Things I Don't Like

Getting up on a Monday morning for work has to be high on this list..

I don't mind getting up on a monday morning, it's just when the rest of the world gets up that irritates the life out of me - especially the pedestrians that just cross without looking, the lane changing no indicating bunch, the 'cut you off' mob... and everyone else too really...

Does it sting? I personally like the breaker bar idea... I know it's a contentious subject, but I'd rather not use something that will aid the police in tracking down and catching my killer over the course of a few days/weeks... I'd rather use something that renders the person my 'attempted killer' and help the police load him into the back of a wagon.. (and no doubt end up in it myself..)

....of course, that being said, I've never had anyone break into anywhere I live...and I've never beaten anyone with a weapon... so hopefully the above will remain just hot air..

I don't like getting home at 21:30 and my brain being completely dead.  I've had to retype that last sentence twice because I was writing random words that made no sense.

I don't like twerps in corsas that think red lights mean go...

I had overtaken a corsa by a good 4 lengths and I'd say I was about 30-40 metres from the lights when I saw them turn orange.. I immediately took my foot off the accelerator as I knew I'd have to stop... this corsa actually speeds past me.. "what a twerp, is he in a hurry to stop" I say to myself... the lights turn red, by this point I was maybe 20-30 and the corsa was 15-25metres from the lights.... he keeps going.. straight through... Strange thing was, I actually caught up to him about 3-4 sets of lights down the road..

I can only genuinely hope he was someone put off by all the street lights etc and hadn't noticed the lights were red and that it was something he wouldn't normally do as it's scary to think that someone could intentionally be that much of a berk..

Don't like work is going in the direction of a Status Quo song.  Down Down Down.  Touch wood, so far I haven't been in a position to use anything on a burglar not that I need it, as I did boxing for just about 3 years when I was 16-19.  I find the knowing how to fight thing, goes 2 ways, your either really tempted to give someone a light tap & it's very difficult stopping yourself, or it goes the opposite way and you just have this attitude about you.  Besides I've got kids now so there is the added pressure of keeping them safe at all times + as in the film legend, Reggie would win the fight as you don't go down in front of the missus haha.  However I've also got my tool chest in the front room(Shed still isn't built lol) should my boxing ability fail me.

Similar tonight I saw the. BMW driver pass me even though I'd stopped at a pedestrian crossing red lights showing luckily no one stepped out !Removed! idiot.

Caught him at the next set of light and followed him for about a mile so didn't exactly get him very far.

I don't like over-estimating the quantity of potatoes I can eat in one go:ohmy:

I was quite hungry when popped three large ones in the oven for jacket potatoes, they were all consumed with a couple of onions and tuna. However, since then I have felt rather bloated and laden:sad:

On a brighter note, my potato mountain is now only 45Kg, which need eating before September 2016.  Something I didn't achieve with the harvest of 2014, I was still eating them after I'd harvested 2015's

I don't stop eating until I feel bloated and laden - that's how I know I'm full

Not very good for my body though, especially as I let myself get absolutely starving before eating.

Getting up and jumping straight out for materials for the morning (rather than waking up a bit and just using what we have until 9:30-10)... Then getting to the suppliers and realising I left my wallet at home!!! Really need to sort out accounts, rather than cash accounts

I don't think I've met someone before that doesn't have hot drinks at all:ohmy: You're the first, you could start a movement!

Whilst I drink a couple of litres of water every evening, the morning and afternoon beverages are always coffee and tea.

Brake cleaner really stings in an open wound, so it would be quite dramatic in an eye.  Would imagine carb cleaner to be the same.

It's actually not that strange in my 'generation'.  I know a few people my age that don't drink hot drinks, however I was considered extremely weird by the older guys for not drinking tea on work experience at a garage...

Those of us that don't are often the same weirdo's that don't drink alcohol or smoke either...

I don't like finding two socks (unrelated to each other) had gone missing when hanging out the laundry:sad:

They're counted as pairs when sorting out the washes and placed in the washing machine as pairs; how can they vanish in the wash??

Had something similar at a petrol station in Germany, thought I'd left my wallet in England:wallbash: as I couldn't find it anywhere, my pockets, under the car seat, around the car, between the car and the kiosk etc.

After quite a panic, which became quite frantic, then trying to explain in broken German, with lots charades like acting and getting nowhere fast.  The attendant thinking I was trying it on

Trying to remember when i last had it, and going through what I'd done since then.  I suddenly remembered I'd changed my clothing on the ferry.  My wallet was in the jeans pocket I'd changed from:lol: which was now in a holdall in the boot.  A holdall I'd dismissed from looking into during the earlier search "as that was just clothes I'd packed for the trip"

You are in the generation that is hydration aware and were bought up to be so, this would make a massive difference.  Thinking about it, my mate's sons, who'd be from the same era as yourself, drink tap water in preference to a hot drink.

Mind you, they're not abstainers from alcohol, they both drink for England, at the drop of a hat.

Given the recent decrease (last 20 years or so), smokers are becoming the little weird group than congregate outside office entrances: rather than the non-smokers

I can't imagine anybody not drinking any hot liquids...  I can't do anything without a few cups of steaming hot coffee!!

That's very true, or it is clouds of vapour rather than smoke.

I'm more of a water drinker tbh. I like a hot drink, but water is always a preference

Water is OK, I prefer whisky though... :wink3:

Water does have some advantages...Try necking a pint a pint of nice cool water on a hot summers day, then try the same with whisky

Assuming you're still capable of thinking - consider the cost if nothing else lol

(Admittedly, a wee dram of water doesn't have the same effect on the palette as a wee dram of whisky lol)

I actually don't drink that much these days... I will drink too much on a bash every now and again, but really, I rarely drink from week to week. I tend not to sleep very well, or wake up feeling less rested (even after small amounts), I'm more lethargic, less upbeat...and to top it off, I'm trying to be a healthier person where I can (and save cash!!).

Coupling that with late evening/night gym visits, and it doesn't make for a great drinking recipe. Gym somewhere around 9-11 gives me very little time to have a drink afterwards, and when I'm not at the gym, I'm trying to recover from late nights at the gym followed by early mornings

That being said, a nice whisky is wonderful, I'm just finding more and more excuses not to drink these days, which I quite like.

I don't like the effect today's big bowl of oats, raspberries, blueberries and cream I had for breakfast is now having on me, it doesn't normally has this effect:ohmy: If I'd had a couple of cauliflowers topped with brussel sprouts, it would be normal and and expected, but not from oats berries and cream:sad:

In terms of quantity, I drink more water than anything else on a day to day basis, mainly in the evenings, 2-3 litres over the course of 5-6 hours.  During the day it's coffees and teas, in no particular order about an hour apart.  Although between waking up, walking Brandy and breakfast; I have 3 coffees in close succession and entire pot of tea (4 mugs) mid afternoon.

Whilst it's not a deliberate thing to cut down on alcohol, my only big drinking sessions now, are when one of my brothers come down for a weekend and numerous bottles are consumed quite quickly on the Friday and Saturday nights.  This contrasts with some years ago, when I thought nothing of drinking nearly every night:laugh:

I don't drink at all anymore, I got paralytic 2 years ago & it killed me the next day, I was like nope not doing that again, obviously if we go out for a meal I'll have a pint but that's it.  Water I have 1 or 2 glasses as soon as I wake up & 1 before I go to bed & then a mixture of tea, coffee & water during the day, oh & tropicana if we have it.   I used to drink loads of milk but I've tried cutting it down, so now it's just on cereal

I don't like the idea of driving today. Had a gut full yesterday with lane drifters, no indicators, general s**t road discipline. We all know how bad people can be, but it just astounds me when it comes in batches of halfwits, are they magnetic?? Do they attract each other??

....and it begins straight away. I thought I'd go get fuel before everyone else is up, so hopped in car and trundled down the road. I'm on a secondary road coming up to a standard cross road traffic light junction with the box junction markings in the centre. As I'm approaching, the light for me is red so I'm slowing, then I see it turns red and yellow, and all of a sudden from the primary road comes a car, I figured he's going somewhere so he's gone through the orange... Not really the crime of the century... Then he stops ON the box junction to pick up a passenger (turns out he's a taxi!!!), I mean what a bellend. So I'm going on the green because I figure he is moving only for me to be halfway into the junction wondering why that moron has now stopped!

And it was a Zafira with a tail light out. I should just wrap the car in bubble wrap and go back to bed right now!

They're all out today then.  Great!

I don't like gaining leg and back ache through the night...  Cleaning the car yesterday was probably too much of a workout considering I haven't done any manual 'labour' for a couple of weeks now.

I'm feeling OK today, but yesterday I woke up in agony with my hip.  Not sure if it is the way I slept but certainly not pleasant.

I know - 20 years old and complaining of a bad hip!  My body is depreciating quicker than a Limited Edition Corsa...

I don't like waking up unusually cold and then remaining cold for the duration of Brandy's morning stroll and back again.  I'm now wearing an additional fleece in the house.  It might be the pre-cursor for a spot of flu:sad:

I also don't like seeing the Electronic Shift Malfunction light illuminate on the Mk1 Focus when backing it into the drive.  It's a long time since I've overhauled an auto box, and I dare say, the a box from 2004 is vastly different to one from the early 1980s.  Google says it's quite common, and it will be a solenoid rather than something quite serious.  I haven't read the DTC yet, but it should tell me which solenoid has failed/or is failing.

Bunty has bought me a little mangled recently deceased bundle of grey brown fur, it lacks a head, but was probably a vole, she put it on display on the sofa:ohmy:
