Hey TD nice to see your still around

Yup still about!! hopefully a little more over xmas again.

I bet your eyes have been opened a fair bit now?

;)

Just a little!!!

Quick one after many years of owning a focus I've never actually looked into this snow foam thing, can someone point me into the direction of where to get the stuff needed to wash like this. Thanks

also check out detailing world for offers and info.

thats a good site that!

Got some snowfoam tips off there!

Is it essential to have a pressure washer to do the snow foam.

  • Author

no. on my snowfoam concentrate bottle it says you can use a sprayer. but i never have.

I think you get better results with a pressure washer.

i too have used it with just a garden hose attachment but jetwash is much better.

Just ordered my next mod, an ST Upper Grille...

Will hopefully make it look a lot better!! Added to my colour coded bonnet lip should look pretty smart now!

If anyone wants one, the FINIS Number is 1538478, and i've got it for a storming price from my local dealer!!

do tell Dave,

i wanted one but the prices were £50+! I'd want a lower matching honeycombe grill

  • Author

I'm yet to get a final price, but as a long standing customer i always get a good discount...

Should be about £30... ;)

as for the lower grille, i agree... but an ST grille wont fit... I did look at trimming the existing rectangular bits out and retro fitting a honeycomb mesh in its place, but dont think itll look that good...

you jammy git! i too wanted to try retrofitting the honeycombe grill but my diy skills aren't that good

It could work, if you have a steady enough hand... I may try ot if i can get a lower grille cheap enough ;)

I'll knock up a Photoshop of it in a bit and see if i get the bug lol!

how do you go about moulding the 2 pieces together? i know someone on STOC does a really good job but he doesnt give his secret away and as there are many joints i wouldnt want it to look naff. plus, would it be strong enough and not fall apart?

  • Author

I'd work something out... solvent weld is probably a good start, but i'd also probably look at some support structure behind, so its not relying on the honeycomb, but a structure behind it to hold it in place...

As Promised... Little Photoshop... what does everyone think?

Before

After

DaveSTFrontZetecS_zps74400590.jpg

that looks good, i would get rid of the 2 smaller bits on either side too

  • Author

I was thinking that... I think there would be enough left from the grille too to do that...

you can do mine when you have done yours!

can you photoshop it so the whole of the lower grill is honeycombe (one piece)

  • Author

HAHA! sure. if I do it, ill offer custom services!! Why Not Eh!!

  • Author

Yes mate i can. However i think building that would be a nightmare!!
