

I’m afraid that’s all the logos we can get for now. It’s up to Ford to add them into the next logo file whenever that will be. 
Glad you got some of them back though.

Anyone find out why we can't switch on local hazard information in the settings?

Live traffic and hazard updates is ....wait for it ............ a Subscription thing that you have to PAY for. Funny no one told me that when I bought the car. Mine expired at the begining of March and I was sent a message asking if I wanted to Sign up.

I think it is £2.99 per month, so I didn't bother

I have live traffic free for two years and it is switched on in the sync options. But local hazard has never been highlighted, so I can't switch it on. 

Think it may depend on the build version of sync3 software you have Whether or not it is actually identified separately in the settings. I'm on 3.4 build 20136 . I had to pay from this year and although in settings it just says hazard info the local hazard info is definitely shown..And it's actually £3.49 per month and it has always been clearly stated  that its only free for 2years.

So how do you switch it on within the two year free period?

Settings/Connectivity settings/Live traffic on .

Of course you must also have all the other connectivity settings on eg modem rtc

Hi Comares2001, thanks for the price information, it's even worse than I thought. As far as being "clearly stated", I stand by what I said at no point before I bought my car in July last year from A Ford Main Dealer did they say "Oh by the way bits of your car will stop working unless you pay more money". So now my Wifi modem is no longer active (not a problem as I didn't use it) and my Live Traffic has recently stopped.

Just read in the small print that after 3 years the engine will stop working unless I subscribe for a small fee of £50 per month.

Ok just kidding on that last bit (I hope).

Yes, but that doesn't switch on local hazard, it stays greyed out.

I'm also on 3.4 build 20136 and also pay the £3.49 per month.

I get the following display which confirms Live Traffic but I don't see any information regarding Local Hazard.

Where in settings do you see Hazard ?

Some owners have this display that shows the Local Hazard option but I assume that is from a 3.4 later build version ?

That's exactly what mine looks like. Have never been able to switch it on.

I am on 3.4 and have been from day one. I'll have to get the build number later though.

Even if you don't have the local hazard option if you have an active subscription you should still see local hazard info . I do. There were lots of posts last year on this subject when 3.4 was released because some later vehicles got a different build from others that included this option in settings.

Just out of curiosity as I think ive seen people do this in this thread..

on a 2017 Kuga you can't get over Sync 3.0... Am I able to download the files using one of the links in this thread (if someone could provide the link to either the files or the page on this thread where its explained that would be appreciated! 😁 ) and put 3.4 onto the Kuga with no issues?

My question is would it be easy to downgrade back to fords original 3.0 if needs be, I wouldn't want it to invalidate any warranty etc that is on the vehicle
