No we've always had one. It's a boarding school too (I'm a day student) so that might have something to do with it.

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

They didn't have Christmas parties when I was at school/college.

Still wrote on slates when you were at school though didn't they?

Ooh triple rate pay instead of catering for 12, I know what I'd prefer lol ;)

Triple pay for 25th and 26th then double for the rest of the period up to the 2nd.

Will come in handy as SWMBO has decided she wants a full house makeover including a new kitchen :(

The work surface she wants is £1000 itself :( :(

Know anyone in the trade?

I've got a chippy who fits kitchens a lot too...

Not quite slates but close.

We had the cutting technology of the day, sliding blackboards on a rail

Oooh . . . the screech of chalk on the blackboard - makes me shiver even now :)

Granite composite work surface?

My next door neighbour has had their kitchen redone, she wanted marble, not just any marble but a white with just ripple of variation

Her brother-in-law (who's in the stone business, conveniently) supplied it at mate/in-law rate for £20K :o :o

Haha we actually had some black boards...a few white boards, one teacher had a roller black board, but it was like a rubbery sort of material...

The 'new' school extension that was built in my final year, had a roller blackboards instead of the sliding rail variety.

Oddly, the secondary school I went to was designed by my Dad, before I was born. One of his first commisions in Dorset.

We had roller blackboards at my primary school when I was there until 2008 (I think...), but they are probably all replaced now. We had one whiteboard (the electronic type with projector) and that's probably in all the classrooms now.

I'm glad we had the blackboards, it made learning much simpler.

Is that because you decided you wanted a nice, shiny new car? lol

Clive could get several shiny new ST3s for the cost of a full house makeover: if my neighbour is anything to go by

You do realise this is a Ford forum, and mentioning another brand of vehicle in the TIDL thread is strictly forbidden and punishable with a 6 month ban? :o

Yes they're lovely aren't they. :D Nothing really comes close to ride and interior quality quality this side of a Rolls Royce.

I've made it clear I like other brands apart from Ford and I haven't been banned yet. :D

Never been in a roller, Well I lie, I've been in a rolls royce of the tractor world... A Fendt. And driving any other tractor just doesn't cut it after you've been reared on a Fendt

Something you want to say? :P

Can't get over how warm it is today, the dog and I were experiencing a balmy morning walk at 15°C at 8am, this is temperature of May morning :)

Just pointing out your fatal attractions to other manufacturers haha

On the temperature front, agreed, I'm amazed at how mild it is (for us at least), despite warnings of worst winters on record...

Obviously still got Jan Feb March and even early April, where temperatures can go south, but so far I'm amazed.
