I do like enjoying a bottle of Jim Beam, and when I say a bottle...

Yes, that was full 6 hours ago. And yes, I am somewhat intoxicated.

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I don't want to speak too soon, but I do like having possibly secured myself a MK1 Focus...

As I say, don't want to count my chickens, but looks positive...

Is that the head of an upright vacuum, I spy on your laptop, to the right of empty Jim Beam?

I was counting chickens about 6pm, well chicken infrastructures - 93 there were, now in two draws in the freezer. Brandy's tea for the next couple of months :)

Drunk ebaying?

Just glad I could contribute. I may be skint but if I can spend £10 on a pack of !Removed! (sorry, "faggots") I can pay £25 towards one of the best forums on the internet!

Expensive meatballs, should try Aldi or Lidl for them...

I do like the swear filter on here, not sure faggots is any less offensive in the wrong context.

The world is quite funny, I never really shopped in lidl and aldi, I think because of preconceptions...the local ones here are on what was (and to some extent still is), a not great street, and that sort of reflects on a minority of its clientele, but we've been shopping there for over a year now, we still do runs to the big brand supermarkets for other items, but fruit n veg, milk, eggs, all from lidl and the savings are great and without sacrificing quality.

Oh no, that's strictly vacuum cleaners. This was Gumtree, still not sure how it will work out...

The dog and have had a pleasant long walk, in around the area, sort of following the rivers Stour and Winterbourne. Not as muddy as last week, despite all the weeks rain :)

We have Lidl here but not an Aldi. The Lidl car park leaves a lot to be desired, you fear you might crack or deform an alloy, on the numerous deep pot holes. :( There is also a lack of grassy verges, for Brandy's pre-shopping ablutions; nor any suitable trees to park under

However, that aside, the do represent good value on eggs, and fishy treats for the cats :)

Drunk ebaying, finds me buying obscure tools from the upper end of Sykes Pickavant catalogue, pre-owned Snap on stuff, and repeat purchases of tools I already have

I'm not sure if it's a like or a don't like... Just saw a guy in a carpark with a yellowy orange ST estate! And Drooooool! It was awesome looking! So I like that, but also don't like that it's not mine...

There's an actual ST estate? :)

Never knew that, I thought the odd ST estate, I've come across were Titaniums that had been upgraded with ST kit.!

The ST came in an estate version from mk3 onwards.

Excellent :) :)

I'll bear that in mind, when I want move up to a Mk3+

Yup, mk3 St estate, drool... I believe there is a certain lucky person who drives one for work...

The weather today! Occasional spells of sunshine, and a very "warm" 16C. :)

Would this certain lucky person also be accompanied by two working dogs?

Indeed the long walk with the dog this morning, was like walking in May :)

I do like throwing a couple of burgers in the frying pan for tea.

Somebody's trying to solicit their chicken carcase tea, a paw keeps being placed on my knee and am being prodded repeatedly with a wet nose

I enjoyed driving this today :D

Instructor was lovely, ironically, she likes Foci too...and has a MK1 TDCI with 130k on the clock and says she will never sell it!

Car was nice, 1.2 had plenty of power. It's nice to drive a car I will actually consider when it's time to buy. My instructor said to go for the Focus though.

Follow your instructors inclination, a Focus is a better choice :)

Indeed I think so too. I do like the 208 though, the driving position was great. It's my second choice. :)

I don't know you Chris, but I personally wouldn't advise anyone I know to get a new car when they pass, even 1 or 2 years old.. I really think there is a lot to be said for slightly older vehicles, firstly there is simplicity; the less knobs, dials, flashing lights, information the better imo... It's less distraction... Then of course there is the statistics which claim new drivers are more likely to have an accident. I never had an accident, but a number of my friends hit objects, things, cars, etc...

Of course new cars tend to have parking help etc, but if not, do you really want to show your inexperience with a lovely scratch on a spotless bumper...

Like I said, I have no idea about you, you might be the exception to the "young people crash" idea (I was, however I feel that's more luck than anything else).

Hope you enjoyed your lesson today.

Thanks, I know what you mean. The problem is, it wouldn't matter whether I scratched a 2 year old car or a 10 year old one, it would still be very annoying for me and I'd still get it fixed. Plus modern cars are a bit safer, plus insurance is cheaper I've found!

This one had a reversing camera but she told me not to look at it! I was discussing with her about me getting a Focus, and she thought it would be a great first car and wouldn't be too big for me.

I'm hoping not to have a crash as I'm sensible, but if I do I'd prefer to be in a newer car than an older one.
