At the risk of continuing this thread as a political thread, as mentioned above, 17 yrs of labour rule has clearly done wonders, Jamie, you're 21 right? So the majority (if not all) of your conscious life has been ruled by labour yet you consider the Tories to be the ones to blame?

Mate you've GOT a job, it might suck and you might hate it, but the alternative is labour which is a vote for an entirely welfare state propped up by the employed..YOU and indeed those rich politicians and their tax money!

Labour is such a joke that even the tradesmen I have working ATM vote conservative!

The SNP wiped Labour out in Scotland & the buffoon Corbyn has reduced Labour in England to ridicule  . . .  next May someone will hopefully wipe out Labour in Wales.

Labour's or any others' socialist policies never have worked & never will work - Greece is a fine example.

The rest of the U.K. '' only '' had to suffer 13 gruelling years of Labour incompetence, Wales has suffered 17 & if it wasn't for the Conservative voting wealth creators Wales would be little better than a wasteland, albeit a beautiful one.

Labours policies are quite frankly flawed. Socialism has never really worked, I mean look at Greece! That didn't go well did it...

My whole family voted conservative just to keep Labour out!

EDIT: Mondeo TX summed up what I was saying quite nicely...

Put it this way- do you really want Corbyn (leader of the CND btw) in charge?

Bye bye Navy, bye bye cheap electricity.

A vote for Labour will be a shot in the back of the head for the UK.

Labour always tries to buy votes with your money and still keep spending when their pockets are full of nothing but lint.

Tories may not always be popular but at least they don't spend what they don't have.

I met Tony Blair once...came to our school in about '99 iirc lol.

When did politics become a forum friendly topic anyway, it's like talking about religion or praising Vauxhalls...

I was what you would call a traditional labour voter..working class and proud of it....Until that God awful guy called Tony Blair came along....with that money grubbing wife of his...it was this woman that brought about the humans right bull we now have...

This pair totally turned me away..so !Removed! corrupt and totally blatent about it.. As for Corbyn,he's never getting in and should be politely to to go an fornicate himself with a large stick...

Sorry about that post..don't mean to come across all Political... But if we don't get out of Europe then things are only going to get worse...

We need to leave so badly...

We are being taken advantage of...what's up is everyone blind or something... They keep telling us what we can and can't do...so infuriating!!!

My son has lost count of the amount of jobs he's been undercut on...

Now imagine the scenario if you could hire a polish lawyer at say half the usual cost....or have dental implants done by your local polish dentist for half bat...I don't see any of that ever happening...

We don't need thousands and thousands of men with no skills coming here because our benefits pay more than theirs.

We've got plenty of home grown without skills to fill these menial jobs. And we have enough semi-slilled to do the rest...and I've not got to the guys who are qualified, trained hard for little money...only to see a foreigner tale that work from him for half the pay.

this foreigner is getting every benefit there is and sending it 'back home' to their pregnant partner/or wife and their twenty children...

I could go on and on...

We don't need Europe and all their unskilled men coming here taking our jobs and money.

I'm sort of sticking up for the euro imports here, I used to slag them off UNTIL I worked with them lol.  I'm 24 in less than a month(yes that has just hit me) & I didn't want Labour to be in government, so I didn't vote for them.  I'm on the fence about being in Europe, as with everything it's 6 to 1 half a dozen the other.  Also I think no matter who you/we vote for, that party will be run by idiots fed on a silver spoon & live for money.  There is one word in Government that MP's do not like.  COMPROMISE.

(moving the politics aside)

I don't like that what I can say on the phone or face to face quite straightforwardly, in order of precedence and protocol: becomes rather complicated and confusing when I type it up to send in email for reference, for someone who wasn't at the meeting.  To many inter-dependent references:sad:

I have many reasons to despise Tories, but don't worry - I feel equal dislike for Labour too.  The only party I support is the SNP, and for them to be 100% successful Scotland has to be independent.  Yes I'm 20 years old, so maybe I can't have an opinion - but I work and know people who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s who would all rather have Westminster controlled by Donald Trump than David Cameron or any of his cronies.

Lets not forget who were in power before Labour were voted in, and why people voted Labour in.  Because they wanted to get away from the Tories!!

But, there is a good reason politics aren't discussed on forums except in designated areas (where applicable), because of the strong mixed feelings they evoke.

Hear hear.

Jamie the people you work with were around when labour was for the working man... That labour no longer exists. The working man has been screwed by labour time and time again, labour is now for the men and women who can work but do not work......

I do not like the collusion between the algae and the lichen that has turned my path up by the front door to vegetative slide, when it's raining it's even worse:ohmy:

When I finish this paperwork, and the sun has risen, I think it's time to powerwash it off and apply some algaecide.

Unfortunately, the path is composed on sandstone slabs, so I can't blast it too forcefully, as I'll essentially be engraving my slabs:huh:

I don't like that I can't find anything to watch in the evenings now that BBC3 has gone.

Means I end up on the laptop which is a bit over-stimulating before bed.

Feeling pretty frustrated, let down and worthless by the organisation with whom I volunteer.

I was booked on a course for this weekend - but was taken off it without any warning or acknowledgement. Turns out, some lazy *person* hasn't bothered actioning an email that was sent 18 months ago, despite saying they had.

So now, I cannot attend an essential course and face being disciplined and/or dismissed!

It's even more insulting that I'm having to jump through this hoop in the first place. I used to be an Instructor with a fully substansive rate. But because I left, it's assumed that I have forgotten the whole lot.

The course is very similar* to the old Instructor Qualifying Course

(*similar as in derived from)

Why do I bother?!

Surely it's not your fault though??? Can't see why you would get dismissed/disciplined if it wasn't your fault, yes it's an essential course but again it was out of your control.  I don't like the fact I'm up at this time of night and I have to be up for work shortly

It's because I turned down a couple of the courses last year because I wasn't sure if I would have been able to make it. As it turned out, I could have attended 1 of them, but it was full by the time I knew that I could make it.

I also tried to get on one, but was booted off (with no notice given) because I hadn't completed a Protecting Information course (they wouldn't accept my work one - despite it being the same course, done through the Defence Learning Portal).

2nd one I tried to get on was fully booked (I was expecting to be away, but wasn't) then tonight I get told that I'm not on this weekend.

I'm tempted to walk. It's not fair on me, and it's not fair on the kids - they have instructors who can't instruct because they can't get the quals they need.

Their loss - with my ticket, I'll be able to teach a variety of things - chartwork, seamanship, meteorology, comms (including the VHF Short Range Certificate), possibly First Aid (if they bother to check my certificate). Not to mention my prior experience as a Cadet, former instructor and current seafarer.

Dropping my iPad on my face trying to read through the political discussion....

Ouch

Tell you politics is nothing but trouble and pain

Best advice I ever got is this;

"Never talk about politics or religion because it will always end in an argument"

Indeed it does Phil!

I don't like the fact that I have another 8 hours of hell (work) tomorrow from 08:30-16:30.  The stupidity of people never fails to surprise me...  I actually had somebody complain that I saved him money today.  Just a tip, if you value your sanity - don't work in a call centre.

Don't work in Eon's call centre do you?  I've had a letter from them saying my meter is being phased out and needs changing (it's only 6 months old!?)...  Reason for this...they won't be able to fit the same meter if it ever breaks.  Not sure if I'm being thick here....surely they could just wait until it breaks and fit the new one!?

No, I work for an outsourcing company whose client is a Scottish energy supplier...  Given that we don't even upgrade people with clock meters, I can safely say that they are being overzealous making you get rid of your current meter.
