To get her over a high fence chasing after a scrot that did a decamp from a stolen car.

Ah, didn't think of that!

The total idiot( nice way) of a Vauxhall Insignia driver who nearly wrote my car off by cutting me up on a roundabout.

Without a word of a lie, I honestly don't believe I have seen a nice insignia driver - they're becoming worse than Audis. Everytime I'm on the motorway they're the car sat up my ar** when theres other cars infront of me, and the ones who cut me up etc. Maybe its just my hatred against insignias so they want to annoy me that bit more

Got in a disagreement with a walrus yesterday. There was an accident in the city centre police cars, ambulances, fire engines, couple smashed cars etc, sitting in car next to me was a passenger filming the whole thing, we all rubber neck I know, and yeh more detailed photos of accidents in papers are great, but when it looked as if there was enough emergency services to help the middle East I figured someone has to be hurt and maybe trapped, maybe in pain? Crying? Certainly not at their best... So I suggest to said walrus, that filming the whole thing might be a bit disrespectful if someone was hurt... Evidently walrus' do not take kindly to that sort of thing...

I don't like waking up with a pounding headache that won't shift, despite two doses of paracetamol, four hours apart  Like the advert, it feels like someone's on my head with a jack-hammer and another with sledge hammer:sad:

I think my head must slipped under the duvet and I ended up breathing too much of my own carbon dioxide emissions: rather than bedroom air.  Which has happened before, the headache lasts all day.

My Astra buyer still hasn't collected it, he will now need an MOT, as it expired last week. Despite saying he will be collecting it: he has failed again to come.

I inadvertently knocked the nearside mirror clean off on Monday night, trying to get the rather laden wheelie bin passed it.  Normally, I hoist the wheelie bin to head height in a sort of bear hug, to get it past the Astra but being heavier than usual, it slid down just as I was by the mirror.  Wheelie bin bottom hit Astra mirror, knocking it off.  Whilst I've got it back on, it's not fitting tightly back in the three sockets, I think the weighty bin deformed the two of them.  Next week is a double bin week (general and recycling), with two more opportunities to knock it off, if it's not collected.

Brandy doesn't like getting old, she's finding the stairs increasingly difficult to ascend at night.  I'm having to help her from behind, supporting her hips.  Although she doesn't have stair problems during the day, and in the morning she's quite happy to bound up and down

The stupid B**** that decides to cut me up in her Corsa last minute causing me to slam on then doesn't even acknowledge me. Road rage doesn't begin to explain it

I don't like:

Plumbers + clumsy feet + ceilings = -_-

No pic of legs hanging through the ceiling?  Disappointed...

I remember my Dad putting a leg through the ceiling when he was boarding up the loft.

Having laid a series toward to the water tank, he stepped back on to a where he thought he'd placed a board: but had not.  Suddenly finding himself one leg shorter than the other, for it was now deep in the hall ceiling, and partially in the upper part of the airing cupboard:ohmy:

I'd find it all more amusing if it wasn't a ceiling over a 15-20 ft drop to the staircase.... Will require scaffolding I reckon...

Won't be me paying for it, but it'll be a right eye waterer!!

Just a massive ball ache

What are the chances of it passing an MOT do you reckon?  I'd be getting a bit impatient (to put it mildly!) if I were you, in fact I think if it were me the car would have been gone months ago.  I give people a week and if they don't show up, the deal is over.

I don't like diesel being over £1 per litre again!  There are a few words I could use to describe those in parliament who have caused the increase, but in respect of the swear filter I will refrain.

Diesel is still 99.9 here...  Or will it be changing since the budget?

I don't like unlit dual carriageways...  Dipped beams don't illuminate far enough at 70mph, and you can't use mains for blinding everyone coming the other way.  How is it even legal to have unlit 70mph roads!

I also don't like that I can't seem to win with my brain...  Been really struggling with driving lately (amongst other things lol), don't like heavy traffic so decided to go for a backroad drive this evening...turns out I don't like deathly empty backroads either...ugh...  I should just stay home.

It had no advisories last year but apart from driving it up and down the drive, it hasn't been used much, since it's 6 month oil service in July and not all from September went it was SORNed.  There can't be much deterioration since July, I would've thought it wouldn't have any issues getting through an MOT.

Tonight's text to Astra buyer said if he doesn't come and collect it. It will go on Gumtree and/or the ATF network auction site (whose name currently escapes me)

The local Shell has diesel at 98.9p a litre down here.  Esso is 1p more

It was 98.9p here for the past week or so, but tonight (typically as it hit a quarter of a tank and I was thinking about refueling) it went up to 100.9p at Tesco and 105.9p at Esso.  Lovely!

With regards to the Astra, you'd be surprised what can go wrong with a car when it just sits on the driveway (in my experience, at least).  One major thing would be that it'd need a bit of a "redline for a good time" during the drive to the MOT station to clear out the exhaust system and o2 sensor etc...

I've noticed it's always the day after I've filled up, that price has dropped.

It is on deathly empty backroads when I'm driving along in near silence, that Brandy manages to spot something wildlife wise (fox, rabbit owl), in the otherwise pitch blackness, to suddenly launch a surprise bark at.  The unexpected voluminous WOOF, can almost shock me into losing control of the car.

For the rest of the journey, I'm in constant anticipation for the next one: one that is seldom uttered:laugh:

That's what gets me with dogs!  I don't have a problem with them and can grow quite fond of them if they are well mannered, but the unpredictable "woof!" for no apparent reason just keeps me on edge.

I have noticed that the dipped beams on the 405 aren't all that bright (almost feels like driving with the sidelights on), but that's why the speed limits are just that - LIMITS.  If the road doesn't allow, you can drive slower to maintain a level of safety.

Brandy's reason would be "ooh look there's a fox,/rabbit/owl on the far side of that wood, beyond that field. I must greet it, loudly (for it's a long way away)"

Noticeably it's only on rural back roads that she might do so, she's completely indifferent on motorways and multi-carriage ways.

Although she has been known to greet other dogs in other cars, we pass or pass us.

It's less safe to be doing 50 when the rest of the traffic is doing 70 though, speed is hard enough to judge at night as it is...  Rather not risk being rear ended lol!  Just seems daft they don't fit lights to all dual carriageways when they're built.

Also you realise that 1p difference on fuel is what, 50p over a tank lol, not worth worrying about!

Might be worth trying some better bulbs in the 405, Osram Nightbreakers or something.  Also make sure the lenses are clear and the reflectors are good.

Had one of those this morning, an Insignia on a 16 plate, weaving about between lanes, no indicating as he weaved, cutting everyone else up for a couple of mile; exactly in the fashion we've come to expect/anticipate Audi and BMWs to do.  His final insult to everyone else, was to be in lane 4 (right turn only) rapidly shoot to lane 1 (left and ahead), causing everyone in lanes 1-3 to come to an abrupt screeching halt.  How the Transit (lane 2) managed to not him, was a testament to Mr Transit's skill in idiot avoidance, literally millimetres separated them as he came to a stop

405 bulbs must be just slightly better the Astra ones then

The Astra dipped beams were appalling:sad:, driving on sidelights would've been an improvement:laugh:: it was like having a pair of candles to drive by.  I swapped them for Osram Silverstars and then Nightbreakers, when they became available.

In contrast, my 406 had great lights, although that too got some Nightbreakers

I think we were spoiled with the Nissan and Fiat, both of which had great headlamps.  I will invest in some better bulbs soon.

I don't like hearing about how it is terrible that tax is charged on sanitary products ("tampon tax"), but yet we get taxed through the nose for fuel which is just as much of a necessity and yet that will never be tax free.  Hmm!
