I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I do like catching up with two of my best mates this afternoon, who had returned to Dorset for Christmas. :)

Hadn't seen them for close to 18 months, after they'd moved to Newquay to open a pet shop.

And what pray are stovies? A scottish delicacy of some sort

Pet shop boys eh? ;)

Seriously though, it's good to catch up with people you have lost touch with. I have been trying to contact a couple of people like that lately, but to no avail...

Pet shop girls actually: they're women

Well, I was close

I do like putting some home-made mince pies in the oven and relaxing with a Jim Beam before work tomorrow, which is something I definitely don't like.

You haven't taken much time off. We are are shut until January 4th

Lucky you! The call centre was closed for the 25th only. If luck hadn't been in my favour that I had Saturday and Sunday as rest days, I would have been working from yesterday onward as usual.

I can't tell you how much I miss my last job, in a regular office with regular holidays and working hours. I know I was earning less than £3p/h but the job itself was brilliant.

One of the advantages of running your own business.

£3p/h :o :o Doesn't Scotland have a minimum wage, at the same rate as England? We pay our admin people £10p/h at entry level, which is above (not by much, I grant you) the England minimum wage, which I think is £7 something/h

If they sell puppies can I have the ones with the pink noses? ;)

Scotland uses the National Minimum Wage, but I was an apprentice so the minimum wage for that was £2.73 (although it has now increased to £3.30) and thus that was my hourly rate... Great eh?

I currently get paid £7p/h which is slightly above the minimum wage (£5.30 for 18-20 years old).

£10p/h!? Can I come and work for you??

I do like hot chocolate with a lacing of Bourbon before bed.

The Astra is going to it's new home on the weekend of January 9th/10th. :)

After which, I can get the full use of my drive back and can add everything from my ever-growing mod pile to the Focus :)

Good to hear! Is it going to be kept on the road or used for spares? Not that I particularly want it to be kept on the road, but morally I'd prefer it was so someone can get use out of it.

Kept on the road in SW London, for when he wants drive about, instead of using the tubes

That would be a tricky decision, taking the tube or driving a Vauxhall

Indeed.

Having to choose between a rattly, smelly, uncomfortable and claustrophobic old style of travel or the tube ;)

Haha!!!

He said, he sometimes he needs to go somewhere where the tubes don't run, or don't run at convenient times. It's nearly impossible to park anywhere near where he lives; you can end up parking several blocks away. So, he wanted something that was cheap, and it didn't matter too much if it got scratched, keyed etc and it wouldn't be attractive to the car thief fraternity
